I enjoyed the documentary, and some things jumped out to me.

1. The breaks in the case came from two civilians, despite the amount of resources used by the FBI and BPD
2. The photos were definitely leaked by the commissioner, but looking at point 1. I do not think they were even close to IDing them. It flushed them out and the bombers made mistakes from then on out.
3. LE looked a step behind, unorganized, and anxious. They could not perform a simple grid search despite the amount of resources at their disposal.
4. I didn’t see a mention of the fact that Tamerlan was on two terror watchlist, and was able to re-enter the country without any additional screening. To be fair, the reasons for this involved mundane tech issues, but it has been suggested that he was an informant.

Hello; it's my first time posting and I'm in need of help.
I got a couple of sewing lessons a few years ago when I first got into sewing and my teacher taught me how to make these cute little make-up bags. Now I've come to make them again a long while later and they've been somewhat successful but the zips don't look right and sit flush with the edges of the bag... See pics. What am I doing wrong please? I never got any written instructions, so I'm just going from photos I took at the time...

I just purchased a Sea-Doo GTX 230. I was trying to find ways to mount my phone to the handlebars, ideally in the middle. My goal was to have a low profile, VERY solid mount. I considered and tried a few different things, but these two were my favorite designs.
I realized the sticky mount (last two pictures) would work but the base was simply too large for the area. But I figured I'd show people in case they have a use case. You could also trim the base to make it smaller via Dremel or other. To make, I bought one of those dash suction cup bases that comes with the super strong 3M VHB tape (thicker than the phone ones, so they REALLY stick to textured surfaces and such). I took the Universal Bar Mount, removed the four screws in the back. Then aligned the the holes on the base plate and drilled them precisely. Then, re-purposed the exact same screws. The VHB tape is thick enough that the heads of the screws are actually flush with the tape. Works quite well!
The other idea took a bit more work, but it worked AMAZINGLY well for this purpose. I purchased heavy duty bungee straps designed for furniture webbing. It's really strong stuff. I got a matching set of buckles and one of those black metal plates that people stick on their phones to have them attach to those (meh) magnet phone mounts.
I first aligned and drilled four holes precisely on the black metal plate. Then placed the plate on the bungee strap and melted holes using a soldering iron. Then I sandwiched the bungee strap between the Peak Design SlimLink and the black metal plate. I could have used the same screws, but they are bevelled and I didn't want to scratch my Sea-Doo. So I used identical sized screws with round tops instead which I happen to have (M3 is the size).
I would say I sewed one end (but in reality, my wife is the expert here), then tested the fit, adjusted the other end until I had to stretch it quite tight to get it to click, and marked it. My wife sewed the other end at that spot.
Finally, placed a piece of Gorilla tape just to make sure no sharp edges stick out against the Sea-Doo foam pad.
Voià! A very secure, custom made mount that holds incredibly well. I went for a SUPER rough ride today actually in extremely choppy conditions. The phone was rock solid, didn't wiggle or anything. I'm extremely pleased and there's no holes or glue on the Sea-Doo. Which is nice considering it's brand new.

Just had a steel shed built in the back yard. I'd like to start adding some pegboard and shelving to the walls.
I'm an absolute novice and I've had a difficult time finding information on how to go about this that isn't just somebody using whatever assortment of material and fasteners he had lying around.
Is there a standard procedure for affxing things to the walls of this kind of structure? Online resource with recommended size of screw, type of bracket, etc.?
I'd prefer to follow the best practice rather that just bolt something to the wall and realize it was a terrible idea in 6 months.
The framing members in the photo are 3in deep.
My best guess so far was to use L-brackets / corner-brackets of some kind to mount pieces of dimensional lumber flush with the front faces of the framing members. I could then drill whatever I wanted into the wood.

I believe I need hex-head self-drilling screws for attaching to the metal members. Is there a recommended screw size? #8, #10? The framing members are hollow inside and look to be maybe 1/8 of an inch thick, so would 1/2in length work?
Do I need a bracket with flat holes on one side for the metal screws and conical holes for the wood screws on the other? I haven't been able to find anything like this.

I (22M) have been dealing with Rosacea ever since being a teenager and just ignored it for most of my life because it was easier. The past 2 years I have been paying attention to it, trying to reduce the redness. I have type 1 and I feel like I have tried everything.
I tried doxy for months on end, soolantra and I have had 6 vBeams (noticed an improvement with that). This morning I had a breakout where my skin felt like it was on fire and I just broke down in tears.
I felt like no one understood what it’s like to be the reddest in the room, to hate looking at myself in photos, to wait for people to go why are you so red. It’s horrible! Then I found this page and was relieved to know other people go through this too.
I am looking for a skincare routine (I’ve tried a few) and I just ordered a Vanicream cleanser and a Cetaphil moisturiser to see how I’ll go. I use an ASAP sunscreen that I find doesn’t flush me too badly.
I’ve never really focussed on a diet either but what are your successes with changing diets and your rosacea?

Hi there - 29M here. I noticed raised red marks on my calf, that look quite similar to petechiae. They are raised rather than flat, do not blanch when pressed, and are not itchy. I’ve added a photo as a comment.
My understanding is that petechiae are flush with the skin and are not typically raised. How concerned should I be?
My other diagnoses are mild Ulcerative Coltis, Psoriasis, and a fair number of environmental allergies.

so i’m a 20 yo woman. when i was 19 and on nexplanon, i decided to take a random pregnancy test, and it came back with the lightest double line i’ve ever seen. everyone i asked told me i was crazy and it wasn’t there, so i believed them and just forgot about it. about a month and a half/two ish months later, i experienced extreme cramping one night that was leaving me frozen in place. i would’ve gone to urgent care or something had i not been obligated to perform in a concert, it was almost debilitating. the next morning i sat in the toilet and a big ball of fleshy stuff fell out. i freaked out and flushed it, and assumed it was just a miscarriage. about a year later, i learned what a decidual cast is and the symptoms, and it made a lot of sense. nexplanon is associated with a few rare pregnancies, often ectopic. and ectopic pregnancies are associated with a few rare cases of decidual casts. i edited the photo i took of the pregnancy test i thought was positive, and after bringing out the shadows it is blatantly positive. so was this a miscarriage? an ectopic pregnancy that lead to a decidual cast? i’m just so confused because a week or so after this happening i had a trans vaginal ultrasound and they found nothing abnormal. i feel like i’m crazy but it was not a normal experience.
