Widely regarded as inferior, owing chiefly to the strategic demolition that Aron Nimzowitsch (playing as White) suffered at the hands of José Capablanca in one of their games at the New York 1927 tournament:

First PC Build (in a long time)
Hello! It has been over 10 years since I built a PC, and now that I can afford the specs I want, I’m a bit concerned I’ve lost track of optimization. I’ve compiled this component list focused on an RTX 4080, and I was hoping to hear any feedback about the parts I’ve selected and if there might be any synergy issues with them put together. I’m no engineer, and I worry I’ve overlooked something (I already have peripherals like mouse/keyboard/monitor, FYI).
• MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 16GB GDDR6X PCI Express 4.0 Video Card
• Intel Core i5-13600K - Core i5 13th Gen Raptor Lake 14-Core (6P+8E) 3.5 GHz LGA 1700 125W Intel UHD Graphics 770 Desktop Processor
• ASUS TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi D4 LGA 1700 (Intel 12th&13th Gen) ATX Gaming Motherboard
• CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000)
• WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe M.2 2280 2TB PCI-Express 4.0 x4 Internal Solid State Drive
• DeepCool Liquid Cooler LS720 360mm 4th Gen Dual-Chamber Pump 3100RPM 300w
• CORSAIR RMx Shift Series RM1000x Shift Fully Modular 80PLUS Gold ATX Power Supply
• CORSAIR 5000D Airflow Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX PC Case
Looking to run Windows 11.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

2023.06.06 04:00 dla26 tried to help my daughter get a cheap, reliable, safe used car...
My daughter just graduated college and will be spending the next year in a remote part of the country working for a non-profit. She'll need a car there, so I was thinking I could help her get a nice, cheap, safe used car. I was thinking a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic or something. I didn't want to cheap out and get anything that would break down right away, so I was expecting to pay around $10,000. Maybe $15k for something really good.
We went to a local dealer, and the indeed had a 2016 Toyota Corolla. Perfect, I thought. The price on it was over $30k. I asked how much a new car would be, and it was about the same. I asked why anyone would buy a 2016 Toyota Corolla for the same price as a new one, and they told me there's about a 1-month waitlists for a new one. (For other models like a RAV4, it's more like 6 months to a year.) My daughter's not in a rush, so we could have gotten new, but I didn't want to spend $30k (not including taxes and fees, which would have added another $5k or so) on a new car when she's not sure she'll even need a car once she's done with this year-long non-profit thing. My wife and I decided we could make do with just one car, so we're lending our daughter the other one for the next year.
But if she didn't have us and was planning on starting her first job in some new place and needed a car, how could she possibly afford a $35,000 car? It would be one thing if interest rates were at an all-time low, but they're extremely high, so if she were on her own, she'd be paying over $600/month if she spread her payments out over 5 years. Add rent, student loan payments, necessities, etc., and I don't know how any young person can be expected to get started without their parents' help.
Young people are so screwed...

2023.06.06 03:56 KingAngeli Unedited Navy Gimbal video with multiple witnesses and no explanation

Where are we at on this? Has anyone given any explanation for this? And how it looks like the craft from the plane that was posted about two months ago? submitted by KingAngeli to UFOs [link] [comments]
I’m sure this has been posted before, but considering the recent whistleblower I think we should submit the most credible evidence that exists with multiple Navy Pilots confirming visually and a second pilot going out and capturing this video.
This is the best evidence we have with the most credible of witnesses. This is why I cannot dismiss David Grusch allegations especially after he submits testimony to congress in which perjury is a punishable crime.
2023.06.06 03:54 Conflict-Lumpy Indian Challenger - upgrading from first bike
I've been riding for my first 18 months and absolutely loving every moment. Since getting through MSC I bought myself a honda rebel 500 and have been taking it out for a spin every day since (when weather permits here in canada). I love going out for day trips and riding with my GF as my trusted passenger around the city. Since I'm in the city of Toronto and have no need for a carI have a nice budget I can use towards my dream bike.
I wanted to get some honest opinions from the group to see if an Indian bagger would be a great next motorcycle. I have my eye on the challenger dark horse, and would dream of ripping that bike around the city and to take my GF on some amazing tours around canada and USA. I find it unrealistic to take one of these smaller cruisers for longer trips especially with a potential passenger...not too mention the baggers look amazing.
Do you guys think my next bike should be one of the Indian Bqggers?

2023.06.06 03:53 SnooCapers6286 16 Honda accord advice
Hey guys, I am looking to purchase a Honda accord and would like some input on the price.
The one I’m looking at is a 2016 V6 touring couple with a manual transmission.
The car itself is pretty clean and comes with aftermarket rims, factory skirt package, and tinted windows.
From the report everything seems clean in terms of records. The car has 150,000 kms and is listed at $19,900 CAD. I really do enjoy the look of the car but I’m not really sure it’s worth it’s price.
My market is Ontario, Canada and so far the price on used cars are still pretty shit.

I'm Tony Bourke, I've been doing gear guide videos and responding to various threads on here for a while now. I'm an FAA certified senior rigger as well as AFF-I, S&TA, and (un-current) pilot.
I'm the one doing these video on skydiving gear (as well as safety: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0AdstrZpT0SJJ2xxLfDbCtYeFLYFJUzu
I've been working with and studying all the various options vendors and components, and I've got a good handle on what's out there, what's appropriate, and so forth.
So if you have a gear question I will answer with what I know and if I don't know, I'll try to find someone who does!

2023.06.06 03:47 Money_Ocelot_ Need help 2002 Honda Civic Engine Trouble
So I have a 2002 Honda Civic (1.7L LX) I just recently started having issues with it. I went to go start it up and drive the other day, my car started making weird noises and shaking slowly started losing power almost. The noises from the engine sounded almost like UEL headers on a Subaru. A big cloud of whiteish grey smoke came out the exhaust. I could also smell burning gas. I opened the hood and my exhaust manifold has a 3 inch crack in it (it’s been there for over a year) I called a mechanic he came to my house to check out my car used that code reader found out I needed a new fuel injector? (Coil) and I needed 4 new spark plugs. He replaced it all those for me the other day, he just came by today took off the cracked manifold replaced it with a new one but now it’s leaking gas from the engine again I believe? (I haven’t been home to check the car out yet he’s just texting me) so I’ll update this post when I know exactly where it’s coming from. However does anyone know what the initial problem could’ve been? Does anyone know what that could’ve or does sound like? Is it worth fixing if so? Or should I scarp my car..

2023.06.06 03:45 Mister_Way The Higher Self and the Enneagram
The higher self – this is an ancient concept, and it is found throughout human spirituality, religion, philosophy, and culture. But, what is
it, and more importantly, “why are you talking about it in enneagram
The higher self is not something that you have to imagine; you can easily observe it in yourself. The higher self is most easily described first in relation to the lower selves, as they are far more immediately accessible, and together they comprise the higher self. You know them well, and talk about them regularly.
You might say, “I was thinking…” referring to the thoughts you were having. But, aren’t you your thoughts? What is this “I” that was having a thought? It is the higher self, observing the lower self known as “the Head.”
Alternatively, perhaps you will say “I was hungry.” Who is it, exactly that experiences hunger? It is the higher self, who observes hunger, and all the senses and sensations, which are the “thoughts” of the lower self known as “the Gut.”
And, of course, you might say “I felt [an emotion],” which is the higher self experiencing the lower self known as “the Heart.”
Each of these lower selves is a processing center designed to serve the higher self, which is supposed to be making intelligent decisions by examining all of their various outputs and weighing them appropriately in an integrated
, intentional examination.
Each of these three lower selves has three modes it can operate under:
The Heart center has three settings. It can be set to any of these modes of processing:
2 - What should be felt
3 - What others feel
4 - What you feel
The Head center has three settings. It can be set to any of these modes of processing:
5 - What you think
6 - What should be thought
7 - What others think
The gut center has three settings. It can be set to any of these modes of processing.
8 - What you want to do
9 - What others want to do
1 - What should be done
The higher self can turn any of these on at any time, but the higher self tends to fall asleep and allow things to run on autopilot. This is why the first step to achieving any kind of growth is increasing the proportion of the time that you are self-aware, particularly in moments of stress, instead of acting on auto-pilot. Only when the higher self is active can you do anything but what you’ll always automatically do.
What is it that you always automatically do? It’s not a simple list of things, although it can sometimes appear to be that way if your situation remains consistent over a long period. But, what is happening is that while the higher self sleeps, one of the lower selves takes up position as the de facto “higher self,” and it just dominates all of your processing and experience at the expense of the rest of the lower selves.
The lower selves have the potential to work in an integrated
way, all together in harmony, under the direction of the higher self, but they don’t just automatically do so as a natural part of human development. In the ordinary course of human development, the higher self does not recognize its responsibility, and simply watches as the lower selves compete for attention and control, with one center taking over broadly, and each center being dominated by one of its three modes.(this is the reason for tritype being a thing).
The de facto “higher self” cannot adequately replace the true higher self. When the de facto “higher self” tries to consider the inputs from the other lower selves, it cannot help but bias itself against them and in favor of its own output, particularly with regard to the other two in its own center. It also lacks the authority to command the other centers to allocate appropriate distributions of resources to each of their three functions, so it gets skewed inputs from the others, in addition to already being biased in evaluating them.
The degree to which the higher self has abdicated to the de facto “higher self” is measured on the scale of the “levels of health.” The more power and control the de facto “higher self” has been given, the greater the compulsive bias toward that mode the person displays in their being. This is why the less healthy a person is, the more unreasonably “their type” they become, whereas the healthier a person becomes, the more balanced and reasonable they become. It is also why in unhealthy states, a person can behave erratically, as lower selves wrest control for short periods when their concerns have been ignored for too long. It so happens that each type tends to cause a crisis for the lower self which is its “direction of disintegration,” and its wings, such that these are what will most likely be which one takes over when the core type’s lower self is screwing up too much as de facto “higher self.” They don’t do a better job taken alone, but they can, with a little luck, balance out a lot of the extremes and often can maintain a chaotic, disjointed, sometimes self-sabotaging equilibrium.
In contrast, at the highest levels of integration, all of the lower selves are being engaged and considered appropriately and cohesively, so all of the types begin to resemble each other – it is the return to the essence that all humans share – all of the potentials and possibilities of each personality type united within a single individual. When a person has fully integrated, they no longer have any type at all. They are all of the types simultaneously, with the right one in conscious focus at every appropriate moment. Such levels of integration appear godlike to us ordinary people, and indeed, centuries pass between individuals who appear to have achieved them, and their influence is felt throughout the intervening years, and far beyond.
But, though it is unrealistic that we all aspire to be as gods among men, for us mere mortals, this at least provides the path of growth and development which will take us toward those paragons of humanity. It makes it possible to comprehend how it is that such great people as have existed share a species with the rest of us, and how we can become more like them.
What are we to do? Know thyself, not once, not sometimes, but always. Do not fall into auto-pilot, but be present in every moment, choosing always deliberately and with awareness what you are processing and doing. This comes first. From there, all possibilities become potentials, and any potential you choose may become reality. This is the purpose of the enneagram: not mere classification, not mere self-knowledge, but ascension to one’s full potential – the potential we all share, each with our own classified path to find our way to. Learning about the enneagram is about awakening the higher self, developing the soul.
Your higher self is asleep, parked in your “core type.” As it wakes up more and more frequently, you become increasingly free to experience all of the other types that are part of your essential humanity, and to engage them properly with their place in your life, and more importantly, you will be capable of higher levels of processing that are unavailable to the individual lower selves. The higher self is greater than the sum of its parts, as it can provide an integrated consideration of all aspects of all things. This cognitive superpower is the birthright of all people, theoretically free to be claimed by any who will seek it persistently.
But– there’s the catch-22. Until you already sought out your birthright, which grants true persistence, how will you do anything with true persistence, such as seek it out? The lower selves forget the higher purposes, so if the higher self is sleeping, who will be awake to awaken it to the task of awakening?

2023.06.06 03:41 lyridsreign Let's not be quick to dismiss criticism
I bought into Early Access after seeing some reviews and watching my favorite Overwatch streamer play through the first hour of the Early Access launch. I beat Act VI on Saturday night and got into WT3 on early Sunday afternoon. I've seen a lot of justified criticism about the game and some unjustified ones, I'd like to throw my hat into the ring from the perspective of someone who has a lot of experience with ARPGs but not a hardcore player like many others are. The Good:
- The base 1-50 experience is incredibly content rich and while I have some gripes about the story, its presentation is leagues above the competition. Blizzard has always made banger cinematics but now they've extended that talent into much better presentation throughout without having to lean on cinematics as much
- Open world Diablo was something that initially had me worried about the gameplay loop but I was pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong. While nothing groundbreaking or the future of open world ARPG design, it will serve to offer hours of enjoyable gameplay on top of everything else in the base package.
- Legendary imprinting was a system I didn't know I wanted until I played D4. Build crafting not only becomes more accessible for your average ARPG player but it also helps in optimizing the perfect build for the dedicated.
- Nightmare Dungeons take the best aspects of WoWs Mythic+ and incorporate it into the already robust dungeon system Diablo games are known for. Legion and Helltide events are great at selling the idea of spontaneous grouping and strangers working together naturally. Same can also be said for the regular events too but I noticed this more during Legion/Helltides.
- Currencies, mounts, codex, and major renown rewards being account wide is a major boon to this games longevity with the casual community as the barriers to creating alts have lowered significantly.
- Tree of Whispers is a unique and fun way to not only assist in the early endgame gearing but also encourages players to explore zones they may have skipped out on during their leveling
- The first capstone dungeon is a mismatch of ideas that fail to help players transition into WT3. Outside of the final boss the entire dungeon is extremely similar to what you have already been doing but now more elites that barely hurt you exist.
- Builder skills feel incredibly weak to use and don't offer enough resource generation to justify their existence in some cases. Builder-Spender loops need to be engaging at every part not just the dumping phase.
- There are clear winners and losers in every tree. Some abilities are so downright awful that even someone who doesn't like looking up external information will be able to tell when their skill choices were bad. Other abilities feel mandatory for every build, even if it doesn't fit the theme. Necromancer especially took a heavy hit with their minions feeling less like an extension of you and more of a cumbersome to manage damage passive
- World bosses are incredibly rewarding but are also slogs to get through. Lack of variety in encounters coupled with said encounters feeling incredibly basic means there will be little incentive for players to keep returning to them each week unless other gearing methods are tapped out.
- Tile generation for dungeons, cellars, and other instanced areas are far too limited. By the time you have wrapped up the six Acts you will have seen 90% of everything the game can use when it generates a play area for you. While this is somewhat expected due to the nature of ARPGs it still is bound by strict limitations of few tiles to work with.
TL;DR For $70, Diablo 4 is an excellent package that will give you a significant amount of value just from the base 1-50 experience. If you value your time at $1=1 hour of gameplay you'll easily get your worth. However, Diablo 4 has some key issues that we as a community can't plug our ears to because the most vocal critics of it right now are the ultra hardcore

2023.06.06 03:35 chefloyrd Need advice on fixing up an older ride
Hi, I'm not too sure if this is the right place to post, so if I'm in the wrong sorry!
I just received a 1985 Honda elite 250 that hasn't been driven in decades. It only has 650 miles on it and was put aside due to the owner obstinately not getting their motorcycle license.
I'm a DIY inclined type of person but don't have the first clue as to where I should start with this thing. For context I'm comfortable taking apart / repairing washing machines, fridges, typewriters - pretty much anything. Just never had the opportunity to work on a motor vehicle before.
So, where should I start??? Any links to get a dumb dummy like me started would be greatly appreciated!

2023.06.06 03:32 DarksideAuditor [WTS] [USA-TX] [H] A Pair of Sundown Audio SA15-D4 [W] PayPal
Sundown Audio SA-15 V.3 D4 (2 available) - $120 ea. PayPal G/S; used but in great condition; buyer pays shipping. Local pickup in super south texas (rio grande valley) can be accommodated, as well.
15" best suited for ported enclosure
600 watt RMS power handling
19.0 mm X-Max (38mm peak to peak)
The subs were purchased on Amazon in 2019, but were only used temporarily in my home theater. The boxes I built took a long time to finish and did not have a high WAF. I really don't have room to put a pair of these in any other room or in my vehicle, so they need to go now.
