2023.06.07 19:55 RB_Float Question for the other drivers here, especially after seeing the post about the collision control locking his brakes on him.

Am I the only one that just.... sits his foot on the gas pedal for the entire drive?
I hate dealing with the new safety features on trucks too, as I prefer vehicles with as few computers in em as possible (my personal vehicle still has those nice roll-down windows).
But if you already have your foot on the pedal, the ww2-level radar can't lock your brakes after detecting dead air

2023.06.07 19:39 AnnieBananaCat About last night

Hi, again:
Once again, last night's dinner went well, the food and conversation were great, and I was glad to see the two ladies again. The Japanese MD and the other local MD were both warm and friendly, and I really appreciated that. We talked about some previous activities, to a point, but not my leaving or epic letter. They're planning some other activities, and of course, I won't be attending. The MD lives nearby their house and is taking care of his mother alone, so he appreciated the evening.
Then I realized something: I miss some of the people. For all its awful attributes, there are also some great people in SGI, and I'm glad to know them.
The Japanese MD is now 74 years old, (he told me) and he is still driving and working--not retired, and not for a while. (He's an engineer.)
No--I won't be re-joining, of course, and I'm in touch with the ladies who live nearby. One gave me a couple of sewing repair jobs, and I *must* go back when I'm done with them, but I don't mind. :) Hopefully I can bring my honey over there to see their gorgeous house. They know him and like him, too, but they're just likeable people.
I'm overdue to meet another elderly lady for coffee, too. One of the ladies said she ran into Miss V the other day but they weren't able to chat much.
Also in touch with a few other members in New Orleans and elsewhere, but others, not really. The WD leader in another city I was talking to a couple of weeks ago sees me on Instagram, too.
By and large, I guess that is the worst part of all this is missing out on the connections that weren't just for the org. But I guess those filter through, right?
Well, onward. Enjoy the cats!

2023.06.07 19:27 jaybeans21 MLB expansion with new divisions

I'm about to start a new OOTP game when I started thinking that I wanted to play in a greatly expanded MLB structure and have it where divisions are based on specific locations rather than the vague east, central, and west.
Another goal was to add a little more international flair by including two new teams from Canada and starting two new Mexican teams.
A caveat is that I tried to make it so that cities didn't have two teams (like say New York or Chicago) but kept teams if they played in nearby towns (like Baltimore / Washington DC or San Francisco / Oakland).
So, here's my working list so far:

Eastern Conference

East Division
North Division
Mid-Atlantic Division
Southeast Division
Gulf Division

Western Conference

Midwest Division
Central Division
Pacific Division
West Division
Southwest Division
So those are my divisions. Take a look and let me know what you think, and if there's any cities you'd have added!

Watch Online:👉 Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Movie
Now Is Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse available to stream? Is watching Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse on Disney Plus, HBO Max, Netflix, or Amazon Prime? Yes, we have found an authentic streaming option/service. A 1950s housewife living with her husband in a utopian experimental community begins to worry that his glamorous company could be hiding disturbing secrets.

How to Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

At the moment, you can watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at your local theater. But like most movies these days, it should hit a streaming website in the near future.
Like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a flick produced by multimedia conglomerate Disney. What’s more, the production studio owns a number of other famous franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Star Wars. Titles made under these umbrellas have both hit Disney+ sometime after arriving at the box office. Fans may also know the original Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently available to stream on the site as well. So, if the 2023 version follows the same pattern, folks will likely get to see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Disney+ later this year too.
As for an exact release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, that’s more complicated. Most movies produced by Disney often go to its streamer site within three months after debuting in theaters, like the most recent Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. If this is the case for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it will probably drop in late August 2023 or sometime near Labor Day in early September.
When the time comes for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to splash onto Disney+ though, make sure you’re all prepared to watch it. If you don’t have access yet, you can opt into a 30-day free trial before choosing a plan that start at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. After your account is all set, click on the title page on Disney+’s official website or the Disney+ app.
As you wait for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to hit the streamer, why don’t you watch the animated version and its sequel Spider-Man: into the Spider-Verse? Or if you want to immerse yourself in another live-action version, click on the 2019 ABC TV special Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Live!. Enjoy!

Where To Watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Online:

As of now, the only way to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is to head out to a movie theater when it premieres on June 2, 2023. You can find a local showing on Fandango.
Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait for it to become available to rent or purchase on digital platforms like Amazon, Vudu, YouTube or Apple, or become available to stream on Disney+.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix?

Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix approximately in December 2023.
In 2021, Sony and Netflix signed a five-year deal that gave the latter exclusive first-pay-window U.S. streaming rights for Sony Pictures titles after their theatrical and home entertainment windows. Fans can expect to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix six months after the film’s theatrical release, thus in December 2023. The date seems reasonable considering that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped on Netflix on June 26, 2019, six months after its U.S. release on December 14, 2018. The pay-one window usually begins about nine months after a film’s theatrical release, but it might start earlier in particular cases.
This post will be updated once there is a 100% officially confirmed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Netflix release date.

When Will Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Be Available On Netflix?

Regarding when the film will be available on Netflix, the answer is less definitive. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, began streaming six months after its theatrical release. Based on this, it is safe to assume Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see a similar gap between its cinematic and streaming releases. Given the film’s theatrical release of June 2, 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely begin streaming on Netflix in December 2023.
This tracks with some of Sony’s bigger releases of 2022. Films like Uncharted and Bullet Train were released on Netflix six and five months respectively after their release in theaters. Of course, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse could have other elements that see it release before or after this tentative six-month period, such as underperforming or exceeding expectations at the box office. Although, based on Sony’s track record – including that of the first film – Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse can be expected on Netflix in the winter of 2023, likely December for a holiday release.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Disney Plus?

Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is also coming to Disney Plus approximately in 2025.
Once the pay-one window runs its time and Netflix’s exclusive rights expire, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on Disney Plus. The pay-one window might last as long as 18 months, which means it will be a while before Disney Plus subscribers can watch the much-anticipated sequel. Unlike in other countries, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t yet available on the Disney-owned streamer in the U.S.
American fans will have to wait until 2024 to watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and at least until 2025 for its sequel. We will update this post once there is an official Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Disney Plus release date.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse comes from a joint effort of directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson. The movie will swing into theaters on June 2, featuring the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, among others.

Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be On HBO Max?

No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Available On Hulu?

Viewers are saying that they want to view the new animation movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. It will be exclusive to the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service

When Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be on DVD and Blu-ray? Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely be coming to DVD and Blu-ray around the same time as the streaming release. With theatrical films, on average, coming to streaming sooner than ever (usually ninety days after theatrical release), we’ll likely see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse get a DVD, and Blu-ray release no later than Fall 2023.

2023.06.07 18:52 MalikTH A legacy player's take on TCGO vs TCGL

I first played TCGO in Gen 5 during its open beta. I had the beta deck box, sleeves, and coin to show for it. Unfortunately, you'll simply have to take my word for this, as they were not included in the migration to TCGL. I hadn't played TCGO before its shutdown for quite a long time, as I have been focused on my Computer Technology studies and the like. I migrated to TCGL after the old game was discontinued a couple of days ago.
TL;DR: TCGL is not perfect and has a lot of work ahead of it, but TCGO desperately needed a new game and TCGL has lots of potential to be something great and better than it, assuming TPCi doesn't drop the game.
I've had a blast playing TCGL so far. Unfortunately I didn't audit my collection before migrating, but I generally only plan on playing Standard, climbing the ladder, progressing in the BP, and just trying to enjoy the TCG in a way that actually allows me to find people.
At the same time, TCGL is far from being without flaw. I've made a discussion topic on the community forums with my feedback, and I'll be adding to it the more I play the game. I recommend you look at it and add to it yourself, but here is a short list of my gripes with the new game for those that don't want to:
On the topic of trading, since I see that is/was a hot topic here: there are few to no virtual TCG games that do trading nowadays, and I think TPCi made the right call by moving to a crafting system in TCGL. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel and MTG Arena, games also based off of real-life TCGs, both lack trading and have a similar system to getting cards as TCGL, and they seem to work fairly well, so I don't think we need a trading system for a game whose primary focus is battling. The trading system was likely kept in TCGO because it was already heavily integrated into the game; otherwise, I think it's mostly a result of the game being one of the first virtual TCGs to come out that was based off of or replicating an already existing real-life TCG, and so they had to figure out how that would work to begin with.
I do think TCGO needed to be either massively reworked or replaced with a new game. Since the game has been out for quite a long time, I'm sure a new game has been on TPCi's radar for a long while. I certainly agree with them when they say they will be able to update underlying technologies; refreshing their backend with a new game will allow them to more effectively update and maintain the game down the road, even if it's in ways we can't see yet. TCGO played well, but in many ways it was due for an update. I don't like the old avatars and I think something new was in order (not that the avatars or art style in TCGL are any better, but TPCi already know this, looking at the Oct 2022 community letter). Plus, TCGO's mobile version was only officially available on tablets iirc, so I never got to try it.
The current state of TCGL looks bleak on the surface, but I'm excited for the future. They have to fix various things if they want TCGL to be an extension of the overall TCG brand like they claim. Of course, I said something similar with the main series games prior to Scarlet/Violet and the overall performance mess that was, so we'll just have to wait and see... but I'm hoping they take feedback into consideration. I really do think TCGL can be on par with or better than TCGO given time and effort from the devs, but that's only possible if we share with them what made TCGO nice to play so they can reimplement those ideas into TCGL.
...Enough about what I think, though: is there anything in particular you'd like to see fixed or added (back) into TCGL? What are your overall thoughts on the game right now, and do you see it improving in the future?

2023.06.07 18:45 brie27420 Help w/Suggestions for bands/songs to incorporate some NOLA Brass into an East Coast Wedding?

May be the totally wrong place to ask this but I'm pretty stumped.
Trying to plan music for our reception as authentically us as we are the wedding.
Born and bred white jersey girl but I adore, respect, admire, whatever adjective you want to add, New Orleans culture and music. I really want to incorporate some into the DJ's set list.
Professor Longhair may be a stretch, but if people can get down to Stevie Wonder surely they can get down to some NOLA brass.
Any suggestions for slightly more "accessible" nola jazz/blue/brass I can use to show these NY/NJ fist pumping, black eyed peas singing, "September" loving guests what they're missing?
