2023.03.20 20:36 seelassilas Need help securing GRC
Hey guys!
Recently I have found a dealership with an allocated GR Corolla headed to their dealership. However the issue is they are a first come first serve basis. Was there anyway to know where the car is at? I checked the Toyota VIN tracker and it says freight right now with no ETA of ground. Is there a way to get a more accurate location?
Thanks!

2023.03.20 20:08 maronnax Should I keep changing my transmission fluid? 2002 Toyota 4Runner
Total newbie mechanic over here, have now made my way through a few basic repairs on my 2002 Toyota 4Runner. It has 185K miles on it, I bought it with 125K or so. I have no idea what the history of the car was prior to me owning it (bought it used from a dealer who did a 50 point inspection for whatever that's worth; probably nothing). I haven't done much/any preventative maintenance on it besides oil changes until about 5K miles ago when I decided to start doing whatever work I could myself.
Long story short, when I went to do my first/the car's last oil change 5K miles ago I fucked up and accidentally drained the transmission fluid, which was pretty darn black when it came out. I got Toyota's ATF and refilled it and everything has been fine for the 5K since w/ no transmission issues.
My question is whether I should do a couple more drain/fills over the next couple oil changes to just replace it over time and get back on the maintenance schedule. This is easy enough, but a few people I've talked with have said that if you end up with super old ATF in a vehicle, then you probably shouldn't change it at all b/c new fluid will ... react poorly with the transmission and cause it to lose coatings and that I may have lucked out by not screwing up my transmission with that drain/fill. Ie. "Don't ever touch it again!"
What's my best move here? Definitely change it? Definitely don't change it? Unclear what to do but I should expect 10 very strong and contradictory opinions?

2023.03.20 20:01 jorgebsferreira Toyota Corolla D4d won't go past 2000 RPM + some smoke
Hey, I have a Toyota Corolla D4d from 2005 (NDE120). Last few days the car has been entering in what apparently is safe mode. No power to go past 2000 RPM. If it's uphill, the car will eventually stop because it doesn't have power. At times I think I noticed some smoke.
This has happened like 5/10 times now. Sometimes it happens while doing 80KM/h, sometimes it's 60KM/H. Sometimes it goes away by itself, after a minute, if it's downhill. Last time I had to pull over and shut the car down because the car did not have the strength to go uphill. Turned it back on after 5 min and it was working normally again. Took the car to Toyota today. They told me they did a test drive but that didn't happen to them.
Any advice?

2023.03.20 19:59 Agnostalypse Bringing back an old buddy and learning a new OS
| Recently decided to resurrect an old PC from like 2010 that my brother and I built. It was one of the last projects we did with my late best friend and I've kept it around for sentimental value. Booted it up the other day and it kept crashing, reinstalled Windows with no luck, so decided to try it with Linux and did a fresh install of Ubuntu. Seemed to be working fine until I tried to install anything, then it would restart randomly or power off altogether. I was ready to write it off as a faulty PSU until I realized it had a 10+ year old CMOS battery. Replaced it and it seems to be working fine now, fingers crossed! I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for games that run well on Ubuntu or must-haves for people who are newer to Linux? PS: Yes, the front USB ports are rusty- it was stored in a garage briefly while I was away. I'm just lucky it never became a mouse hotel! I drive a 1989 Toyota Corolla SR5 (Automatic), and was wondering if you recommend any motor mount brands to check out?
Been having a vibration problem that I planned on fixing for a while. Been trying to source OEM mounts but haven’t had any luck on eBay or the junk yard.
Have any idea where I can find mounts of similar quality? Or even close to it.
Thank you.

2023.03.20 16:36 NoLoad4693 Car still vibrating
I have been having a vibration issue in my 2020 Toyota Corolla. It has 56700 miles on it. I have taken it to many mechanics and no one was able to repeat the issue. I feel it in the steering wheel, seat, and floor. I'm unsure what to do at this point. Should I ask the dealership for a new car or maybe try new tires? It has cheap tires but when spun on the balancer they only wobble a little bit the mechanics have said.

2023.03.20 15:57 Reylend I DID IT LADS!!! MY 20just08 TOYOTA COROLLA!!
2023.03.20 15:26 neon_metal1990 New car or keep fixing old one...at a cross.
Hello Fellow Frugal Family! I'm new to the sub and wanted to make my first post something I've been back and forth on for a while.
So, I've been contemplating getting a new car, but have a mostly fine working old one. I have an '05 Mazda 3 hatchback with 156k miles on it. Recently, I've had to fix three transmission leaks, fuel system service, alignment, among some other things and have spent around $1500 this year alone on various things. My car works fine and mostly has some cosmetic problems. However, I was recently told by two mechanics that I need new camber arms and stabilizer bars, which will run me near another $1400.
The frugal fella in me can't help that think it is time for an upgrade. I know a new car doesn't just fix all problems, since you still have to do maintenance on it, higher insurance, etc. I have great credit and plan to pay enough down so my payment is not massive >$300. I've been looking at newer Toyota Corolla hatchbacks, since I like hatchbacks obviously lol but haven't pulled the trigger. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

2023.03.20 12:52 gold_sparkle Advice on High Beam Headlights - Toyota Corolla
Hello,
I hope this is the right place to post this.
I just wanted some advice regarding my non-functioning high beam headlights. Both my headlights are not turning-on on high beam. The low beams are working fine (although, I think they are dimmer than usual.)
I am, however, able to
flash my high beams when I pull the lever all the way back; the high beams just won't turn on by themselves when set.
This has led me to believe that there may be a problem with my relay. I've ruled out a bad fuse, because if the fuse was bad, I would not have been able to flash my high beams at all, right?
Do cars have different relays for high and low beam headlights? Sorry, this is my first time at this as this is my first car, so I do not know. Whatever I have learnt is by having watched some YouTube videos.
I looked at the Toyota parts
catalogue, but I could not find information regarding headlight relays.
Any push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

2023.03.20 12:35 DotaWemps Keskustelunavaus: Missä asiat ovat paremmin kuin Suomessa? (liipaten aihetta Suomi on maailman onnellisin maa)
- Uusi-Seelanti: Toimiva yhteiskunta, upea luonto

2023.03.20 10:05 hhasdhadqw Deposit refund from dealership VIC
Recently entered into a contract and put down a deposit with a Toyota dealership for a Toyota Corolla. Salesperson said they could have it to me within 2-3 months but the contract sets the delivery date as September. It felt a bit dodgy but at the time I had signed anyways as he seemed genuine.
Anyways now I need to exit out, any chances I would be getting the full deposit refunded?

2023.03.20 05:46 mrc874 I bought a $108,000 used BMW M8 at Pacific BMW, Gave me a very bad experience!
| I bought a $108,000 used BMW M8 at Pacific BMW, The sales agent name is Axx Mxxxxxxxx The driver's door is missing a projector light, not damaged, But there's a hole in the door, and there's no light there, https://ibb.co/6bPRDHv There are 2 small holes in the windshield, The most exaggerated is! The two tires in front of me are different brands! https://ibb.co/D5pMkg1 https://ibb.co/4ppr4yh I trust them so much that I didn't double check the vehicle, Because they are a BMW factory direct store, They're not a little used car shop down the road, But the quality of their car is like a $10000 car! And the car I bought was a $108,000 BMW M8! I spoke to my rep about what happened to me He suddenly told me that the used car of BMW M8 can install tires of different brands on the left and right front wheels! This is unbelievable! The picture is the message record between me and him. https://ibb.co/tMnLsDq My experience with this BMW dealership was absolutely terrible! I will never buy any BMW car in the future!
