2023.06.06 18:07 Guyrannosaurus The Dragon Knight (AI generated build)

I just discovered something wonderful, you can use AI to build the basis of your builds based off an idea. I have made a few so far, but I was so excited about this that I made a reddit account after lurking for years in order to share with y'all my favorite / the one I intend to play in my next game. I have also included the prompts I used. Let me know what you think!
Prompt: "Using elements from fallout 4 and full creative liberty, write a detailed pre-war and post-war character backstory as well as armor and weapon ideas based on the following prompt: Upon escaping vault 111 and finding the world destroyed, he loses his mind and thinks he is a fantasy hero called "The Dragon Knight" who has to avenge his wife and save his son from an evil order of mages."
Nate was always a nerdy kid who loved comics, especially Grognak the Barbarian. He even created his own tabletop RPG character based on the comic, a brutal warrior named the Dragon Knight, who wielded a sword and a shield and wore a dragon-shaped helmet.
Nate grew up in a turbulent time, as the United States was engaged in a long and brutal war with China over natural resources. He felt a sense of duty and patriotism, and he decided to join the military when he was 18. He enlisted in the 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army, and he proved to be an excellent soldier. He was trained in using power armor, which gave him an edge on the battlefield. He fought bravely in several battles against the Chinese forces, earning medals and commendations for his valor.
His unit nicknamed him "The Dragon Knight" after his tabletop RPG character, because of how effective he was in power armor and because Nate often joked that he was fighting dragons instead of communists, and that he was looking for his princess in the wasteland. At times he could be brutal, being the soldier his country needed him to be. His bravery and conviction lead him to be merciless yet effective in the heat of battle. He had a dark side buried under his joyful and nerdy exterior, one that only his enemies ever saw.
After the war Nate met Nora, a young lawyer from Boston, at a comic book convention. They instantly hit it off, sharing their love for comics and RPGs. They got married soon after, and moved to Sanctuary Hills, a peaceful suburb near Concord. They had a son, Shaun, who was born in 2077. Nate was overjoyed to be a father, and he hoped to pass on his love for comics and RPGs to his son. Nora even surprised him by programming their personal Mister Handy, Codsworth, to call him "Mr. Dragon Knight" as a prank.
On October 23rd, 2077, Nate was preparing for an event at the Veteran's Hall in Concord, where he was supposed to give a speech about his war experiences. He was nervous but excited, and he hoped to inspire others with his story. However, his plans were cut short when a Vault-Tec representative visited his family to inform them that they had pre-approved admittance into Vault 111, a nearby underground shelter. Moments later, a news bulletin warned them of an imminent nuclear attack, which forced Nate, Nora and Shaun to rush to the vault, leaving Codsworth behind.
After entering the vault, they were placed in cryo-sleep by the Vault-Tec scientists, under the guise of decontamination. Nate had no idea that he would be frozen for over two centuries.
In 2227, he was disturbed from his cryogenic sleep by Conrad Kellogg and two unknown Institute scientists, whose intention was to acquire Shaun; as his DNA was the 'purest' source available to the Institute for their experiments. Nate watched helplessly as Kellogg shot Nora dead and took Shaun away. He tried to break free from his pod, but he was too weak and fell unconscious.
He woke up again in 2287, when his pod malfunctioned due to a power outage. He found himself alone in the vault, surrounded by dead bodies. He managed to escape from the vault and returned to Sanctuary Hills, where he found Codsworth still functioning.
Codsworth greeted him with joy and called him "Mr. Dragon Knight" as usual. However, this triggered something in Nate's mind. The trauma of losing his wife and son, combined with the shock of seeing the post-apocalyptic world, had shattered his sanity. He could not cope with reality anymore.
He started to believe that he was actually The Dragon Knight, his tabletop RPG character. He thought that he had been transported to a new unknown land. He thought that Nora was his Queen who had been assassinated, and that Shaun was his heir who had been taken away. Both crimes committed by a secret dark order of mages and their army of undead abominations. He thought that Codsworth was his loyal pet dragon, and that his power armor was his dragon armor.
He decided to embark on a quest to find and rescue his family. He would stop at nothing, and once again became the warrior he needed to be, becoming equally as savage and brutal as the new realm he found himself in. He also hoped to find other heroes who would join him in his quest. Such as Grognak the Barbarian, who gives Nate his trusty axe as a sign of their brotherhood.
"Thank you, now create a standard build for that character using starting perk point allocation, and important perks. I would like it to be vats centered due to using Grognaks axe. Make it viable for survival mode."
Starting SPECIAL:
Strength: 9 Perception: 1 Endurance: 3 Charisma: 1 Intelligence: 6 Agility: 3 Luck: 5
Important Perks:
Strength: Big Leagues, Blacksmith, Rooted Perception: None Endurance: Toughness, Lifegiver Charisma: None Intelligence: Science!, Nuclear Physicist, Armorer Agility: Action Boy/Girl Luck: Bloody Mess, Idiot Savant, Better Criticals, Critical Banker
Build Explanation:
Strength is still the most important stat for this build, as it increases melee damage and allows access to perks like Big Leagues, Blacksmith, and Rooted.
Perception is still not important for this build, as you will be relying on V.A.T.S. to hit your targets and not aiming manually. Endurance is still moderately important, as it gives you more health and allows access to perks like Toughness and Lifegiver.
Charisma is still not important for this build, as you will not be using it for dialogue or settlement building. Instead, you will use Idiot Savant to gain more experience despite your low Charisma. Agility is less important for this build, as you will have less Action Points due to your high Strength and Intelligence. However, you still want to have some Agility to access perks like Action Boy/Girl, which increases your Action Point regeneration.
Luck is also less important for this build, as you will have less critical hit chance due to your low Luck. However, you still want to have some Luck to access perks like Bloody Mess, which gives you more damage and a chance to make enemies explode, Better Criticals, which makes your critical hits do more damage, and Critical Banker, which lets you store up to four critical hits for later use.
Intelligence is significant for this build, as it gives you access to perks that enhance your power armor performance. Science! lets you modify your power armor with better effects such as jetpacks and stealth fields. Nuclear Physicist makes your fusion cores last longer and lets you eject them as powerful explosives. Armorer lets you improve your power armor’s defense and resistance.
This build is viable for survival mode, as it can deal massive damage with melee weapons and survive a lot of punishment with power armor. However, it may struggle with enemies that attack from a distance or have high armor. You may want to carry a backup ranged weapon for emergencies.

2023.06.06 18:01 adrienne90 Husband (34M) "forbidding" me (33F) from going to a club, I canceled my plans with friends, and he is upset I even tried (but also war-related)

We have been together total 5 years. From the beginning, I have known he disliked club culture and such, and as we met in our later 20s, I was over all that anyway and never enjoyed. I agreed that I don't like clubs and probably would not go, and during our dating and marriage, I never went. Recently, a friend will be hosting a small party at a club in our town. If you ask me, it hardly counts as a club, it's more of a small bar with rooms, food, etc. DJ and dancing happens more at night, past 11PM. Her party will start at 6PM, in a private room, and consist of 5 women total, and probably her husband later in the evening. I accepted the invitation of course.
I told my husband about this and he did not care at first, until I told him the location. He got very annoyed with me and said that we are going "clubbing." I tried to tell him what kind of place this is (yes, technically called a "club," but we have a room and it's a birthday party, not like we are dancing with everybody, we probably won't dance at all. More like a "lounge.") He refuses to listen. We had a major fight about this with him actually forbidding me to go. I told him he can't forbid me from anything, and he was very serious, yes he forbids me and I cannot go. Also I will mention that in our culture, men typically go out like this but women, especially married women, should not because it looks bad on the couple, looks bad for the women, bad on the man, and men can't understand we can also go out to dance, not to just find sex partners or cheat. This is a common mentality. We do live in the US and I am much more Westernized but he is also trying. So please understand, there are some cultural nuance here as well. But still, this is not very common behavior from him generally, he is not a super controlling person, he is not a stereotypical chauvinist type - this has begun only after the war in Ukraine. He has been very affected.
So fine, I conceded to him. I won't go. But now he is still upset and annoyed with me that I even tried to go at all, without telling him what it was. But I was never trying to hide it... to me, he is sulking like a child. I asked him what else I can do, and rolled my eyes and he got very angry with me. Now we are in a stalemate and I feel mad I can't go, mad that he is mad, and he is mad that I wanted to go, and mad that I was mad. I apologized but he says that I don't really care what I did and it's just words.
This kind of instance happens more and more. I try to let things go more, but he seems to be more and more nitpicky. I mention that he has lost a relative in the war recently and it's made him more sensitive and of course, of course I try to be understanding of that. It has made him anxious and controlling towards me to protect me, psychologically trying to control something in the world. That is the thought I have. But it is driving me crazy. We went to counseling but have stopped because it wasn't helpful. Now he doesn't ever want to go again, and buries himself in work and wants me near him at all times.
What can I do?? I understand his psychological state and I am not a cold person. But I want to be free sometimes. Birthday parties, not such a big deal? Without outside counseling, what can I do to try to fix this situation, or at least make it a better for him and reassure him that things will be okay?
TLDR: Husband and I had a huge fight about me wanting to go to a club for a friend's party (private room, not really clubbing) and he even said he "forbids" me. I got angry about that but agreed to cancel, but then he stayed mad at me for even wanting to go at all. We just never fixed this fight and we are both still mad at each other. He has been sensitive and controlling ever since the war in Ukraine because he has family there and also recently lost a relative. This is the cause of his behavior, he wasn't so intense like this before. But what can I do to reassure him?? He will not go to counseling anymore (we tried and it was a failure) and he just works all day, and wants me to stay with him. What else can I do to be understanding of the situation, and also help him see we are safe here and we have to continue to live our lives??

2023.06.06 18:00 escapeyourghost I can’t send this letter because I know you’ll never read it.

I wish I could let you go.
I wish I didn’t see you in my dreams every night. I wish I didn’t miss you so badly that I lose myself in the ghost of your memory.
It’s hard for me to accept that you don’t care. I thought you were going to be my best friend for life. After all the times I stayed up with you when you had nightmares, literally wiped the tears from your face, held you and rocked you back and forth, supported your body on my own when you couldn’t sit up, stood outside in the freezing cold by your side so you could breathe and not feel alone; you still don’t believe that I ever genuinely loved you.
I put your feelings before mine. When you hurt me (even when you meant to) I forgave you because I knew that beneath the pain and anger you felt, you were a good person. You were my person. I know and accept that you’ll remain in my heart and in my head, and that I’ll keep missing you and wishing you were here.
I can’t take back the things I said when I was broken. I told you I didn’t want to be your friend because you were mean to me. I spent weeks marinating in that wrath. I understand that you were mean because you didn’t feel safe. Despite those things, I wouldn’t change you or trade you for anyone. We built our walls around each other. We could talk for hours. I can’t describe how much I miss the sound of your voice.
I wish you would come back. I wish we could play tears of the kingdom together. I wish we could play Pokémon and watch Survivor. I wish I could wake up and see your mop of curls next to mine. I wish we could go skating in the park on the nice days and sit in your car on the shitty days.
More than anything else I wish it wasn’t goodbye forever.
Outside of my girlfriend (and not romantically) I loved you in a way I could never love anyone else. There will never ever be another you. At one point I told you that’s what I wanted. It’s not what I wanted. It’s what felt better in the moment. If it was so easy for you to pretend I didn’t exist when you were angry, then you could just forget we ever existed in the same space. Maybe you have by now. Maybe that’s better for you.
I desperately hope that you’re happy and safe. I hope that you find someone who can see you the way I saw you. I hope they love you unconditionally. I wish I could let you go. You’re sewn into my skin. I can’t cut you out. I can’t ever love or trust anyone like that again. No, it’s not all your fault, and I’m not mad. It’s just that the space is reserved for you. I’ll keep it open forever, even if it means there will continue to be something missing.
No amount of anger or sadness was worth losing you. Your beautiful soul was a gift from the universe. I refuse to believe you were only a lesson to learn. And yeah, I’ll always love you. Always.

So, if the 2023 version follows the same pattern, folks will likely get to see Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Disney+ later this year too.

As for an exact release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, that’s more complicated. Most movies produced by Disney often go to its streamer site within three months after debuting in theaters, like the most recent Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. If this is the case for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it will probably drop in late August 2023 or sometime near Labor Day in early September.
When the time comes for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to splash onto Disney+ though, make sure you’re all prepared to watch it. If you don’t have access yet, you can opt into a 30-day free trial before choosing a plan that start at $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. After your account is all set, click on the title page on Disney+’s official website or the Disney+ app.

As you wait for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse to hit the streamer, why don’t you watch the animated version and its sequel Spider-Man: into the Spider-Verse? Or if you want to immerse yourself in another live-action version, click on the 2019 ABC TV special Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Live!. Enjoy!

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Netflix?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix approximately in December 2023.
In 2021, Sony and Netflix signed a five-year deal that gave the latter exclusive first-pay-window U.S. streaming rights for Sony Pictures titles after their theatrical and home entertainment windows. Fans can expect to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse on Netflix six months after the film’s theatrical release, thus in December 2023. The date seems reasonable considering that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dropped on Netflix on June 26, 2019, six months after its U.S. release on December 14, 2018. The pay-one window usually begins about nine months after a film’s theatrical release, but it might start earlier in particular cases.
This post will be updated once there is a 100% officially confirmed Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Netflix release date.

When Will Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Be Available On Netflix?
Regarding when the film will be available on Netflix, the answer is less definitive. The first film, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, began streaming six months after its theatrical release. Based on this, it is safe to assume Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will see a similar gap between its cinematic and streaming releases. Given the film’s theatrical release of June 2, 2023, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will likely begin streaming on Netflix in December 2023.

This tracks with some of Sony’s bigger releases of 2022. Films like Uncharted and Bullet Train were released on Netflix six and five months respectively after their release in theaters. Of course, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse could have other elements that see it release before or after this tentative six-month period, such as underperforming or exceeding expectations at the box office. Although, based on Sony’s track record – including that of the first film – Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse can be expected on Netflix in the winter of 2023, likely December for a holiday release.

Is Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse coming to Disney Plus?
Yes, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is also coming to Disney Plus approximately in 2025.

Once the pay-one window runs its time and Netflix’s exclusive rights expire, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be available on Disney Plus. The pay-one window might last as long as 18 months, which means it will be a while before Disney Plus subscribers can watch the much-anticipated sequel. Unlike in other countries, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse isn’t yet available on the Disney-owned streamer in the U.S.
American fans will have to wait until 2024 to watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and at least until 2025 for its sequel. We will update this post once there is an official Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Disney Plus release date.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse comes from a joint effort of directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson. The movie will swing into theaters on June 2, featuring the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, among others.

Will Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Be On HBO Max?
No, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will not be on HBO Max since it’s not a Universal Pictures movie. Last year, the company released its films in theaters and on the streamer on the same day. However, they now allow a 45-day window between the theatrical release and the streaming release.

2023.06.06 17:50 rsjmg1992 Autism in Pro Wrestling

Hello everyone! My name is Richie Jewell and I am 30 years old and I have autism since being diagnosed at 2 and a half years old. I want to share my love for professional wrestling. By doing so, I'm going to share this story to all of you to be inspired. Hope you will enjoy it.
Just like everyone else in the world. I went through some stuff that has been very difficult, challenging and emotional for me to endure life difficulties while living with autism. I have endured teasing, depression, complications from the disability such as lack of social skills, bad speech and improper eye contact, suffer from seizures time to time. It's very difficult to live through these quirks. However, despite all of that, the one thing that has keep thriving life was watching and following wrestling. I love professional wrestling. .
For every story, there has to be a beginning. For every superhero, there was a origin. Before Batman, there was Bruce Wayne. Before Spider-Man, there was Peter Parker. Before Hulk Hogan, there was Terry Bollea. You get the point. Before, I became a BJJ practitioner and a huge wrestling fiend, I was just a kid with no social life, looking for a hobby. So where do I begin with loving pro wrestling?
At a young age, I was a little kid who had no friends and no social life, went to school, and played Nintendo 64 after hours like a typical 1990s boy. I used to be obsessed with playing Super Mario 64, Mario Kart, Banjo-Kazooie, Super Smash Bros and most of all WWF No Mercy, which is still regarded as the greatest pro wrestling game for the 64 ever. I used to play these games on routine, putting in hours and hours of playtime and hard effort. One day, my older brother caught me playing No Mercy and said pro wrestling is on, wanna watch it? Confused as I was, I thought he was yanking my chain because the 7-8 year old me thought it would be fictional but at the same time, sparked my curiosity. What would happen next?
I saw pro wrestling live on tv witnessing wrestlers like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and The Undertaker in real life, not a video game. I was completely shocked! I saw blood, women being beaten up, occasional swearing and my mother being absolutely horrified what me and my brother were watching, made us change the channel. Being upset at her and tried to cut a promo just like Dwayne Johnson did on tv. Let me just say, it landed me on timeout for a good while. I was so determined to watch pro wrestling live again and needed to find a way, to get back on it again.
One day, I saw a disc of all the WrestleManias from 1985 to 2000 in highlights. Everybody was doing something outdoors and of course, I was the only one indoors, I had the opportunity to watch pro wrestling after a while of no watching it. 8 year old me saw the likes of Andre the Giant, Roddy Piper, Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, Bam Bam Bigelow, Shawn Michaels and of course, my favorite pro wrestler to study- Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart. The match that cemented my love pro wrestling was from WrestleMania 13 in 1997: Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Bret Hart in a Submission match with UFC legend Ken Shamrock as the ref. It was in highlights but I was in complete awe by the imagery, the performances by both men, and the shot of Austin bleeding from his forehead, screaming in pain, refusing to submit has been imprinted in my head and made me go: HOLY SHIT!
In my estimation, this is a perfect wrestling match. I think fans often times lose sight about what workrate actually is and forget that, at its core, pro wrestling is theatrical storytelling in a sport. This match is the culmination of a heated issue between the grizzled vet Bret Hart who feels disrespected and disgusted at the direction the World Wrestling Federation has taken, and Steve Austin, the brash, foul mouthed rising star who'll fight anyone and embodies the new attitude in professional wrestling. The story of this match is beautiful violence that's at once messy and perfectly executed. Everyone knows the finish, but how we get there is masterclass storytelling from two of the best to ever do it. It has the most important double turn in pro wrestling history. 5 stars. 10 out of 10. Which ever metric you choose, this match stands as one of the finest in the history of the medium. This is what pro wrestling is all about and is still stands today- my favorite wrestling match of all time.
Although wrestling had it's up and downs over the years, It was helping me to cope through all the hardship I have endured. From WWE, ROH, IMPACT Wrestling (formerly known as TNA Wrestling), Lucha Underground, PWG, All Japan Pro Wrestling , Stardom, New Japan Pro Wrestling and GCW. I am very thankful for the sport that has helped to cope through and gave me wonderful moments to witness from my own eyes. I go to wrestling events, meet and greets or fanfests to live in the moment, its totally amazing. If it wasn't for the sport, I wouldn't know where I would be today. Being a pro-wrestling fan today isn’t only about watching television and premium live events, though. It’s also about community. I’ve built friendships with fellow fans people whose views I’ve come to respect and rely upon. I exchange messages with them about our thoughts, feelings, and hopes, pro-wrestling always at the center of our discussions. It’s thanks to them that I don’t feel isolated in darkness. I’m grateful that I’m here and still standing, writing this blog after everything has been thrown at me. Its therapy, its art and it’s goddamn amazing.
Now i’m at 30 years, I understand a lot more now, I appreciated the athletes for putting their time in to help us, get amazed by their passion, commitment and sacrificing their bodies for entertainment. I love learning about promotions, facts, stories, learning about pro wrestlers because its fun to learn. I have met over 67 pro wrestlers and still counting including my favorite Bret the Hitman Hart, spread my story to them and help understand autism awareness. I still find it amazing to witness pro wrestlers in person and I go, holy shit they are actually human, to praise talent or say hello to them. They are humans just like you and me. Behind every persona in the ring, there’s a person going through a mental obstacle right now that they are fighting.
My love for pro wrestling has lead me to some beautiful accomplishments. One of them is doing Brazilian Jujitsu training where i’m currently a blue belt so Im learning all kinds of submissions, grappling, even more pro wrestling history and background of certain wrestlers. It’s been my escape from troubles like depression, anxiety, seizures, and plenty of horrible shit I’ve seen in my life for many years. It holds a special place in my heart. It’s a love story to me. Its a romantic relationship to me. It has its agreements, disagreements, fights, tragedies, highlights, the good and the bad but at the end, its still with me at my side since the age of 5 when I started playing pro wrestling games. It’s the longest, complicated but beautiful relationship I have been in. That’s why I call pro wrestling a wonderful masterpiece of art and a beautiful love story.
If I could snap my fingers and be non-autistic, I would not because then, it wouldn't be me. Autism is part of who I am and what made me so unique. This who I am and whom I always will be. I am Richie Jewell.

Element79 Gold Announces Execution of Agreement with Centra Mining Ltd. for Sale of Properties from Battle Mountain Portfolio in Nevada (CSE:ELEM, OTC:ELMGF, FSE: 7YS)

VANCOUVER, BC / THENEWSWIRE / May 25, 2023 – Element 79 Gold Corp. (CSE:ELEM) (OTC:ELMGF) (FSE: 7YS) ("Element 79 Gold", the "Company") announces that, further to its November 17, 2022 release, the Company has entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement (the "Agreement") for the sale of two properties from its Battle Mountain Portfolio located in the gold mining district of northeastern Nevada, US to a subsidiary of Centra Mining Ltd. ("Centra").
Under the terms of the Agreement, Centra has agreed to purchase all of Element79 Gold's interests and obligations in relation to the Long Peak Project ("Long Peak") and the Stargo Project ("Stargo") in exchange for a total consideration of CAD 1,000,000 payable by the issuance of an aggregate of 2,500,000 common shares of Centra at a deemed price of CAD 0.40 per share (the “Payment Shares”). The transaction is expected to close on or before June 30, 2023, and is subject to regulatory approval.
"The sale of Long Peak and Stargo to Centra marks another milestone in Element79's journey for the strategic development of its high-grade gold assets," commented James Tworek, CEO of Element79. "Centra realizes that these projects have great exploration potential along with the rest of their portfolio and it will be exciting to see what their near-term development plans are. We are excited to maintain our exposure to the very promising development potential of these properties through our equity participation in Centra."
Tworek added, “We have been working at the sale of the non-core assets in the Battle Mountain for over a year now, and it feels great to confirm that we have one package of properties now signed up and pending their closing date. This achievement further helps to highlight the currently-unrealized value of the individual properties in the Battle Mountain portfolio, helping to re-envision a benchmark for corporate valuation and enabling us to unlock additional value from our extensive portfolio of prospective properties while increasing Element79 Gold’s focus, energy and capital flows on developing its flagship Maverick Springs and both defining a resource at and bringing production online at Lucero in 2024.”
Element79 Gold’s Battle Mountain Portfolio
The Battle Mountain Portfolio was originally comprised of 15 separate projects totaling over 44,478 acres across 2,203 unpatented claims in five counties: Elko County, Eureka County, Humboldt County, Lander County, and Nye County. Most of the Battle Mountain Portfolio is located within the Battle Mountain Trend, with several projects close to globally reputable gold deposits including Nevada Gold's Cortez Mine.
The Battle Mountain Portfolio is comprised primarily of early-stage projects. While drilling has been completed at some projects, such as Elder Creek (155 holes) and Clover (104 holes), many have only surface sampling and geophysical surveys completed. Of particular note are the Long Peak, Elephant, Elder Creek, North Mill Creek, Clipper, Pipeline South, West Cortez, and Walti Projects, which are interpreted to lie along the northwest trending fault that hosts the high-grade Pipeline deposit, which is included in Nevada Gold's Cortez Mine.

Figure 1. Map of Nevada showing location of Battle Mountain Projects, and select major gold mines.
The Long Peak Project
Long Peak is comprised of 34 unpatented claims located near Copper Basin and the Copper Canyon Mine in Lander County, Nevada. Long Peak hosts significant historic prospects, warranting further exploration at Long Peak.
The Stargo Project
Stargo is comprised of 337 unpatented claims located south of the Battle Mountain Trend in Nye County, Nevada. The large claim block contains attractive host rocks, tertiary age intrusives, and appropriate aged structural preparation to represent an attractive area for exploration target development.
About Element79 Gold
Element79 Gold is a mining company focused on gold, silver and associated metals and committed to maximizing shareholder value through responsible mining practices and sustainable development of its projects. Element79 Gold's main focus is on two core properties: developing its previously-producing, high-grade gold and silver mine, the Lucero project located in Arequipa, Peru, with the intent to bring it back into production in the near term; and its flagship Maverick Springs Project located in the famous gold mining district of northeastern Nevada, USA, between the Elko and White Pine Counties. Maverick Springs hosts a 43-101-compliant, pit-constrained mineral resource estimate reflecting an inferred resource of 3.71 million ounces of gold equivalent "AuEq" at a grade of 0.92 g/t AuEq (0.34 g/t Au and 43.4 g/t Ag) with an effective date of October 19, 2022. The acquisition of the Maverick Springs Project also included a portfolio of 15 properties along the Battle Mountain trend in Nevada, which are non-core to its primary business focus. In British Columbia, Element79 Gold has executed a Letter of Intent and funded a drilling program to acquire a private company that holds the option to 100% interest of the Snowbird High-Grade Gold Project, which consists of 10 mineral claims located in Central British Columbia, approximately 20km west of Fort St. James. The Company also has an option to acquire a 100% interest in the Dale Property, 90 unpatented mining claims located approximately 100 km southwest of Timmins, Ontario, Canada in the Timmins Mining Division, Dale Township. The Company is analyzing the non-core Nevada projects, The Dale Property and Snowbird Property for further merit of exploration, sale or spin-out.

2023.06.06 17:47 rEEfman_SK Lore bits from The Lost and the Damned [excerpt]

So as a preparation for The End and the Death: Volume II, I decided to re-read the Siege of Terra series and I totally forgot how amazing is this conversation between Malcador, Valdor, Sanguinius, Khan and Dorn. I think it contains point of view answers to some of the lore questions - some quite major - that regularly pop up in this subreddit. Excerpts from The Lost and the Damned by Guy Haley.
On the size of Horus's army.
‘They are almost incalculable in size. There are representatives from every Traitor Legion within the Solar System. He commands thousands of regiments of traitor soldiery, hundreds of Knightly houses, dozens of Titan Legios, which though they were diminished at Beta-Garmon,’ he indicated Sanguinius, ‘still outnumber our own. Now the innersystem blockade has been swept aside, the unified forces of the Dark Mechanicum are heading for Terra from Mars. We are beset on all sides.’
On the size of incoming Guilliman's army.
‘Horus brought most of his armies here. Roboute’s forces are formidable. When I left him, he was busy sending orders that Ultramar and all the Ultima Segmentum be emptied of men. More forces flock to him on the way, including elements of Vulkan’s and Corax’s Legions we thought lost. When he arrives, it will be at the head of a force the near match of Horus’ said Sanguinius.
Malcador explains why the Primarchs - except one - were not briefed about Warp. Which one was it? The book does not say. I think it was either Lion, Russ or Corvus.
‘My boy,’ said Malcador wearily, ‘you cannot understand because matters of the spirit were not given you to understand by your father. I could explain them at length and you most of all would never comprehend. Do you not think if it were possible that I or your father could have explained them already, that you would have been told of the threat in the warp from the very beginning?’
‘I deeply regret that it was not done,’said Dorn.
‘The results would have been disastrous, believe me,’said Malcador.
‘Not telling us was arguably worse,’said Dorn.
‘Was it?’ said Malcador softly. ‘Very well. Let us take you, Dorn. You were made to command the material realm. Nothing in this world is beyond your grasp. But understanding of the warp would have eluded you. Being a man who desires mastery of all things, you would have been drawn to study it, and in doing so, you would have fallen. You are resistant to the dangers in the dark, but no one is immune.’ He paused. ‘Only one of you had the mettle to resist the whispers of the gods at the start. He was told.’
(...)
‘Who the Emperor told is not important. Even now it is better that you do not know,’ said Malcador. ‘To name the powers in the empyrean is to invite their attention. The knowledge alone is corrupting – that is all you need to know now, and far more than you needed to know then.’
Seems like Malcador knew Sanguinius will die in Siege of Terra.
‘You must perform your part. I shall perform mine when the time comes.’ As one of the few men in all existence who could look into a primarch’s eye without flinching, Malcador met the gaze of each of the three loyal sons in turn. ‘All of you have your parts to play in this struggle.’ He smiled sadly at Sanguinius, and the Angel looked aside.
The Phalanx was not a part of Siege of Terra, because Dorn wanted to use it for the evacuation of the Emperor.
‘If Terra falls, the Emperor must survive,’ said Dorn. ‘We all agree that the Emperor, not Terra, is Horus’ objective. The Phalanx represents our best chance of effecting His escape. Only my flagship has any chance of fighting in and out of the system to carry Him away. In all other cases, the perimeter ships will remain out of engagement range until Roboute approaches,’ said Dorn.
Dorn admits that Alpharius was not entirely pro-Horus. This ties to my theory that Alpharius was running the Orpheus protocol for a long time - https://www.reddit.com/40kLore/comments/13xz11w/another_alpha_legion_theory_spoilers/ .
‘Could Mortarion have had a change of heart?’ wondered Sanguinius aloud. ‘I am certain few of our brothers expected to find themselves allied with daemons. Mortarion least of all – you know how much he hates the warp.’
Dorn’s eyes narrowed. He thought momentarily of Alpharius. When the twentieth primarch infiltrated the Solar System, he had spoken with Dorn, and what he said could have been interpreted as contrition. Dorn had not listened, and had slain Alpharius at Pluto, a fact he still kept from his brothers.
The Primarchs did not know that Vulkan is perpetual. Kurze has definitely found out the wrong way - hammertime.
A sly look crept across Malcador’s face.
‘Vulkan lives,’ he said.
The shock visible on Sanguinius, Dorn and the Khan’s faces gratified the Sigillite, and he smiled like a conjuror pleased with the effects of a trick.
‘I’m sorry?’ said Dorn.
‘What do you mean, Malcador?’ said Sanguinius. ‘I saw him dead upon Macragge. I witnessed his corpse borne away by his sons myself!’
‘Vulkan’s corpse is not like other corpses. The Salamanders took him back to Nocturne, where they were successful in restoring him to life. Vulkan has… certain abilities, as you all do,’ said Malcador.
The Emperor was apparently close to completing the Webway gate on Terra.
‘Disaster struck when He was close to completion. Your brother Magnus, my lords, was loyal, but arrogant. In his hubris, he used sorcery to warn the Emperor of Horus’ treachery. The sorcery he employed, that he had been forbidden from, destroyed the wards around the bridge, and all the foes of men came rushing in.’
‘That is where Valdor’s men were for so long when you returned, my brothers,’ Dorn said to Jaghatai and Sanguinius.
This one is very hotly debated topic in this subreddit, but Malcador clearly says (could be lying though) that Horus pushed Russ to kill Magnus.
‘So Russ was sent to punish Magnus without reason,’said Sanguinius.
‘Not without reason,’ said Malcador. ‘But the chastisement was never meant to be so harsh. We determined to despatch the Wolf King to bring Magnus back to Terra for censure for defying the judgement of the Council of Nikaea. Horus manipulated the order.’
In 40k the Emperor cannot leave the Golden Throne or be externally killed, because he is holding the warpgate on Terra closed.
‘Let me explain, Constantin,’ Malcador said. He paused to gather his thoughts before he went on. ‘What none of you know is that your father is trapped upon the device He created to keep the bridge to the webway open. It was intended to be a temporary measure, until the Mechanicum could stabilise the conduit. But all their work was destroyed. If He leaves the Throne now, the doors into the warp will open, and Terra will drown under a tide of Neverborn and all their infinite malice.’

2023.06.06 17:47 NotAsWeirdAsISeem I [26M] want to meet with my longterm relationship girlfriend [F22] but she has fears about applying for visa

I met a girl online 2-3 years back. Shes from Russia while I'm german. Originally we just wanted to help each other improving german and russian but over time feelings grew and we got into a long term relationship. We wanted to meet up all the time but due to covid and the ukraine war we couldnt make it happen. Our latest plan is for her to come over and meet me in Germany for a few weeks. The problem is that she has to make a visa and has fears about it. Neither of us really has a clue what to look out for or what the possibilites could be. I told her dont worry about staying here, she could stay at my apartment and i will pay for the food and stuff. Only thing she has to do is the visa. But she always says she has a fear about it and want to apply for the visa as best as she could do, yet she doesnt do it at all for months. I talked with her a lot about it but theres nothing i could do. I really want to meet her and tbh I want her to get out of her Country for several reasons. But as far as I understood she wants to do so too. And i strongly believe the feelings of love we say we have for another are as true as they could be in this kind of relationship. Yet I don't think I can wait for much longer. Does anybody have some advice for me? I'd really appreciate it.

At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU's roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam and so on.As
Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above).
“I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate, who together comprise the Justice Society.) “One anti-hero.” (That would be DJ's Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.)
“And what an opportunity. The Justice Society pre-dated the Justice League. So opportunity, expand out the universe, in my mind… all these characters interact. That's why you see in Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, we acknowledge everyone: Batman , Superman , Wonder Woman, Flash, we acknowledge everybody. There's also some Easter eggs in there, too.So that's what I meant by the resetting. Maybe resetting' wasn't a good term.only
one can claim to be the most powerful superhero .And Johnson, when gently pressed, says it's his indestructible, 5,000-year-old Kahndaqi warrior also known as Teth-Adam, that is the most powerful superhero in any universe, DC, Marvel or otherwise
"By the way, it's not hyperbole because we made the movie."And we made him this powerful.
There's nothing so wrong with “Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” that it should be avoided, but nothing—besides the appealing presence of Dwayne Johnson—that makes it worth rushing out to see. spectacles that have more or less taken over studio filmmaking, but it accumulates the genre's—and the business's—bad habits into a single two- hour-plus package, and only hints at the format's occasional pleasures. “Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” feels like a place-filler for a movie that's remaining to be made, but, in its bare and shrugged-off sufficiency, it does one positive thing that, if nothing else, at least accounts for its success: for all the churning action and elaborately jerry-rigged plot, there's little to distract from the movie's pedestal-like display of Johnson, its real-life superhero.
It's no less numbing to find material meant for children retconned for adults—and, in the process, for most of the naïve delight to be leached out, and for any serious concerns to be shoehorned in and then waved away with dazzle and noise. Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” offers a moral realm that draws no lines, a personal one of simplistic stakes, a political one that suggests any interpretation, an audiovisual one that rehashes long-familiar tropes and repackages overused devices for a commercial experiment that might as well wear its import as its title. When I was in Paris in 1983, Jerry Lewis—yes, they really did love him there—had a new movie in theaters. You're Crazy, Jerry."Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse " could be retitled 'You're a Superhero, Dwayne'—it's the marketing team's PowerPoint presentation extended to feature length.
In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film.
“They kept that all the way under wraps, and I didn't know until maybe a day or two before the premiere,” he recently said Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse FULLMOVIE ONLINE

Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has finally ended the box office blues. It will be a close call, but based on the estimates, the year's biggest opener remains Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with its $187 million start. Nonetheless, Wakanda Forever's $180 million opening is a huge one, being the biggest ever for the month of November (beating the $158 million of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), the second biggest of the year, and the 13th biggest of all time (though it could go up or down a few slots once the actuals come out). It led an overall weekend box office of $208 million, which is the fourth biggest of the year and the biggest by a long shot of the past four months, with no other weekend since July 8 -10 even going above $133 million.
This isn't the $202 million opening that we saw from Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in February 2018, nor should we expect the amazing legs that were able to get that film to an astonishing $700 million. With that said, expect it to perform strong throughout the holiday season, likely repeating the five-weekend number-one streak that the first film had, and it shouldn't have any trouble becoming the second highest grossing film of the year so far, beating the $411 million cume of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The audience response is strong, with the A CinemaScore falling below the first film's A+ but bouncing back from the B+'s earned by Doctor Strange 2 and Thor: Love and Thunder, which ranked among the worst for the MCU. improvement over the recent franchise installations, with the aforementioned films coming in at 74% and 64% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes, both at the lower end for Marvel films, while Wakanda Forever's 84% is closer to franchise norms, though not meeting the high bar set by the first Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's 96%.
The sequel opened to $150 million internationally, which Disney reports is 4% ahead of the first film when comparing like for likes at current exchange rates. Overall, the global cume comes to $330 million. Can it become the year's third film to make it past $1 billion worldwide despite China and Russia, which made up around $124 million of the first film's $682 million international box office, being out of play? It may be tough, but it's not impossible. Legging out past $500 million is plausible on the domestic front (that would be a multiplier of at least 2.7), and another $500 million abroad would be a drop of around $58 million from the original after excluding the two MIA markets. It'd be another story if audiences didn't love the film, but the positive reception suggests that Wakanda Forever will outperform the legs on this year's earlier MCU titles (Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder had multipliers of 2.2 and 2.3 respectively).
As for the rest of the box office, there's little to get excited about, with nothing else grossing above $10 million as Hollywood shied away from releasing anything significant not just this weekend but also over the previous two weekends. When Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse opened in 2018, there was no counterprogramming that opened the same weekend, but Peter Rabbit and Fifty Shades Freed were in their second weekends and took second and third with $17.5 million and $17.3 million respectively. That weekend had an overall cume of $287 million compared to $208 million this weekend Take away the $22 million gap between the two Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse films and there's still a $57 million gap between the two weekends. The difference may not feel that large when a mega blockbuster is propping up the grosses, but the contrast is harsher when the mid-level films are the entire box office as we saw in recent months.
Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which is the biggest grosser of the rough post-summer, pre-Wakanda Forever season, came in second with just $8.6 million. Despite the blockbuster competition that arrived in its fourth weekend, the numbers didn't totally collapse, dropping 53 % for a cume of $151 million. Worldwide it is at $352 million, which isn't a great cume as the grosses start to wind down considering its $200 million budget. Still, it's the biggest of any film since Thor: Love and Thunder, though Wakanda Forever will overtake it any day now.
Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse came in third place in its fourth weekend, down 29% with $6.1 million, emerging as one of the season's most durable grossers and one of the year's few bright spots when it comes to films for adults. The domestic cume is $56.5 million Fourth place went to Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which had a negligible drop of 5% for a $3.2 million sixth weekend and $40.8 million cume., in fact )
, which isn't surprising considering it's the only family film on the market, and it's close to grossing four times its $11.4 million opening. Still, the $72.6 million worldwide cume is soft given the $50 million budget , though a number of international markets have yet to open.
Finishing up the top five is Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which had its biggest weekend drop yet, falling 42% for a $2.3 million seventh weekend. Of course, that's no reason to frown for the horror film, which has a domestic cume of $103 million and global cume of $ 210 million from a budget of just $20 million.
The one new specialty title of note comes from a filmmaker we don't typically associate with the specialty box office: Steven Spielberg. The Beard's semi-autobiographical family drama Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse opened in four theaters in New York and Los Angeles to $160k, a $40k average. The film expands to 600 theaters the day before Thanksgiving, and it has the potential to break out in a way that none of the other of the season's awards contenders have. We're also seeing very solid numbers from Watch ‘Filmmakers for the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which grossed $1.7 million this weekend for a seventh place finish, bringing its cume to $5.8

2023.06.06 17:44 itsa_me_despression UPDATE: Bf has 22k in credit card debt, how to get it down?

So a lot of people have followed me because of this whole fiasco, so I've decided to update based on the responses and what our plan will be going forward.
There was a lot of helpful comments, a lot of hurtful comments, but we focused on the good over the bad, though definitely sobered about the reality of the amount of debt and very real consequences of it. I talked to him about this and we went over his credit cards to find where the issue was. He didn't just magically spend 9k on his credit card. He had car issues combined with our apartment issues that, as he was attempting to pay them both off, caused the 9k. We still believe the mattress was a good purchase, as we'll have it for a long time and financed for 0% APR for 6 years, we believe it to be our last mattress. It wasn't the smartest decision, but we're living with it. We're looking into debt consolidation as a last resort, but for now will just plug away at spending less and funneling all money into the cards, with the possibility of asking for an interest freeze on the account. I helped him come up with a budget for paying off the cards based on his biweekly checks, trying to maximize the payments on the cards without giving too much that he can't pay for necessities like gas and groceries. We've put his credit cards away, out of his wallet and hidden where only I know, and he's vowed to not use them. He won't be going to school until his debt is paid off completely, which we know will take around 3-5 years depending. He's still set on the snowball method of paying off his 2k 0 interest debt, and then rounding those payments into the 15k card, and I'll be cheering from the sidelines, trying to be a good influence and rock so he doesn't fall off the wagon again. I'll be sure to point things out when possible for help. No, I'm not going to leave him because of this.
Thanks everyone for the comments, especially the helpful ones and I hope you're all able to recover from debt issues as well!

2023.06.06 17:43 indyman_123 How 'Malazan' is "sold" to a brand new reader (like me) around the internet... the factors that led me to ultimately start the journey... and some important advice for the first-timers before going in.

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for voting ,commenting, and sharing your opinions on my previous post. That has really helped me in not only going ahead and trying to attempt and do the whole quick review / recap thing, but also to go ahead with a lot of renewed curiosity, interest, and energy into the series (and also hopefully try and NOT go into the "burnout" mode in the whole process of doing so).
Anyways, but before starting the above mentioned thing though, I would like to address a couple of things based off my personal overall experiences on certain stuff... way before I went ahead and picked up GOTM.
Please note that a few things have already been briefly mentioned in my previous posts and comments, but I wanted to elaborate on certain aspects of it, and even to provide some context to some of the things.
How MBOTF / Malazan is sold to a brand new reader like me around the internet -
These are some of the main and common things that I found out while searching for what the series was all about. Some resources describe the series in a more positive way, whereas some in a more less than positive way (negative is probably not the right word here I feel, cuz the resources are telling you why you should pick it up in the first place, rather than not to) -
  1. The series is very long, in fact one of the longest out there wrt fantasy / word count, and that it's still not complete. MBOTF is done (with 10 BIG books) by SE, but the 'Malazan World' as a whole has a lot more to offer, including NOTME by ICE (again completed; with 6 books), two prequels series, one sequel series, and a bunch of novellas. And there are more books on the way! So spending the time and energy for this is the reader's personal choice.
  2. It is also probably the most complex / challenging series out there. So start at your own risk. Especially if you're new to fantasy or haven't read too much stuff before. Also, you will not understand everything, SE doesn't spoon feed the readers in any way. So if you're into it, then only go for it.
  3. Not for everyone's taste too. That it tackles certain aspects in a much "rougher way" (violence, sexual assault, etc.), and that the author doesn't pull any punches in doing so. As long as one is able to manage their emotions wrt this, it will be OK. Otherwise, not for the faint hearted so as to speak.
  4. The writing / prose is pretty good, but again, not for everyone. It can get very confusing and difficult at times. Can also get too much philosophical at times, and as the series progresses, some of the books tend to drag on a bit. And the major underlying themes concerned are compassion, pain, grief, suffering, etc.
  5. The characters, although some very well written, do not quite come out as the best in the genre (writing wise). There are too many characters' POV to follow, and that can be challenging to say the least.
  6. It is more of a military fantasy in a way, involving multiple battle sequences, strategies, etc. and if you like wars, armies, magic, assassins, thieves, fantasy creatures, amazing places, some cool OP characters, even gods themselves getting involved in a much bigger game, you should definitely go for it.
  7. The worldbuilding is top class though, and the journey throughout is well worth all your efforts in the end. Many even stating that this right here is the most epic and best fantasy series they have ever read!
  8. Lastly, that GOTM is THE hardest of the bunch wrt everything. The writing, plot wise, character wise, understanding wise, etc. I f you can manage to push through it, you'll be able to get on pretty well. Also, to judge if the series is made for you or not, go through AT LEAST the first three books of MBOTF. If then you're into it, it's definitely for you. If not, you should probably consider dropping it.
Now, this is NOT to point fingers or to highlight anybody / any online resource, or community. This is just what I as a new reader found out and was informed wrt the series in general. There were some things to put me off personally like the complexity, length, etc. But there was plenty that I thought was right down my alley, and I would enjoy it very much (like deadly big hounds, lots of dragons, dinosaurs with blade hands, a short, plump dude who's funny and dangerous at the same time, some super cool powerful dude with charcoal skin and white flowing hair equipped with an even powerful sword, and so on. You get the point, right?). And thus, I went ahead and got GOTM as soon as I could!
Factors that led me to start the Malazan Book of the Fallen -
Now, since the turn of the year, I've been greatly influenced by certain factors that propelled me into starting this journey - (in no particular order really)
  1. Malaztube / Booktube / Youtube - I know there are quite a few number of people out there who make some really good content wrt Malazan, but the following were the ones that I personally was hugely inspired by (again, in no particular order) - Matt's Fantasy Book Reviews, Iskar Jarak, Andy Smith, The Fantasy Nuttwork, Mike's Book Reviews, Daniel Greene, Petrik Leo, CREEDER, etc. [NOT promotional in any way btw]
  2. Artworks / Fan arts / Cover designs / Other graphical representations - These were genuinely the things that pushed me into starting the series even further. Some really beautiful and amazing stuff present out there, without question. Makes you want to read it for yourself, to experience it first hand!
  3. Articles / Posts / Websites / Other online resources - There's a TON of stuff out there, in-depth / detailed to such an extent that you wouldn't deem possible. All that and then some. Whatever you need, it's there. The amount of dedication, effort, and analysis for this series made me realize that it was certainly more than special, and again, gave me that final push needed.
  4. This sub right here - No cap / sugar coating in any way. I've been following / reading the posts and the comments since the past 2-3 months from afar, and was really surprised to see a well balanced community. Also was able to check out the various resources, related sites, and the reading companions, which again, strengthens the fact that there's so much great content and info. present out there thanks to the efforts of many people. So keep it up and kudos for that! The only slight disappointment for me was that the number of Bonehunters present were/are just a little bit lower than what I expected. Hopefully many more recruits on the way! But hey, quality over quantity, as they say!
All the above factors did a massive job in pushing me to start the series immediately. And without wasting any more time, I ordered a copy of GOTM (which was on sale luckily!).
Some VERY important advice for all the new readers out there -
I absolutely had to post this, no doubt. Especially with my personal experience, I find it a kind of motivation to try and help / stop this from happening to the brand new audience. If you want to avoid being spoiled wrt anything and everything about the series before even stepping a foot into it, here's some words of advice that you might consider following -
  1. TOTALLY AVOID THE BACK COVERS / SYNOPSIS! - Two major spoilers were ruined for me while doing this. Now, I get that you are looking to know what is happening and what not, but avoid this. Maybe just go for the GOTM one since it'll be your first book to pick (even though you'd still be wondering WTH is going on and why), but that's all. No more. Rather go for Malaztube / Booktube / Youtube content which has non spoiler stuff. Those are very well explained, and won't spoil anything for you. Rather will make the basic gist of the series pretty clear so you can directly hop on the wagon. Lots of channels to choose from as well. Even some of the articles / websites will do the same for you (hoping you avoid clicking where you shouldn't be clicking in the first place!).
  2. AVOID GETTING INTO THE ARTWORK / FAN ART TRAP! - Now, I'm not saying this in a negative way, of course not. There are some gorgeous, amazing artworks out there, especially fan arts. But make sure you only go through the ones with a NO SPOILER tag / label. Otherwise, don't even glance at it. Some artists / fans don't have the tags or labels on their personal pages / bios. So watch out. I have unfortunately received one of the biggest possible spoilers while doing this. So tread carefully. You have been warned!
  3. ARTICLES / WEBSITES / OTHER ONLINE RESOURCES - There are really some GREAT stuff out there about Malazan (I really can't help but stress this point even more). But one wrong click, and chances are you might get spoiled, like I did. So again, only go for the NON SPOILER stuff.
  4. ABOUT THIS SUB - There's a reason there are multiple, well defined flairs present here. So out of curiosity and excitement, DO NOT click on any of the spoiler posts, let alone the comments. Even then, the spoiler part is covered by a grey patch. DO NOT click on it if you don't want to get spoiled. Things I've been personally guilty of, but luckily, didn't spoil anything major as such.
Can you see a pattern here with all the three segments combined?
Anyways, so yeah, that's pretty much it from my perspective. I have been spoiled certain big stuff while doing this the wrong way (even though I've been assured through this sub that there's still a LOT to uncover and experience. So it isn't going to slow me down in any way btw). So, I do hope new comers won't tread the same path, and rather go through it in a much more cautioned approach for an even better first time experience!
AND BREATHE!
Still here, are you? Really? Well, I hope it was either somewhat useful, kinda informative, or maybe even helpful in a way. Let me know if I've missed anything, or should've left out, or anything else for that matter.
Cheers!
Oh, and one last thing. I've come to gather that this sub doesn't shy away from long posts. Well, so how about a decent sized one for a start, eh? ;)

In honour of our fallen comrade u/WanderingDwarfMiner, I suggest that Ghost Ship Games add an NPC to Deep Rock Galactic. This NPC would be a dwarf who randomly appears in caves sometimes, mining out of the wall. He Rock and Stones you when saluted, helps you finish the mission, and sells cosmetics, overclocks, beers, and minerals. He will also be able to mine minerals, and at the end of the mission, he mines away shouting Rock and Stone.

What Should Be Considered When Selecting the Ideal Podcast for a Student?
  • Consider the subject: Look for podcasts that cover the specific subject the student wants to learn about. For example, if the student is interested in history, they can search for history podcasts that cover different time periods and events. When it comes to finding podcasts related to a more specific subject, such as for an illustration essay, students can search for interviews with professional illustrators or discussions on different illustration techniques.
  • Check the format: Different podcasts use different formats, such as interviews or lectures. Choose the one that suits the student's learning style. If the student prefers a more conversational approach, they can choose a podcast that features interviews with experts in the field. If the student prefers a more structured approach, they can choose a podcast that features lectures or presentations.
  • Read reviews: Check reviews from other listeners to see if the podcast is engaging, informative, and high-quality. Reviews can provide valuable insights into the quality of the podcast and whether it is worth the student's time. Students can also ask their peers or teachers for podcast recommendations.
  • Consider the length: The length of a podcast can vary greatly, from a few minutes to several hours. Students should consider their own schedule and attention span when choosing a podcast. If they have a short attention span, they may prefer shorter podcasts that can be easily consumed during a break or commute. If they have more time, they may prefer longer podcasts that delve deeper into the subject matter.
  • Look for podcasts with additional resources: Some educational podcasts offer additional resources such as transcripts, study guides, or links to further reading. These resources can be helpful for students who want to delve deeper into the subject matter.
  • Consider the podcast's tone: Some podcasts may be more serious and academic in tone, while others may be more lighthearted and entertaining. Students should consider their own preferences and the tone that will best engage them.
What Qualities Make an Educational Podcast Relevant to Education?
The best educational podcasts are those that go beyond simply providing information and engage listeners in a meaningful and memorable way. They use storytelling, humor, and relatable examples to make the content more accessible and entertaining. In addition to this, they also provide a unique perspective on the topic at hand, which makes the listener curious and interested in learning more about it.
Final Words
Whether it's exploring the mysteries of science, delving into the annals of history, or unlocking the secrets of personal development, these educational and self-improvement podcasts have the power to captivate and educate young minds in extraordinary ways. What You Get: MODULE 1: The Presuppositional Playbook Psychology The most fundamental difference in face to face, vs virtual selling is the absolute need to have the prospect be pushing for the sale. They must be the one driving for the solution. They have to want it more than you do. They have to be more engaged in the process than they are face to face. When you sell virtually the more you talk, the worse your close rates will be. When you are sitting with a prospect together, it’s easy to have the momentum of the meeting and the relationship you’ve developed together carry the sale to the finish line. This does not happen virtually. There is a distance, a void between you and the prospect that is easy for them to take your information and disappear, taking it to another advisor they know better. Presuppositional Selling does two important things. First, it structures the sales interaction in such a way that the prospect discovers intrisically the problems, pains, gains, and desire for a solution. One of the most powerful ways P2 selling works is helping the prospect see what they have not seen before. It changes context. It changes the frame. The Crucial 1st Appointment The first appointment in the leverage point that determines the success or failure of your entire sales process. Do a poor first appointment by talking too much, or ‘spilling your candy in the lobby’ and you’re doomed. Prospects won’t show up on the next call, and they will be lost and gone forever. There is an art and a science to doing the first appointment effectively and you’ll see exactly how to do it right. It starts with our 13 steps first appointment playbook. In this playbook you’ll get:
  • How to steamroll the first 6 common objections you may receive at the beginning of a first appointment.
  • How to create authority in the first 30 seconds of a first appointment, by doing the EXACT opposite of what your prospect expects…and what every other salesperson does.
  • The Credibility Transfer: How to use “borrowed credibility” to get your prospects to trust you—even if they don’t know who you are.
  • The PLI “Power Switch” Principle that flips the power dynamic, so YOU are perceived to have the power (and not the prospect).
  • The One Eyed Man principle that STOPS the prospect from treating you like a salesperson.
  • RAPID SUCCESS IN JUST 20 MINUTES: Learn how to do a first appointment in just 20 minutes over the phone, no technology needed.
  • The Decision Matrix: This is the most critical part of the entire sale…and it’s made right here. (Most producers hit only 1 out of the 4 keys to the decision matrix and it costs them sales constantly.)
  • STOP THE HATERS: How to ensure competitors, incumbents, and other ‘characters’ don’t blow up your sales with bad advice to your clients. (PLEASE, if you do nothing else, learn this critical component to stop losing deals needlessly!)
  • The “golden thread of motivation”: This is the thread that holds the entire sale together. When a prospect forgets why they called, why they are meeting with you, or why they are buying, you will fail in closing the sale.
  • The “Fried Chicken Rule”that ensures your prospect is engaged and selling themselves, not tuning out.
  • How to set ROCK SOLID second appointments to ensure you never get a ‘no show’ on your next appointment.
  • The SOLUTION step: How to ensure you are sharing just enough to whet their appetite and create burning curiosity for the next appointment to get them coming back for more, (while being 100% compliant!)

2023.06.06 17:39 LaticusLad Time Marches Ever Onward: Chapter 3

(Any sentences or phrases wrapped with brackets "[ ]" are designated as inner monologue!)
Thank you to u/SpacePaladin15 for creating this wonderful literary universe!
< First Previous Next >
Memory transcription subject: Tassak, Arxur Paleontologist
Date [standardized human time]: July 15, 2165
I nervously clicked my claws against the wooden table as I waited for the rest of the invitees to arrive. The UN had brought me to the senate building privately so as to not cause panic, and I was grateful. I only hoped that the people whom I was going to be working with wouldn’t freak out at my appearance.
The war against the Federation and the subjugation of the Arxur by the Dominion had ended shortly after my birth, but the effects of the past few centuries of conflict could not be eliminated in such a short amount of time. Societal ideals have to be rewritten over long stretches of time by strong people with strong will, and there simply hasn’t been enough time to do so. As a result, though it has been many years since the last battle against the Arxur, it was still uncommon to see any outside of the space they already inhabited, and still VERY common to see hatred and fear of us among Fed species. It has always been my ultimate goal to show those who fear us just how similar we are, that is why I sacrificed everything to attend the Meiers Institute of Knowledge.
On the Arxur’s side of the societal coin, it was social suicide to interact with “prey” species willingly. [Oh how I hate that word.] Most of the elders of our society could not get over their hatred of the Federation species, despite the fact that they were under just as much, if not MORE subjugation than we were. When I made the decision to go and learn at MIK, I was shunned from all social groups at home. Not that there even were many, most Arxur rarely interacted with each other if they could help it.
MIK was a chance for me to experience new ideas and try new things. For once, I wasn’t discriminated against because I had front-facing eyes and scary teeth, and I learned just how much I loved socializing with like-minded people. I was finally allowed to let my love for knowledge flourish in a way that other Arxur would never have condoned. I graduated some time later with several degrees and a doctorate in paleontology.
Though to some, the idea of digging up bones and putting them together like a puzzle seemed macabre, it felt liberating to me. I felt like I truly understood the value of life and death. I could look at the cracked tooth of an ancient ancestor of the Arxur or the fossilized chitin of one of the Tilfish’s predecessors and identify a pattern, showing the divergent evolution they underwent to achieve their current form. I could see the similarities all life inherently had. Sometimes the similarities between us were shocking, and occasionally it was kind-of scary, but that only made me more passionate about my work.
I assume that is why the UN decided to send me a job offer 3 weeks ago. When I received it I was ECSTATIC at the prospect. The UN government sending ME, a small-time nobody Arxur paleontologist, an invitation to work with them? If I could tell my past self what I would be up to now, I would almost certainly scoff at myself. Even as I boarded my UN funded private ship to Aafa I was subconsciously wondering if it was some elaborate prank. My thoughts were interrupted as I heard footsteps from the other side of the door. This is it, I’m about to meet my partners, please don’t run away screaming.
A human, a venlil, and a gojid stood in the doorway staring at me. The gojid seemed slightly fearful but hid it well, the human and venlil however just seemed confused. [Okay, okay, they didn’t scream at me. That’s a good start.] The three, along with their escort, settled into chairs at the table I sat at, looking at me expectantly. I straightened my posture and prepared myself mentally to greet them. “H-hi, my name is Tassak. Are you the other three invitees?” The human sitting across from me spoke. “Yes. I hope I don’t offend by saying this but I wasn’t expecting an Arxur invitee.” He raised an eyebrow as he ended his sentence. He quickly started talking again, probably to try and explain his reasoning. “Sorry, I-I mean, don’t the Arxur frown upon interacting with “prey” species?” The venlil and gojid looked at me as I thought of a response. “Yes, they do. I had to cut a lot of ties to get into this profession. Let’s get introductions out of the way please.” “Alright, my name is James. I’m 31 years old. I was born on Earth and now live on Venlil prime. I went to MIK to become a historian. My diet is mainly coffee but occasionally I drink coffee as a treat.” The man smiled as he awaited our amusement, but it never came. James’ smirk faded and he coughed into his hand before continuing. “I was invited along with my friend Lemva, she’s the venlil next to me, and Cayek, he’s the gojid to your right.”
I exhaled quietly, James seemed friendly enough. “My name is Tassak, as I said before. I’m 29. I got a doctorate in paleontology at the Meiers Institute of Knowledge, along with some other degrees. I hail from Wriss I currently live on Earth.” As I finished my statement, I couldn’t help but criticize the way I spoke. [Why did I talk so rigidly, ughhh! My first impressions are going terribly!] James spoke up. “Wait, did we all come from MIK? Weird coincidence huh?” I could tell he was trying to ease the tension in the room. “I thought I would’ve noticed a giant lizard guy walking around campus.” Wait, did he call me a guy? “Uh, I’m a girl, actually.” I spoke timidly. The man before me became as red as a fresh cut of steak. His embarrassment was plainly visible, which I found amusing, it lessened my anxiety slightly.
The venlil that James had referred to as Lemva spoke up, changing the subject. “Weelll… Anyhow, my name is Lemva as James told you. I’m 30 years old. I’m an archaeologist and got my doctorate from MIK. My current home is on Earth but I’ve lived a little bit of everywhere. Me and James have been friends for a long time, we met in the institute’s history club.” Everyone focused their attention onto Cayek as Lemva’s introduction concluded. It took several seconds for him to compose himself. I could tell that my presence was uncomfortable for him, and him being seated closest to me of the three people probably exacerbated that feeling. I didn’t blame him for his fear, but it still stung a little. He gulped and started talking.
“My name is Cayek. I’m a 41 year old linguist who also went to MIK for my doctorate. I was born on the Cradle, was taken in at a young age by the UN after it got bombed, and was offered a home in one of the cities constructed by the Cradle Re-colonization Project, where I now live.” The man stopped talking and I thought he was done, but he straightened his posture and started speaking again. “I just want to get this out of the way before it causes trouble later down the line.” He spoke with a sigh. “I was born in a… you could call it a “hostile” household. My family raised me during a time when hate against… “people who were different” was acceptable. My upbringing cemented a couple habits into me that I’ve been trying to chip away at, so to speak, ever since I saw the sheer good that mankind is capable of. I’ve been attempting to be more open to new ideas ever since. Hell, I even took the anti-cure and tried some-” He gulped. “-non-herbivore cuisine, to get some perspective. So if I accidentally say or do something offensive to you please tell me, I truly want to leave that part of me behind.” As he ended his speech, he slouched and let out a breath he had been holding in. I was surprised by his honesty.
James and Lemva both processed the information. I responded first. “Thank you. You have no idea how much anxiety dropped off my shoulders just now. I was worried you’d all run away at first sight of me or treat me like some bloodthirsty beast. I very much appreciate the effort you’re putting into reforming.” James spoke after me. “I appreciate it too. After all these riots it’s such a breath of fresh air to meet a person that won’t cry if I look at them.” In the past 10 minutes, this man had crammed in jokes at any time he could. I think I’m gonna like him. I could tell that the joke came from a place of sadness though, I could see the sadness in his eyes.
James started to look impatient, he tapped his fingers on the table in a rhythmic pattern while he checked his holopad for the time. “I thought we were here for a job offer. How long is this gon-” The sound of the heavy wooden door opening filled the room, as a small group of well-dressed men and women filed in through the doorway. As my eyes scanned over each person who entered, my heart skipped a beat and I jolted upward to attempt a human salute as I spotted President Zhao at the tail-end of the group. [What the fuck? Why is he meeting with us?] The other three followed my gaze and stood to salute as well. In his surprise, James nearly fell over. My three partners were as equally dumbstruck as I by the sudden appearance of the head of the government.
President Zhao took on a small amused smirk as he witnessed James straighten himself out. “At ease. You may take a seat.” We did as he commanded. “Welcome to the Capitol. It’s good to see that you all accepted your invitations. I can see from your confused expressions that you probably want some answers, so let’s get started.” As Zhao took a seat at the head of the table, one of the men who had accompanied him lifted a briefcase from his side and placed it delicately on the table. The man inputted a code into a small keypad and the briefcase unlocked with a click. Inside was a holo-projector, which the man placed on the center of the table. “Before we begin, our four guests will need to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement, the information spoken of in this meeting must never leave this room.” Another of the officials, a small woman in a black dress, passed four holopads to us, which we promptly wrote our signatures into. The holopads were collected and Zhao spoke. “Excellent. You’re probably all curious about the reason we invited you specifically for this opportunity, why all the security measures and guards, why we’re trying to keep this under such tight wraps.” The holo-projector on the table switched on and briefly displayed the Coalition logo, before transitioning to a hologram of Talsk, the Farsul homeworld. “As you know, for hundreds of years the Federation had been keeping archives filled with classified knowledge and confiscated or outright stolen items. On the nineteenth of june, approximately four weeks ago, after extensive search efforts, we found the motherlode. The Federation had kept many archives but this one was special. It wasn’t a library, it was a tomb. Buried under several kilometers of rock and deep ocean, the Federation sealed away items and information that, if released, could possibly threaten their hold over the galaxy.”
The holo-projector transitioned to a diagram depicting the archive, there was no entrance-way and no exit, just kilometers of water and stone between it and the surface. The hologram zoomed in on the archive, showing a more detailed view of the gargantuan structure. It consisted of several levels, each with a number of chambers housing items or information. At the very bottom of the structure, one chamber stood out among the rest. 10 meter thick walls of an ultra-hard titanium alloy encased a small cell filled with toxic gas. Suspended in the middle of the chamber by hundreds of metal rods was a vacuum-sealed prism of diamond. Finally, inside the prism was a small metal cube along with a holopad.
I felt a chill down my spine as I studied the intricate carvings etched upon the surface of the artifact. I could tell that the carvings were of some language, but it did not match any that I could think of. “Within the records, this artifact was designated as Class-Hydrogen1. The Federation’s information classification system is far too complex to discuss in full, but in summary, the more important something is, the closer to 1 the atomic number of the element it is assigned will be. The classification is then proceeded by a 1 or 2, 1 signifies dangerous information and 2 signifies dangerous materials. For example, in this same archive we discovered an experimental and dangerous singularity generator with a classification of Fluorine2, which has an atomic number of 9.”
“To put into perspective how scary the idea of a Class-Hydrogen designation is, the second highest classification object on record is a self-powered anti-grav receptacle of strange matter. Strange matter will turn any other matter it touches into more strange matter, I shouldn’t have to explain why that is incredibly dangerous. The receptacle was classified as a Carbon2. There are 4 classifications between Hydrogen and Carbon and none of them are being used.” My blood ran cold as I listened. What power could this artifact possibly hold? The question in my mind was quickly replaced by another. Why are WE the ones being told this? Before the window of opportunity ended, I opened my mouth to speak.
“Permission to speak, sir?” Zhao looked at me and nodded. “I still have a question, and I’m sure my partners do too, but why us? Why did you choose to tell us this instead of someone more qualified?” “I’m glad you reminded me.” I heard the clacking of a keyboard as one of the men beside the President switched the holo-projector to a different tab. A close-up of the cube appeared, showing the four sides of the object.
The first side depicts a bipedal creature covered in spikes turning their back on two similar figures cloaked in blood and flames. The creature holds a defiant posture. Flames trail behind them, turning to embers, then to smoke, and then fading entirely.
The second side depicts a small fluffy figure being chased by a dark version of themselves across a variety of settings and locations.
The third side depicts a large being covered in scales bound in chains kneeling on an altar, their arms being stretched to two different sides. On one side a crowd of identical creatures and on the other side a crowd composed of different figures of varying shapes and sizes, both sides pointing weapons at the central figure.
The final scene depicts a man screaming in anger and sorrow pointing a dagger toward a small creature with bloodied hands. Tears stream down his face. A man and woman lie dead in the background.
A gojid, a venlil, an arxur, and a human.

2023.06.06 17:37 cheriaspen About Robert Kennedy Jr and His Opponents By Alex Jones

Alex Jones is of course controversial but really and truely most of the time he is right on. And of course he has been demonlized for his mistakes, and never recognized for the Truth he has supported and exposed over the many years. This is a very good review of Robert Kennedy Jr with links. Jones is source based. Check it out.
I sure wish Robert would go on Info Wars, I think he said his wife won't let him. She, Cheryl needs to be supportive and not controlling. He needs to show he wears the pants as well as loves his wife.
Alex Jones has millions of supporters. Kennedy's wife Cheryl Hines, also spoke out against her husbands' correct remarks comparing the Surviellience State of today with that of the Nazis, of course today's is much worse with the technology the Nazi's would have loved to have that is now readiing this, and all our personal texts and emails and phone calls and cell phones indicate exactly where we are every minute. Of course this is a violation of our 4th Amendment Rights a million times each second! I would have thought she'd be more aware of the truth after watching " Never Again is Now Global" The 5-part documentary produced by Kennedy's founation Children's Health Defense Fund directed by the wonderful brave, Vera Sharav Nazi Camp survivor and stars many of the remaining Nazi Holocaust survivors and their families. And yes she does compare then to now and determines that what we are now experiencing is worse! Vera states: "This is world-wide, and there are no allies coming to rescue us".
And I understand Cheryl has unwisely gotten the jabs. You'd think she'd know better to stay alive and healthy. We need her to be a good queen behind her king. Not to put him down or control who he can interview with. She could harm his chances if she is not aligned with her husband. It would be wise to keep her issues with him private.
Kennedy also reversed a tweet congratuating Roger Waters when Kennedy learned of his stance on Isreal's corrupt govenment and genocide of Palestine. He stated: " My family has always had close relations with Isreal". Well he full knows the Isreali govenment is currently genociding their own citizens with multiple jabs of the Pfizer bioweapon. So many are dying from it there is a radio station that lists the deaths from the injections daily.
Roger Waters was over there with his band Pink Floyd and learned of the corruption and genocide of Palestine by Israeli Zionists, and the control the Isreali lobby has over our Government . And he produced " Occupation of the American Mind" an excellent documentary that every American should watch and discern. Roger Waters is not against the good citizens of Isreal and his stance has nothing to do with any religion at all. He gets called names to shut him up as is their tactic. So I hope you will watch Occupation of the American Mind and analze it for yourself.
Please urge Robert Kennedy Jr to watch it. I have already. He told us when he is in error to tell him and he may change his mind. This is one of those times.
