FAQ
I live in Belize/Canada/Nicaragua/USA, why are you posting on a Saturday?! Because I'm writing this from Europe in the future where it's already Sunday. Timezones be crazy.
Why are there a bunch of non-board games in the board game list? Because the Tabletop games category on Kickstarter includes anything remotely related to board games and sometimes things slip through my filters.
Why is this future award winning board game and literal saviour of humanity missing from your list? Sometimes my filters get a bit overzealous and discard actually valid projects. If you feel something is missing for this reason, leave a comment and I'll add it (maybe).
Can I donate all my money to you? No
Can you help me promote my game? Please no. I make lists. Nothing more.
Your list is full of errors and now my vacuum cleaner sucks! Indeed, this fine piece of code runs purely on meatballs and schnapps, so anything can happen. Leave a comment and I'll see what I can do.

2023.05.28 09:41 InVeryHarsh Alternate Timeline: 1958 House of Representatives Election
| Lyndon B. Johnson Presidency(Democrat): -Barnstormed the south to quell Civil Rights tensions -1957 Recession, country recovered within a year -Little Rock crisis, President Johnson sends Federal troops in response -Protests against Civil Rights in the south increase tenfold -Increased funding toward space program -Soviets launch Sputnik, U.S. launch successful Explorer 1 few months later -Johnson opposes Republican union bill -Environmental issues brought up by liberals and socialists, LBJ ignores topic -Issues with Vice President John F. Kennedy The United States hasn’t seen division like this since the years before the Civil War. As the Civil Rights Movement ramps up the people of the south continue to fiercely protest and riot against it. Fear has also stricken the country as the Soviet Union and its allies seemingly get more aggressive by the day, and on the technological front are seemingly ahead in space technology. The four parties are gunning to gain seats to try and implement their plans to deal with the problems facing the nation. Republican House Leader Joseph W. Martin Jr. Republicans After a very strong showing four years ago the Republican Party has the opportunity to gain numbers in both the House and further their lead in the Senate to push their legislation. Despite the south protesting and voting viciously against Civil Rights, the Republicans have doubled down and advocated for another Civil Rights bill further protecting African Americans. Rising stars in the party such as Governor Nelson Rockefeller of New York and Senator Barry Goldwater of Arizona have put the party in the good graces of African Americans. Though after so many unsuccessful years the movement has decreased, a push for a bill that would curb the powers of unions is still advocated by Republicans who continue to cite union boss corruption and abuses of powers. On the Single Payer Healthcare system and Social Security, most Republicans are fine with keeping it in place but a rising conservative faction of the party has supported re-privatisation. On foreign policy, the Republicans have supported actions against the USSR such as funding groups against Communist presence in foreign countries and continue funding toward our current allies, old and new, they have also supported more funding toward the space program to beat the USSR. Democrat House Leader Sam Rayburn Democrats The Democrats are a changing party, as more and more continue to support the Civil Rights Movement. However there is still a dedicated southern faction who vehemently oppose the movement known as the Dixiecrats. After a decent showing in 1954, they have the third most seats in the House while they are tied with the Socialists in the Senate, they are now hoping to gain some ground in both houses. As said above most Democrats are turning toward supporting Civil Rights, but there is a dedicated southern faction who greatly oppose the movement. Very much unlike the Republicans, the Democrats greatly oppose any bills that attempt to curb the power of unions. On the Single Payer Healthcare system and Social Security, they support keeping them as is and do not support re-privatisation as a whole. Like the Republicans they support funding groups within countries supposedly infiltrated by Communism. However during President Eleanor Roosevelt's presidency she opposed the overthrow of the elected leader of Iran on the basis of Communist infiltration and instead supported the country. They also support funding the newly created space program to beat the Soviet Union technologically. Socialist House leader Maynard C. Krueger Socialists The Socialists are in the opposite position compared to the Republicans as they lead in the House and are tied with the Democrats in the Senate. They hope they'll be able to lead in both houses of Congress to pass their legislation. Despite the issue having died down, the Socialists still support nationalizing more industries as they believe certain industries will run better under the government and that workers will be treated better as Federal workers. As they’ve done for years, the Socialists support the ever growing Civil Rights Movement which further alienates southerners who oppose the movement. On the Single Payer Healthcare system, the Socialists would like to put healthcare resources further in government control as opposed to contracting services from private companies which is what the government currently and partly does. They also oppose removing funding or changing Social Security as proposed by some conservatives. Like the Democrats they oppose bills trying to curb the powers of unions. On foreign policy the Socialists support funding our allies against the aggressive Soviet Union, but they have opposed funding rebel groups in countries supposedly infiltrated by Communism due to lack of knowledge about said groups. Longist House Leader Ralph Yarbrough Longist At one point a rising party in Congress, the party of President Long, is at threat of going under entirely. They have by far the least amount of seats in both houses of Congress and need to hope for a good showing otherwise the party may dissolve into the other three parties. On issues, despite the topic having cooled down in the past few years the Longists support further nationalizing certain industries like the Socialists. On Civil Rights the party has two factions, the sizable majority faction that supports the Civil Rights Movement most from the north and the vocal minority faction who oppose the movement mostly from the south. There have been some concerns that were the party to dissolve, the minority faction opposing Civil Rights may team up with the fierce and also very vocal Dixiecrats who also oppose the movement. On Single Payer Healthcare they have continued their long standing position of supporting making the government less reliant on private companies to carry out healthcare but they still support allowing people to go to private companies for healthcare if they want to. Like the Socialists they support keeping Social Security as is and oppose changes to it. On foreign policy most Lognists have turned away from isolationism in this day in age and do support funding our allies against the Soviet Union and wouldn't be opposed to funding native groups in countries supposedly infiltrated by Communism. On the Single Payer Healthcare system and Social Security, they support keeping them as is and do not support reprivatisation as a whole. Socialist Senate Leader Frank Zeidler Socialists The Socialists are in the opposite position compared to the Republicans as they lead in the House and are tied with the Democrats in the Senate. Longist Senate Leader Robert M. La Follette Jr. Longist At one point a rising party in Congress, the party of President Long, is at threat of going under entirely. 2023.05.28 09:32 Capable-Squash-5071 How to Hack and “Fix” a Bad Credit Score How to Improve a Bad Credit Score.
To fix a bad credit score, understand the basic contributors to credit—including whether you pay your bills on time and whether you carry balances on credit cards—and identify the factors that are making a negative impact. Checking for errors on your credit report is also an important step. [
[email protected]](mailto:
[email protected])
Your credit score is a three-digit number, usually between 300 and 850, that's based on the information in your credit report. It's valuable for lenders, who need to understand how likely you are to repay money you borrow.
While there are several credit scoring models with different score ranges, 700 or higher is generally considered a good credit score, while 800 or higher is excellent. If your score isn't quite in that range, here's how to get it back in shape. [
[email protected]](mailto:
[email protected])
What Is a Bad Credit Score?
On the FICO® Score☉ 8 scale of 300 to 850, one of the credit scores lenders most frequently use, a bad credit score is one below 670. More specifically, a score between 580 and 669 is considered fair, and one between 300 and 579 is poor.
VantageScore®, another credit scoring model which was developed by the three main credit bureaus (Experian, TransUnion and Equifax), also uses a scale ranging from 300 to 850. But its definitions associated with each score range vary slightly. A VantageScore from 601 to 660 is considered fair, from 500 to 600 is poor, and from 300 to 499 is very poor.
The higher your credit score, the more likely you are to qualify for credit, and at better interest rates and terms. If your score is low, it can be difficult to obtain affordable credit or to get approved for a loan or credit card at all. [
[email protected]](mailto:
[email protected])
You can think of maintaining good credit as preventive medicine. You don't know when something might come up, like a breakup that means having to find a new apartment fast, but good credit can help you handle any affliction with less hassle.
A bad credit score can lead to these roadblocks:
- Potential rejection for loans and lines of credit.
- Difficulty getting a rental application approved.
- Required security deposits.
- Trouble getting a new cell phone contract.
- Issues during an employment background check.
- Higher insurance premiums in some states.
How to Improve a Bad Credit Score
Credit scores aren't static; they change when the information in your credit report changes. That means you can take control of your financial health now and make moves that will positively affect your credit scores. Here's how. [

Once you've done the hard work to fix a bad credit score, keeping up the momentum is the steps above.
If a card has a high annual fee and you're no longer using it, weigh the potential tradeoffs of a shorter credit history with the money you could save. [
[email protected]](mailto:

Credit mix, or the range of credit types you have in your name, makes up 10% of a FICO® Score. You don't need to take out a new loan merely to diversify your credit mix. But dependably managing a credit card is one of the most effective ways to maintain a good credit score. So if you haven't opened your own credit card in the past, consider applying for a secured credit card, which will require a deposit that typically also becomes your credit limit.
If you take these steps and still find yourself struggling, getting help FROM A
Enigma Hack may allow you to get back on track.
Be wary of any organization that promises to repair your credit with little or no time or effort. Improving your credit status takes time. Ultimately, there's nothing a credit repair company does that you can't do yourself with time and effort. [

The Bottom Line
A bad credit score doesn't have to weigh you down. There are concrete actions you can take today and in the future to improve it, and to keep your score as high as possible.
Knowing where you stand, and making it a point not to avoid the reality of your credit status, are perhaps the most important ongoing tactics in the drive to improve credit. Check your credit report and score regularly using a free online service like the one available from Experian, and feel empowered knowing you can master your own financial well-being.

Memory Transcription Subject: Vikam, Venlil Space Corps Officer Date: [Standardized Human Time] July 2nd, 2136 The ghost signal.
It had started as faint readings that rapidly spread across the entirety of know space, manifesting as a sort of white noise in the background of Federation communications and networks, so weak it could only be picked up by our strongest equipment, and even then it was so barely noticeable that for decades most had written it off as a simple statistical error or calibration issue. Until we noticed it was getting louder. Wherever we went it was always there, as if it were not a signal but rather a reading we were unintentionally picking up, one that had been getting stronger from the moment it had appeared. The signal that over a century ago could only be picked up by the strongest of our communications arrays, was starting to now impact those same arrays, and not just that, but even innocuous things like holopads and other civilian equipment had begun to malfunction at a much higher rate.
At this point the idea of it being a mere software glitch or hardware issue had been long since thrown out, not a single software update, code rewrite, or hardware swap had done a single thing to solve the mystery. But it was ever so slightly stronger in some sectors than others, and with the signals ever increasing strength we have finally been able to tell the relative difference in strength from one sector to another. Now the most concerning thing to me was that the signal was strongest nearest to Venlil Prime.
To say this revelation was worrying would be beyond an understatement, both to our own people and the wider Federation, we sit on both the border with the Arxur and unknown space, the idea that this wasn’t an anomaly but rather an attack or weapon caused even greater panic than we had ever seen before.
If this was the Arxur that would mean that they are in possession of a weapon that could have the potential to cripple our ships and communications, leaving worlds defenseless and unable to even call for help, serving our worlds to them on a platter without even a single shot fired in defense. The idea alone keeps me awake at night, thinking that we could be at the complete mercy of another who would see us dead or enslaved.
However the second option was somehow just as frightening. If it’s not the Arxur, then what is it? Where is it coming from? Is it even coming from a single place? Though I guess that last question did have some kind of answer. A few [years] back the readings spiked to unprecedented levels, causing mass electronic malfunctions across the entire federation before falling back down to a steady level, albeit much higher than ever before. However this time instead of seemingly appearing all at once, the spike seemed to rapidly cascade across space, and by mapping out the miniscule differences in time we could gain a general direction of its source, and that source was far out beyond any known space of both the Arxur and Federation.
Well I guess that’s why I'm here. Or rather why all of us are all the way out here in what might as well be the middle of nowhere on the edge of Venlil space, chasing this ghost signal to find its source, failing that, finding out what it really is.
I don’t like being out here, I don't think any of us do. I don’t know why, but I feel like the longer I stay out here, the more I feel like… like we’re being watched. The further we go into the outer territories the more uneasy I start to feel, and from what I’ve overheard from the rest of the crew, I’m not the only one. Honestly I’d rather be back home right now, the longer I stay out here the worse and worse it's been getting.
I’ve been having… nightmares. Recurring ones, for [months] now. Worlds burning, their surfaces charred and cracked like charcoal, the surface scarred with a symbol glowing a burning red. A five pointed star sitting inside a circle. Each time I fall asleep it’s a different world, Venlil Prime, The Cradle, Mileau, Nishtal, Aafa. I don’t know how I know what world I see given the destruction, it’s like there’s some knowledge planted in the back of my mind telling me what I’m being forced to look at. I wish it ended there, but every time, after witnessing worlds burn, I'm forced down into a ship or put on the surface.
Usually nightmares come from some experience in the real world, an Arxur raid, a predator attack, or simply a horrible accident. I had never thought that a nightmare itself could be a direct source of fear. But those… things, defied all logic. How could life ever evolve on any world to end up like…
that, ignoring how such creatures could even develop any technology at all, somehow being more brutal than even the Arxur have ever been, if such an idea was even possible. Every night I am haunted by creatures tearing people apart, worlds burning, and red ships descending on whatever remains.
I’ve obviously developed some form of predator disease, that's the only explanation for why my mind has been spiraling down and down all these [months]. Only the deranged mind of a predator would be consumed by thoughts of nothing but death and destruction night after night. Sometimes when we jump into subspace I swear I can hear whispers. And now I know I’m going crazy because, well, when I look at the ship diagnostics it almost looks like something is shaking the ship
while in subspace. Some of our fleet look like they have emerged from subspace with damage to the hull. It’s progressed so far I’m hallucinating.
The impact this has had on my mind has been steadily deteriorating my performance and I’m worried that someone will find out. If that happens I'll lose everything, my life, my herd, my family. Luckily nobody seems to have noticed yet. Still I wonder how long I can keep this ruse going, how long I can convince everyone I’m a normal person.
“Vikam, Anything to report?” The captain of the ‘Steady River’ asked me as he entered the bridge, probably having just woken up given his general lack of tidiness.
“Nothing unusual captain, readings here are only marginally higher, less than point-seven percent, however our long range scanners have picked up surges coming from this system here.” I projected the star map to the captain's display, showing an area several systems away where we had detected a similar pulse to the one from [years] ago, albeit much, much smaller.
“How long ago was this?” The captain perked up near instantly.
“Just over a claw ago it seems.” Apparently this set him off.
“What!? And you didn’t tell me!? If we finally have a solid location on these readings we need to investigate immediately!” One of the techs on the bridge spoke up after the captains’ outburst.
“Umm sir, what if it
is the Arxur?”
“If it is, don't you think we need to know!? That’s the entire point of this expedition! Vikam, tell the fleet to prepare to jump. If it is the Arxur, we need to arrive simultaneously so we aren’t sitting alone without help.” The captain gave his orders and I obeyed, coordinating with the other capital ships of the fleet to act as anchors for the smaller ships to follow into subspace.
Our ‘exploration’ fleet was little more than a bunch of warships with science equipment strapped to them. Over 1200 ships split into four search groups, some splitting even further beyond that, would all now reconvene and jump to this system, if it was the Arxur we would need every ship available to beat them back and hopefully capture whatever technology was causing this. Personally I scoffed at the idea that the Arxur could come up with anything that could do this, I doubt they even have the capability of inventing things beyond new torture methods, considering everything they have was given to them. It doesn’t matter, our fleet was reinforced with some of the newest and strongest ships we could build, the Steady River is of a new ‘Heavy Cruiser’ pattern, a fresh off the line Farsul ship with enough armor to take on any Arxur vessel and measuring in at a massive [800 meters]! And we managed to negotiate to buy four of them! And received eight more directly from the Farsul navy! Combining them with the other ships sent as part of the combined search effort, our fleet had 26 capital ships and over 500 cruisers, with the rest of the fleet being filled in by bombers, frigates, corvettes, and patrol craft. I’m pretty confident we can take a few savage reptiles.
“All sub-fleets present, preparing for subspace jump.” a voice called out somewhere on the other side of the bridge as I double checked the fleet registry, ensuring all ships were accounted for and properly linking with their respective capital ships for the aforementioned jump. I began the countdown.
“Synchronization complete, subspace drive spooling up… Preparing to jump in three… two... one… Now.” The stars visible from the viewports rapidly shifted from white to blue, to purple, and then vanished as we entered subspace and the bridge was bathed in light blue.
“All ships have successfully jumped and are in formation. We will arrive at our destination shortly.” I gave a quick update before the tech from before spoke up again.
“Captain, should we prepare for the possibility of the grays showing up?”
“Mm… Yes, pre-charge our weapons and have the crews on alert before we re-enter realspace.”
Uhh, I’m not so sure about that. “Sir, is it wise to jump into an unknown situation with our fleet prepared to attack? There’s still a possibility that an entirely unknown party is responsible for the readings, and to be honest I don’t believe the Arxur are capable of such a thing as this. If they could cripple the entire Federation at once wouldn’t we already be dead?”
“And you’d rather us go in completely undefended? If it’s the grays then we’ll be ready and with greater numbers, if it’s an uncontacted species then they need to be warned of the Arxur and join the Federation as soon as possible, and if it’s simply a natural anomaly, then our actions don’t matter. I’d rather be prepared than caught off guard and served on a plate to those savages, if they even know what plates are.” The captain half ranted towards the crew. Once again the tech from before interjected just as I was going to offer my counterpoints.
“S-sir, what if it's another pred-” he was cut off by the captain laughing.
“It’s what? Other predators? Ha! Need I remind you that not a single predator has ever made it beyond their world without
our help. Now tell the weapon crews to be ready.”
I don’t know if it’s my lack of decent sleep, but it almost seems like the captain has been becoming just as irritable and out of it as I am, becoming more and more paranoid about being attacked, and keeping the sensor and weapon crews on near constant alert when searching through systems and the occasional asteroid field.
I switched one of my displays to check our progress, and just as we passed the three quarter mark something strange started to happen.
Shaking. The ship was shaking. And not just a little, it feels like I’m in an atmospheric craft going through a storm but… but this shouldn’t even be possible! Not in space and
definitely not in subspace, there’s no precedent for this! There’s no such thing as turbulence in space! I slammed my paw down onto the touchscreen, hoping I hit the right button and rejoicing that I did when the ship's alarm blared and the brace warning went to all compartments. Worse still, it’s not just us.
According to what I’m seeing in the fleet communications, every single ship was experiencing the same instability we were. Some of the smaller ships were taking it so bad that they collided with each other due to the tight formation we flew in, the now wrecks instantly vanishing from subspace in a flash and becoming little more than shrapnel flying through realspace. Is this some kind of attack? People have theorized about subspace weapons but they’ve never gone beyond theories and imagination. What is going on!? If this continues we won’t have a fleet left by the time we arrive!
“S-sir we have to exit subspace right now! Our fleet is literally being torn apart!” I tried to plead with the captain but-
“No! Keep going! Tell all vessels to de-sync from their capital ships and distance themselves, even if it means we have staggered arrivals! We haven’t come all this way just to stop now!”
He’s gone insane, but I transmitted his order. Evidently all the fleet captains had agreed to this as our entire fleet de-synced from each other, but not before we lost several more ships in the process. Many had collided like the unfortunate ones before, and some simply dropped from subspace without any notice, if this was intentional or not I can’t say, but it’s entirely possible whatever is causing this forced them to do so, seeing as our own subspace drive was being pushed to its limits.
I could do nothing but squeeze my eyes shut and push myself as far back into my chair as I could, waiting for this to be over. I couldn’t see it, but I could hear the panic around me as I could imagine everyone else was having a similar response.
A bright flash of white and blue, and then…
Nothing.
Slowly I opened my eyes and saw my computer displaying a message stating our arrival at our destination and the pings indicating the arrival of the others. Raising my head slightly I looked around the bridge and out the viewports. The still panicking crew, the captain heavily breathing and leaning back with his eyes closed, the systems dual stare-
Wait, no. This system is only supposed to have one star, every single scan and map has this system as having a single star. But there, a second one stood, much smaller than the first, and… it looked… wrong. Just wrong. Instead of burning it looked like it was boiling, and had tendrils of red energy splitting off of it, with two much larger ones coming from opposite ends, splitting the void around it in two. I was so caught up in the sight of it, I barely noticed the rest of the fleet arriving, or what’s left of it. We lost over two hundred ships just getting here, either destroyed or dropped out of subspace before arriving.
“What is… what am I looking at here?” The captain, now sitting up straight, spoke everyone's thoughts out loud. “Scan that immediately!”
It’s obvious we’ve found the source of the ghost signal, however being so close to it meant that our equipment which was barely working in the first place, now struggled to even look at that… thing.
Well at least I know my initial judgment was wrong, the anomaly wasn’t a star, or even the size of one, rather it was the size of a small moon. Our sensors mistook it for a star, as it had the full output of one. This relatively tiny object in space was emitting a higher level of energy than the system's own star, but none of the sensors could make any sense of what it was or even the type of energy it was emitting, every sensor we pointed at it was overloaded with errors, but… there were objects… coming
through the anomaly.
“Sir I c-can- we can’t make any sense of… what this-” I tried to give some explanation but was cut off by the sensors giving off a very different alert, ship detections, thousands of them. Tens of thousands of them. “C-captain I-I’m picking up something, there’s ships coming f-from that… that thing!”
The entire bridge scrambled to get the equipment back in order as everyone wanted to know what was going on, how anything could survive being near the anomaly that nearly fried our systems, never mind coming directly out of it. Was it even an anomaly in the first place? Had we come across some race that was so advanced that they could literally tear reality as a means of travel? Was our inability to scan it merely a by-product or intentional design? Whatever it was, the energy used was like nothing we had ever seen, or even theorized of.
I pulled up as many sensors and screens as I could to get a look at those ships and-
My heart almost stopped.
I could hear nothing but ringing and my ever increasing heart beat. I feel freezing cold and burning hot all at once. I sunk my claws into my left arm to check I’m not still in a nightmare, I wish I was, but this is real.
All of those ships are real.
Red ships.
Those things, pulled straight from my nightmares, were now bearing down on us. I could do nothing but stare in frozen horror as the automated reports indicated over three thousand ships headed to our direct position. I could do nothing as that same red energy effortlessly lanced through our ships, tearing our already loose formation apart. I could do nothing as every ship fired back in panic, the interference preventing mass communication as the fleet desperately tried to return fire. I could do nothing as-
As a green light quickly overcame the visual sensors, and just as quickly left. The ship I was watching returned to view, now a gutted lifeless wreck, burning green from the inside out. Its strange tentacles that sprouted from the bottom now limply floating in the void alongside the shattered pieces of what remained.
What. Was. That.
The interference must have been greater than I thought, because those red ships were not the only thing out there. Scanning the system as fast as I could, I saw other ships on the other side, facing the anomaly, not the same sinister red, but a pale gray. Massive ships that dwarfed all but the most gargantuan of the crimson attackers. By the stars, even the smallest of those ships was almost as big as a standard cruiser! And those capital ships… they must be at least [2000 meters]!
I would’ve asked why any sane race would build such things, but those red ships varied in size so greatly that many surpassed the gray behemoths, sometimes even more than twice over!
That knocked me out of my stupor, the pale behemoths were holding off tens out thousands of vessels whilst our scanners indicated they possessed a mere five thousand, each firing off green and blue beams alongside endless swarms of missiles and kinetic fire so numerous the red ships couldn’t physically evade.
Plasma and kinetics I understand, although strange that it was bright blue and not the standard white, but that green energy was just as unknowable as the red coming from the anomaly and those damnable nightmare ships. Even their missiles detonated with pulses of green instead of the anti-matter design used by every known race.
What had we walked in on? We had just barged into two forces engaged in one of the largest battles in history, using completely unknown technology, and now one side was protecting us, or at the very least, attacking our attackers.
My hearing was finally coming back to me. “W-WE CAN’T REFORM! FLEET COMMUNICATIONS ARE OVERLOADED!” A tech screamed, a response to an order from the captain I hadn’t heard. Everyone was screaming, the bridge was in utter chaos, and the rest of the fleet was faring no better, hundreds already lost, our fighters and bombers were easily picked off by those cross-ships, and we couldn’t even communicate with how overworked our ship systems were directly after that horrid jump.
We could do little to save ourselves. But there were others who could, and were seemingly setting out to do just that.
Green and blue bolts began to mesh with our white plasma, part of that pale fleet had broken off and were assaulting the red fleet from our right flank, creating a cross of fire, though it was plainly evident that these unknown people were doing most of the work, as our shots went wide or failed to strike through the enemies shields and flowed off their armor like water. Our only true success was taking down those fighters, and a few groups having an unspoken agreement to collectively target some of the relatively smaller enemy vessels, finally destroying them after putting dozens of shots through their thick armor, creating a mosaic of burning dots.
We had no time to cheer, a few dozen out of thousands didn’t mean anything, even with the encroaching pale fleet doing most of the work, fortunately this also meant that the unknown predators started focusing their efforts on them instead of us, giving our ships a small reprieve.
A voice rose above the cacophony of mayhem in the bridge “Sir there’s something coming through comms!” What? I thought-
“I THOUGHT YOU SAID COMMS WERE OFFLINE!?” Exactly what I was thinking, though with less screaming involved.
“They were, but-” He was cut off as static overpowered every noise in the bridge, my console indicating it was a message being broadcasted from the pale fleet. An incredibly distorted voice was barely heard through the static.
“Unknown fl_________re in gr___ danger _____ reactiv________ Anima Fie_______ re-r____ to Al___ Centa___ im___iately. If you __________ any lon____ you___________ apart.” Alongside the near indecipherable broadcast, came a packet of data that was so heavily encrypted that I don’t think an entire planet's worth of computers trying to decode it could do so in anything less than a decade, but even so, the message was clear, or maybe it’s just what I wanted to hear. Leave.
The pale fleet was now sitting between the red fleet and us, firing off massive energy beams from what I can only assume are spinal cannons like our own, only these ones were shredding through the predators en masse. Now that they were much closer, the pale ships began firing green orbs, moving slower than the beams, but whenever they neared a foe, green arcs of energy shot out and scorched anything they touched, before the orb detonated in a flash of light, sending out one last pulse of lightning to destroy whatever it could before vanishing.
We had little time to admire the artistry and effectiveness of these strange weapons, with the pressure now off our own fleet, every ship began to prepare to jump back to a predetermined fall back point.
Wait- no! That’s insane! We’ll never survive jumping back into subspace!
But it was too late for me to voice my objections, white became blue, blue became purple, and the stars disappeared as we jumped back into the azure abyss that would surely be our death.

done! Thank you to everyone who voted in the poll, and I hope this chapter meets your expectations for an intro to Argent Earth, with our first character being just a little guy who’s being endlessly tormented by nightmares now brought to life. Someone get this man a donut.
We see some new Federation ships and an exploration fleet coming up against forces beyond their understanding, and our first look at the ARC navy.
Now for some clarification in case someone didn’t get it so I don’t have to reply in the comments:
The ghost signal - not a real signal, demonic energy interferes with technology but they don’t know that. It’s the interference they’re picking up, which has been slowly increasing as the veil thins and rifts are made. Also a Stellaris reference.
Turbulence - The ‘turbulence’ was their ship's subspace drives and systems malfunctioning because they essentially jumped right on top of a rift without any kind of shielding. To put it in 40K terms, they basically jumped into a warp storm without a gellar field, and got off real lucky.
Demon proof your tech kids. Though that can be hard if you don’t know they exist.

2023.05.28 03:41 palocci The Brazilian "Secular Stagnation" and what Lula can do about it
| Introduction Here's another effortpost on Brazil! This time I'll be talking about why the Brazilian economy stagnated, and what we can expect from Lula in terms of economic policy (I've talked about this in the past but now I'll go into more detail). Between 1920 and 1980, Brazil was a clear economic success story. For 60 years, our GDP grew at an average of 4% a year. This 'golden age' ended in a hyperinflation crisis, which made the 1980s become known as a 'lost decade', and since its resolution in 1994 with the Plano Real, our economy has experienced minimal growth: from 1980 to 2020, the average GDP growth rate was only 0.7%. Evolution of the Brazilian per capita product, at 2010 prices, from 1900 to 2021. The scale of the graph is logarithmic in base 2. In this post, I'll try to explain the reasons for Brazil's low growth in the last four decades and what Lula's plans are to address them. The debate Before delving into the actual causes of the "semi-stagnation", I would like to explain the economic debate in Brazil. This debate revolves around two major groups of economists: the "developmentalists" and the "liberals." The term "developmentalism" may be unfamiliar to many people here, but it is very present in Latin America. A decent explanation for it could be "dirigisme with Latam characteristics." In short, liberalism in this context is associated with economic orthodoxy and a pro-market orientation in economic policy, while developmentalism leans towards economic heterodoxy and advocates for direct state interference in the economy. This debate is, in theory, separate from the traditional right versus left political divide, as we have had governments from both ends of the political spectrum adopting policies aligned with either school of thought. For instance, Lula I (2003-2007) represented a left-wing liberal government, while Geisel (1974-1979) presided over a right-wing developmentalist government. However, in practice, liberalism is associated with the right-wing while developmentalism is associated with the left-wing. One area of major divergence between those two groups is full employment. Liberals argue that the Brazilian economy generally operates at full employment, which means that there are well-defined supply-side limits and restrictions in the economy, whereas developmentalists believe it tends to operate below that level. This implies that the economy's natural state is one of perpetual aggregate demand deficiency, and thus the government could just increase spending to mobilize idle production factors and stimulate economic growth. Furthermore, liberals typically view direct state intervention in the economy with distrust, opposing increased public investments in infrastructure and most forms of industrial policy. Their preference generally leans towards reducing government spending and relying on a 'crowding in' effect, together with supply-side reforms. Conversely, developmentalists perceive state intervention as a necessity to stimulate the economy, favoring a robust industrial policy and increased public investments. Those are significant oversimplifications, and many economists do not align themselves with either group. In any case, I would say this categorization reasonably represents the current debate. It's a tradition in Brazil to divide ministries between liberals and developmentalists to ensure a balance between the two. The current Finance Minister, Fernando Haddad, believes in a middle ground approach, with some of his secretaries (e.g., Guilherme Mello) leaning more towards developmentalism, while others (e.g., Bernard Appy) lean more towards liberalism. Planning Minister Simone Tebet and Industry and Commerce Minister Geraldo Alckmin are firmly in the liberal camp. However, due to the nature of his ministry, Geraldo Alckmin will probably concede more to developmentalist policies (as he's already doing). Aloizio Mercadante, the President of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), is considered the leader of the developmentalist branch of the government, along with Workers' Party President Gleisi Hoffmann (some people jokingly refer to her as the main opposition to Fernando Haddad and the 'Twitter Shadow Finance Minister' due to some of her tweets). Without further ado, let's get to the causes of Brazil's stagnation. Guido Mantega (Finance Minister between 2006 and 2014) and Antônio Palocci (Finance Minister between 2003 and 2006). Mantega is associated to developmentalism and Palocci to liberalism. Education First of all, the significant growth of the 20th century left a terrible educational legacy. Brazil only began to have a somewhat consistent educational policy in the 1990s and 2000s, when basic education was universalized. To put it into perspective, in 1990, the average number of years of schooling in Brazil was 3.8 years. Even Sub-Saharan African countries like Congo, Zimbabwe, and Zambia had higher average schooling levels than ours. Approximately a quarter of the population were illiterate. The key change came with the 1988 Constitution, which decided that Brazil would try to become an European-style social democracy. Since then, considerable progress has been made, but clearly not enough. The main educational bottleneck lies in Elementary School II, which typically spans the ages of 12 to 15. It is during this stage in Brazil that the discrepancy between age and the appropriate grade level drastically increases, leading to higher rates of grade repetition and students falling behind in their education. This problem is probably related to the transition from a single teacher trained in pedagogy in Elementary I to several specialists teaching only one subject. This transition also occurs at the onset of adolescence, which is naturally a turbulent phase already, with the introduction of drugs, alcohol and various forms of prejudice being normal. The result ends up being a distancing of the student from school. Two Brazilian states, which have been governed by center-left parties for many years, serve as examples in Brazilian educational policy: Pernambuco and Ceará. A highlight in Ceará is the Programa de Afabetização na Idade Certa (Program of Alphabetization in the Right Age), which aims to ensure that all students in the state's public school systems achieve literacy by the age of 7. The plan was based on the following pillars: (1) the elaboration of a specialized literacy curriculum that was adopted in all the municipalities, with structured materials for teachers and students containing a daily routine of classroom activities and homework assignments; (2) pedagogical practices to encourage reading in the classroom; (3) financial incentives for the municipalities that achieve better results in education; and (4) evaluation and monitoring of the program, with a census and diagnostic test that is applied at the beginning of every semester. Pernambuco has implemented a Full-Time High School system that stands out. The system is based on the following pillars: (1) the introduction of a subject called "life project," which encourages students to create plans with goals and objectives for their lives; (2) guided study, providing a space for autonomy in learning and fostering self-directed learning skills; (3) hands-on, practical classes that combine theory and practice; (4) youth clubs, where collective interests of young people are pursued; (5) tutoring, where teachers (tutors) interact with students to support their development; and (6) full-time education, of course. Both plans have been tremendous successes and could be implemented nationwide. The Member of Parliament Tabata Amaral has proposed the program "basic education like Ceará's, high school like Pernambuco's." We might see that put in practice. Izolda Cela, the mind behind Ceará's basic education plan, is the Executive-Secretary of the Ministry of Education, and the current Minister of Education is Camilo Santana, the governor of Ceará between 2014 and 2022. Izolda Cela (Executive-Secretary of the Ministry of Education) and Camilo Santana (Minister of Education). Public Investments Furthermore, there is a general consensus that the significant decrease in public investment since 1980 explains part of the problem. During the Golden Age of Brazilian growth, public investment mounted to about 6% of GDP, whereas it currently stands at approximately 4% since the lost decade. Liberal economists tend to attribute this to the expansion of the welfare state, that came with a substantial increase in the tax burden (from 25% of GDP in the 1970s to 35% in 2000). On the other hand, developmentalist economists point to the decline in public savings due to the privatization of state-owned enterprises in the 1990s. In his second government, Lula created the Programa de Aceleração do Crescimento (PAC) (Growth Acceleration Program), whose objective was precisely to expand public investments. Unfortunately, the plan ended up with highly controversial results, primarily due to the low administrative capacity of the Brazilian State and corruption (some like to call the plan the Corruption Acceleration Program!). But now the Workers' Party has gained new experience. Many of its state governments became famous for extensive investment programs in partnership with the private sector, delivering positive results. Chief of Staff Rui Costa, in particular, had a successful experience with public-private investments during his tenure as the governor of Bahia. He is now expected to lead the "New PAC", which will probably be announced at some point between today and July. (The project still has no name and is provisionally being called "New PAC"). Here's what Rui Costa has said about the project: "We will have, in an unprecedented way, investments with Public Private Partnerships (PPIs) at the federal level. Many states, including Bahia, have made PPI projects. [...] We are negotiating with the Ministry of Finance the conditions for guarantees so that we can leverage these projects." Lula wants to meet with the 27 state governors to determine which state projects the Union should prioritize for its investments. In recent weeks, Costa has held individual meetings with the state governments to define which projects will be included in the new PAC. In all, eight governors have already been heard. In a speech on the May 1st holiday, Lula said the following about the project: "We are inviting foreign businessmen to invest in Brazil and we are showing them the great projects that we are going to present in the third PAC. It will be the largest infrastructure project in this country." Former Governor of Bahia (2014 - 2022) and current Chief of Staff Rui Costa. Deindustrialization Another problem is the early deindustrialization that is taking place in Brazil: we are losing our industry before becoming rich. In the beginning of the lost decade, the industry accounted for one-quarter of the Brazilian GDP, whereas today it represents around one-tenth. The reason for this process is complex, and once again, economists disagree. Liberals point to the new form of production organization that emerged with globalization, where the manufacturing of goods was fragmented into different stages, each executed in different countries. According to this line of thinking, Brazil failed to adapt to the new industrial configuration and remained stuck in an unrealistic autarkic dream. On the other hand, developmentalist economists usually argue that after the end of hyperinflation, Brazil fell into a trap of having an overvalued currency and high interest rates, demolishing the industry's competitiveness. (I am more inclined towards the first thesis, although it is a fact that the Brazilian exchange rate was detrimental to the industry after the Real Plan). Now I want to talk a little bit about the Brazilian industrial bourgeoisie and its problems. In the 1960s, the then sociologist and future president Fernando Henrique Cardoso published his thesis on the Brazilian industrial entrepreneurs. Based on his research, he concluded that Brazilian industrialists did not have any national project, and (1) "only cared about their personal interests when speaking on behalf of the class" and (2) "[their] political action consists of personal participation in the patrimonialist game." Brazil has a serious problem related to what we call 'patrimonialism,' which refers to the capture of resources from the Brazilian state to benefit private interests. Unfortunately, industrial policy in Brazil often results in tax exemptions, subsidies, tariff protections, etc., for an inefficient, patrimonialist, and somewhat broken industry that was developed in the 20th century. The Workers' Party itself fell into this outdated corporatism while in power, especially during the first Rousseff administration (2011-2015). It is a shame that advocating for greater state involvement in the economy ends up becoming a defense of those interest groups. In this sense, I find myself opposed to both liberals and developmentalists. While the latter end up promoting an agenda that only benefits private interests, albeit with good intentions, the former dismiss any state planning, believing in an 'economic abiogenesis.' Since 2016, we have been reducing the role of the state and waiting for a crowding in effect, but with no success. We need strong a industrial policy, but it has to be transparent and not perpetuate the old game of patrimonialism. In the words of the brilliant economist Laura Carvalho: "We want a State that identifies ways to stimulate technological innovation and product development in partnership with the private sector. But this policy cannot become hostage to the existing private sector. We have remnants of our industry of the 20th century, for example the automobile industry, and when we do industrial policy, we end up just giving incentives to them. This is a state that does not choose winners, but rather is chosen by losers. Those who are struggling in the industry try to eat the resources of the state to survive." Unfortunately, the signals from the new Lula government are quite negative. Industry and Commerce Minister Geraldo Alckmin recently announced a plan of incentives for the automobile industry, which is essentially the same program that has failed several times in the past. There are positive things coming from his ministry, but few of them have much to do directly with a well-made industrial policy. It's a shame. His plans beyond industrial policy appear positive, as shown in the following excerpt, at least: "Brazil had an early deindustrialization. Europe also deindustrialized, but ours was precarious and severe. More than reindustrializing, we need a neo-reindustrialization. A central issue is the competitiveness agenda. There is a principle in medicine that says: suppress the cause and the effect ceases. We have to act on the causes of low growth. Our tax model generates an absurd cost for companies. It is not fair. We have an absurd judicialization that leads to legal insecurity and hinders exports. The whole world has a VAT (value added tax. I defend it. I think Haddad is doing well and I am a great enthusiast of the tax reform." Probably more than any other politician of expression today, Haddad positions himself as a republican and talks about reducing the patrimonialist distortions of the Brazilian public budget. He talks about "closing the drains of what is called Brazilian patrimonialism" and "ending a series of abuses that have been committed against the fiscal base" of the country. He says that many sectors have been "overly" benefited "with rules established over the decades and that have not been reviewed by any outcome control. Many have expired from the point of view of efficiency, and need to be revoked." Former Governor of São Paulo (2001 - 2006; 2010 - 2017) and current Vice-President of Brazil and Minister of Industry and Commerce Geraldo Alckmin. Business Environment Brazilian productivity has been stagnant for decades. What is causing this? The main suspect is the Brazilian tax system. There is an enormous complexity in the various indirect taxes (ISS, ICMS, PIS/Cofins, and IPI), which forces every company to have an excessively large department dedicated to tax payment. Additionally, numerous divergences of interpretation arise between the Federal Revenue, state authorities, and businesses. On every corner of our cities, there is a specialized tax law office to assist companies in dealing with the extremely high level of litigation in our taxation system. To make matters worse, our indirect taxes discourage investment in locations with higher social returns, as the tax complexity and special tax regimes artificially alter the profitability of investments and production. A general simplification of these taxes, with the adoption of a Value Added Tax, could have an impact on the economy's efficiency equivalent to the Plano Real, which ended hyperinflation. Even beyond the tax issue, the Brazilian business environment is terrible. According to the World Bank's Doing Business 2020 report, which measures the ease of doing business in 190 countries, Brazil ranks 124th. This problem is related to excessive bureaucracy, unexpected judicial decisions, loopholes in regulatory frameworks, and disrespect for contracts. The Tax Reform is going to be the government's main priority after the approval of the New Fiscal Anchor. Planning Minister Simone Tebet summed up the reform as follows: "The Tax reform is the only silver bullet that we have to save Brazil." And here's what Finance Minister Fernando Haddad has said about it: "There is no way to grow Brazil's productivity with this tax system [...] We are developing a tax reform that is even more modern, because it introduces in the national tax system a Value Added Tax that solves a good part of the flaws of the current system that, in my opinion, is the great villain for the low growth rates of our productivity." The idea is to approve the Tax Reform still this year (Haddad talks about doing it in the first semester!). Special Secretary for Tax Reform Bernard Appy. Economic Isolation Brazil has a very closed economy. Among the 160 countries analyzed by the World Bank, the Brazilian economy is only less open than that of Sudan. The average protection applied by Brazil to capital goods is 14 times higher than in Chile and 25 times higher than in Mexico. This is probably the most expressive cause of the low productivity and deindustrialization in Brazil, together with the tax system. Here, I quote the brilliant economist Edmar Bacha: "[The closure of the Brazilian economy during the Geisel government (1974 - 1979)] caused a tremendous drop in the economy's productivity and an increase in the cost of capital goods. And this, I believe, is what lies at the root of our stagnation after the so-called economic miracle (1968-1974). Our industry became unable to compete internationally. And we were forced, because the industry has this extraordinary lobbying capacity, to prevent the redesign of the Brazilian industry to participate in global value chains." Bacha's argument makes sense: the collapse of GDP growth coincides with the collapse of capital accumulation (the growth rate of the capital stock) after Geisel's government. Why did capital accumulation collapse? Bacha explains that using a decomposition of the investment = savings relationship: K' = s(1/p)v - δ, where K' = capital accumulation, s = savings rate, p = relative price of investment, v = output-capital ratio, and δ = depreciation rate. Between 1950-1980, the "golden age" of Brazil, K' grew at nearly 9% per year. Between 1981-2014, this number was 3%. Why? Looking at the historical series, the difference is not in savings or depreciation. What happened was that the output-capital ratio fell by about one-third, and the relative price of investment increased by one-third. In other words, the capital requirement per unit of output increased significantly, and at the same time, the price of investment goods rose significantly. According to Bacha, this process occurred between 1973 and 1983, a period in which the Military Government pursued an autarkic economic policy. The ideal scenario for Brazil would be to open its economy and have an export-oriented industry. The industry we have developed is heavily reliant on our domestic market, without external competition. In the words of economist Nelson Barbosa: "Brazil cannot produce ships, but it can produce airplanes. Brazil does not have car manufacturers, but it has bus manufacturers. Brazil cannot have a domestic production of microelectronics, but it has a good domestic production of electric motors. So we need to study what worked in these sectors to see if it can be replicated in other sectors. All these successful sectors, Embraer, Weg, Marco Polo, are sectors that are competitive in Brazil and in the world. Here is the first clue: correct industrial policies create domestic production that competes domestically and internationally. They are integrated products that import and export extensively. Value chains." However, an open trade policy without a plan may not be positive either. In Nelson's words: "Development always means increased productivity. Opening the economy can stimulate productivity, but it can also lead to a negative specialization. You can open your economy and become a country that only exports commodities, with an inflated services sector that only sells domestically, with a significant portion of your population relying on informal jobs. Which is what happens in Brazil. So I think trade openness is inevitable, more developed countries are more open, but thinking that just opening up will automatically lead to development is naïve and something we shouldn't do in the 21st century. I believe that strategic trade integration is crucial and necessary for development. Unilateral openness, without any plan, will only reinforce the specialization we already have today." In any case, it is certain that the current excessive protectionism cannot be maintained. Opening up would allow broader access for companies to (1) cheaper and higher-quality inputs and (2) foreign-produced capital goods and technology, (3) create significant competition effects to invigorate the economy, and (4) create a 'selection effect' that would eliminate losers and favor winners. But this is the agenda that I am least hopeful about. Trade openness is a topic that faces strong opposition from the Brazilian left and would likely only occur under a moderate center-right government. I hope, at least, that some trade agreements can be reached to open up the economy. The European Union-Mercosur trade agreement would have a significant impact and would be very important but I'm not very hopeful that it'll be approved. Haddad is still optimistic, though! He said that a more emphatic diplomatic effort will be made starting in the second semester, in a movement that will take advantage of Brazil's leadership in Mercosur and Spain's leadership in the European bloc. Simone Tebet (Planning Minister) and Fernando Haddad (Finance Minister). Interest Rates Interest rates in Brazil are much, much higher than the global average. Our credit is scarce and dysfunctional. Lula likes to repeat that Brazil is a capitalist country without capitalism because there is no credit. Brazil has the second-highest bank spread in the world, second only to Madagascar. This means that banks in Brazil charge very high interest rates for lending money. To give you an idea, Brazil's bank spread is higher than the average observed in countries at war. There are several reasons for this, but some stand out: (1) savings in Brazil have historically been very low (around 20% of GDP), (2) the government consumes a significant portion of savings to finance itself, and (3) the Brazilian banking sector is extremely concentrated, with a few banks dominating the entire sector. The other issue in this discussion is the current policy interest rate set by the Central Bank. Brazil currently has the highest real interest rate in the world, at around 9%. The debate about whether this interest level is correct or not is quite active in Brazil, with its proponents arguing that the current Brazilian inflation is demand-driven and pointing to inflation in the services sector and core inflation, while its critics argue that inflation is not demand-driven, pointing to the fact that Brazil has had a negative output gap since 2015 and that supply shocks can explain the inflation in services. This debate is complex, and it is hard to determine definitively which side is right. Nevertheless, the Central Bank is strongly adhering to the first thesis. The current Chairman of the Central Bank, Roberto Campos Neto (RCN), is the grandson of an economist of the Military Dictatorship and was appointed by Bolsonaro. He will remain in his position until 2024 due to the new autonomy granted to the Central Bank in 2021. In this scenario, Lula engaged in a public war against RCN, urging him to lower interest rates. The situation became tense, but Lula never showed any willingness to take effective action to remove him, remaining only in rhetoric. Throughout the conflict, Haddad positioned himself as a moderate, playing a certain "good cop, bad cop" game with Lula and gaining trust in the financial market. Apparently, Lula intends to nominate former executive-secretary of the Finance Ministry Gabriel Galípolo to replace RCN in 2024. He was recently appointed as director of monetary policy at the Central Bank, and is widely identified as a heterodox economist. Haddad's current plan is to stabilize Brazil's deficit to allow for a monetary loosening. Here's what he said: "We are not at a point where fiscal expansion is going to help the economy. If there is room for any stimulus, it will be monetary. If we know how to make the transition, there is room for a lower interest rate, you just have to give security to the monetary authority." He does not seem to be concerned about banking concentration, though. Chairman of the Central Bank Roberto Campos Neto. TL;DR The Brazilian economy has seen very little growth since the the lost decade in the 1980s. One of the primary factors contributing to this stagnation is the economy's low productivity. There are several reasons behind this low productivity, including: - Inadequate infrastructure and insufficient investments in its development.
- A significant delay in comparison to other countries in terms of investing in education.
- Unreasonable economic protectionism.
- Private groups exerting undue influence and capturing the Brazilian state (patrimonialism).
- Failure to adapt our industry to a globalized world.
- Excessively high bank spreads.
- A terrible business environment, particularly due to the tax system.
There are other reasons for sure, but I'd say most people would agree those are the most important ones. Also, here's my effortpost on the Workers' Party, in case you haven't read it. submitted by palocci to SocialDemocracy [link] [comments] |

2023.05.28 01:01 Real_Aios_blaise DRS guide "from almost everywhere"
| Hello everyone, I'm here to write a mid tier guide to DRS from almost anywhere. My number one concern are the local barriers that might appear. That's the main reason why am not making a full in-depth guide with pictures and memes. I'll try though. Guide Index: - PayPal
- Wise (TransferWise)
- IBKR (Interactive Brokers, EU)
- DRS & Computershare.
PayPal Step 1 I'll try to keep this brief in order to maintain a readable flow. PayPal is easy to go. Find it through Google search and click on the main page "PayPal.com". There, the top right corner will have the 'Create/open account' link. Follow instructions and come back when your main page is open and ready to go. In the main page, you will want to go to Funding or Fund my account. There, choose to add money to your balance. Follow steps as you see fit to your needs. You should be able to transfer funds from any currency into USD. This last part is important, but as far as I know, that is the purpose of PayPal. Locally, it will just ask for the most common debit cards, but I'm afraid it might be different for every country. I recommend to find a YouTube guide for your specific country. Godspeed everyone. Small note. Operations such as funding might take from a couple hours to 2-3 days. - Especial note. PayPal and Wise can be linked together. Once your wise account is set up, you can come back and add it to your banks accounts in PayPal, so the transfer goes even faster and commissions are reeeally low, like 0.3% or something like that.
Wise Step 2 It's been a while since I'm in the inner workings of Wise, so I might get some bits wrong. But I encourage you to find a YouTube guide to get a more assisted walkthrough to the platform. So, checking in the account it seems like the main steps will be to Sign in to create a new account. Follow the instructions for this. Go for personal use instead of business, since that seems to be the simpler account. Also, use USD as your balance type since PayPal has taken care of that for us. Use your country of residence to be asked for the number that will be set to the 2 security steps and open a balance. This last one will open up the main page of your account. Here is a link for the unable countries at the moment. It might be that everywhere else should be fine. https://wise.com/help/articles/2978049/which-countries-can-i-use-wise-in Main page. Here, open a new balance clicking in the " + " sign. Choose "balance" and go USD. This will open an account in the US. Now let's go back to the main page, and on the left, start looking for 'Manage'. Click on it, and look for account details. Select USD. And it will show you your US account details. Lets use this Info to fund the account. - (Also, you can just use a credit/debit card if that's an option for you)
Just go to PayPal with the details of your new US account. Pay And Receive in the PayPal main page -> Bank accounts and cards -> Associate new bank. Fill in the data. Now all you have to do is sent the funds you want to the account, and Wise will receive them for you. This might take a day to get through. - In any case, If any problem arises, just remember to go to YouTube and look for the main issue. Guides for this operations are everywhere.
Lastly, we will be getting ready to send money to IBKR. - Note; this process will take several days, between 3-5 days to settle, and then you have to wait another day to settle a buy, and then wait 2 days to get the transfer approved. my take on this is, don't be in a rush.
- There's a new link between the IBKR account and the Wise account. Kinda, "in the last month" type of new.
Interactive Brokers EU (IBKR) Step 3 First of all, set up an IBKR account. Just go to the main page, Sign in, and follow the instructions. Once you have your main page up, select "deposit" in the left side of the page. "Trustee" pop-up at your discretion. Set up a new method if asked (It will remember your Wise account!). - Note: I'm in the middle of the guide as I realize that the new feature between IBKR and Wise has streamlined the process. I'll have to adapt to this. Any issues, please remember to search on YouTube.
Ok, so let's pick up where we left. We were in "Deposit" and we will add a new deposit method. Scroll down, and you will find a specific section for wise transfers. Click on it and you'll be greeted with the option to open your Wise account. Give access to IBKR and just add your balance. The commissions will be taken cared of by the platform (which are discreetly low). Follow instructions. And you are done. Really looking back at it, this new feature might even open up the option to look up for more cuts in the way. Maybe PayPal is not needed anymore, since Wise is looking like a strong platform in of it self. Well, you live and you learn. I'll be wrapping this up since its looking a little bit like a wall of text. I'll leave you relieved by this new feature. - Commissions so far would have taken like 2 dollars, and even less with the new feature. Though this is subject to amounts transferred (%)
Direct Registration System (DRS) Final Step From where we left, we will need some shares to transfer. Go to the search bar top-center of the page and type "GME". Select GME, GameStop. Then click on "stock. Go for a buy order and set your quantity in Shares (the other option is dollars). I'm looking without results to use the Investors Exchange routing, but to no avail. Submit your buy order and wait for 2 days, 3 days tops for the buy to settle. It may be just one day. This done, go to Transfers and pay in the main page. select Transfer position. Select "Outgoing". Region will be United States and select " Deliver to transfer agent" or look for DRS in the explanation. Check your GME shares and follow instructions. Your GME shares should be inbound after this operation. - This operation has a $5 USD cost/commission.
- Total cost of Operation should be around 8 dollars subject to amount of the PayPal/Wise transfers.
I'm going to leave you with the DRSGME.ORG guide for a more concise and better formatted guide. But if you want to follow this steps, feel free to do so. https://www.drsgme.org/drs/direct-register-shares-from-interactive-brokers I hope it was of use more than anything. I'm happy to help, and to be here. Best regards to everyone. This doggo is not mine, but its kinda cute isn't it. submitted by Real_Aios_blaise to DRSyourGME [link] [comments] |

2023.05.27 23:23 sejiro7 LONG INFO, BUT GOOD READ (PT. 3)
HOW THESE STALKING AND HARASSMENT GROUPS COMMUNICATE
SIGNALS AND SYMBOLS
Communication happens in a number of ways. When on the street or in cars patrolling, they use baseball or Stasi like signals. These include things like tapping the side of the nose, corner of the eye, brushing back the hair 3 times, the infamous double blink, etc. Members of these Organized Stalking and Harassment groups will also communicate with each other on the street by using signals. Below are some examples.
SIGNALS FOR OBSERVATION
- Watch out! Subject is coming - touch nose with hand or handkerchief
- Subject is moving on, going further, or overtaking - stroke hair with hand, or raise hat briefly
- Subject standing still - lay one hand against back, or on stomach
- Observing Agent wishes to terminate observation because cover threatened - bend and retie shoelaces
- Subject returning - both hands against back, or on stomach
- Observing Agent wishes to speak with Team Leader or other Observing Agents - take out briefcase or equivalent and examine contents.
SLANDER
They will go behind the targets back and tell lies about them. Often the lies will consist of the target being into something illegal, or is someone dangerous, or just needs to be watched for some vague reason. Eg. The they will say the target is a prostitute, drug dealer, crazy, terrorist, racist, pedophile, etc.
SLEEP DEPRIVATION
Noise Harassment Campaigns Depriving the target of sleep is a really good way of leaving the target stressed out. It's also a way of leaving them disoriented and functioning at less than 100%. Then the targets can be baited into reacting in public, or getting into a car accident.
TELEPHONE REDIRECTS
When you make a telephone call, get the name and ID of the person that you are speaking to. Covert Investigations have redirected phone calls. This means that when you dial a number they will intercept that phone call and pretend to be the service or repair person you were trying to call. Eg. If you call the cable company, gas or phone company be sure you know that it's actually them that you are speaking to. Also remember that telephone companies and other businesses are often infiltrated by these Organized Gang Stalking and Harassment groups and can be used to harass and cause the targeted individual problems.
WRONG NUMBER CALLS
Targets will daily get wrong number calls. These can be automated or they can be persons pretending to be wrong number calls. Members of these groups will use this as a means to monitor and psychologically harass targets. They want to know where the target is at all times.
(VARIATIONS OF GANG STALKING)
CONSUMER STALKING
Consumer Stalking is harassment and abuse directed at a consumer who has either filed a complaint against a company, filed a lawsuit against a company, or who is made aware of illegal activity occurring within a company. Often companies will fund stalkers simply in an attempt to prevent the victim from filing a lawsuit, via using fear and intimidation tactics. Consumer Stalking can also be used to describe certain illegal activities of debt collectors.
CORPORATE STALKING
The term Corporate Stalking refers to a particularly severe form of Gang-Stalking, where a corporation actually provides funding toward the harassment and abuse of a targeted individual, usually someone who is a "whistle-blower", a perceived "problem employee", or else an employee who has witnessed illegal activity occurring within the corporation. The most sinister, and downright evil, tactic used during Corporate Stalking is forcing the victim to see the company psychologist. In most cases, the company psychologist is made aware that the victim is a "dissident" and a threat that needs to be eliminated. A false diagnosis of "general psychosis", "schizophrenia", or other mental illness is made, as well as a recommendation of institutionalization.

INTIMATE INFILTRATION
This is where members of these groups will go out of their way to get into a targets life. They will try to form friendships with targets. They will try to form intimate relationships with targets. They will get close to people that are affiliated with targets. Years before the target ever realizes they are targets they will try to get into a targets life. Eg. If they can't get into your life, but you have a best friend, their new significant other might just be a member of the group. The same goes for siblings and the people that enter their lives.
ISOLATION
For this harassment to be successful, it's important to be able to isolate the target from friends, family members, co-workers and even spouses if they are not already involved in the harassment. To accomplish this isolation many methods are used included, but not limited to: slander, lies, fake files, sabotage, anything that will get the target into a situation where they have no support system. This is important for them to succeed.
PROFILING
Targets will be observed and profiled long before they ever become aware that they are targeted by this sort of harassment. Profiles will be created on targets by: Following them. Following people close to them. Breaking into their homes and going through their stuff. Listening to their calls. Hacking into their computers. Gathering information from friends, and family. Seeing where they like to shop and eat. What are their weaknesses? What things do they like and dislike? What are their weaknesses? What things do they like and dislike? What can you bribe them with? What can you blackmail them with? How can you bully them? How can they best be controlled? This will all be used to put together a profile of the target and then to get them into situations for their detriment.
RANDOM ENCOUNTERS
This will be people on the street who you randomly and unexpectedly run into. It looks completely natural and it seems to be a random encounter. They might ask for your phone number after engaging you in conversation. Ask you out, or just ask you where you are going. Anything from small talk to lengthier conversations. All with the purpose of finding out something about you, or even just getting you to do something.
RUINED RELATIONSHIPS
When targets are in a relationship, the members of the Organized Gang Stalking group will try to ruin that relationship. This could be friendships, family or significant others. If it's a romantic relationship, they will find out what your significant other likes and try to get them to cheat, or leave you. If it's a friendship they will tell lies to come between you. The same goes for family. This is done so that targets will have no means of support, once they do realize that something is going wrong in their lives. When this Mobbing continues out in the community it is called Organized Stalking. Organized Stalking is Mobbing that takes place out in public. Deception using lies about the target appear to be the most common method used to get citizens to participate. Specifically, smear campaigns using bogus investigations. Furthermore, it is likely that they take advantage of existing federally sponsored mechanisms, such as community crime watch or community policing organizations, senior citizens organizations, & religious groups, & use them as unsuspecting instruments in their retaliation campaigns. Many people across the country have reported being harassed by these community groups. Some of these people they're using think they're doing a community service. This is a very well funded & organized service/cult that is apparently condoned or even run by the state. The perpetrators of Organized Gang Stalking are serious criminals who do great damage, and the acts done are very serious crimes by any measure. Organized Gang stalking is a highly criminal campaign, one directed at a target individual, and one that aims to destroy an innocent persons life through covert harassment's, malicious slander and carefully crafted and executed psychological assaults. Organized Gang Stalking deprives the targeted individual of their basic constitutional rights and destroys their freedom, setting a stage for the destruction of a person, socially, mental and physical, through a ceaseless assault that pervades all areas of a persons life.
ORGANIZED GANG STALKING ON FOOT TACTICS AND METHODS
following the target everywhere they go. Gathering information about the target. Where they shop, work, play, who their friends and family are. Getting close to the target, moving into the community or apartment where they live, across the street. Following the target. Mobbing or crowding the target in public restaurants or stores. Having Directed Conversations about the target, Standing close to the target. Engaging the target in trivial conversations. Intentionally Coughing at the target, Repeatedly clearing throat, Using Gestures around the target Intentional staring, glaring, pointing, or whispering at the target. Jangling keys, jangling change, Getting a target sensitized to sounds, colors, patterns, actions. Eg. Red, white, yellow, stripes, clicking pens, foot tapping. Noise Harassment and mimicking campaigns. Disrupting the targets life, sleep with loud power tools, construction, stereos, doors slamming, etc. Talking in public about private things in the targets life. Mimicking actions of the target. Basically letting the target know that they are in the targets life. Daily interference's, nothing that would be too overt to the untrained eye, but psychologically degrading and damaging to the target over time. Mass strangers doing things in public to annoy targets. These strangers might get text messaged to be at a specific time and place, and perform a specific action. If might seem harmless to these strangers, but it could be causing great psychological trauma for the target. Eg. Blocking targets path, getting ahead of them in line, cutting or boxing them in on the road, saying or doing things to elicit an angry response from targets. Etc.
ORGANIZED GANG STALKING VEHICLE TACTICS AND METHODS
Following a target around in vehicles, Tailgating the targets vehicle on the road, Driving or creeping by the targets home, 2 vehicles intentionally passing the other vehicle by or in front of the targets home repeatedly this is a type of Street Theater and psychological sensitization tactic that is intended to make the target appear crazy or mentally unstable if the target complains of this type of Harassment. Driving by the targets home revving engine loudly, Blowing horns by the targets home. Loud repeated door slamming. Loud stereo systems. Harassment by vehicles with loud or squeaky parts such as loud mufflers, squeaky fan belts or loud intentional squeaky brakes. Leaving loud vehicles or motorcycles idling around a targets home used as a form of Harassment. Pulling in on side streets by a targets home and setting or backing up, Pulling up in the targets driveway. Reversing vehicles in front of the targets home. Vehicles or groups that travel in cells the cells may use vehicle Color Harassment. Vehicle Color Harassment using many vehicles ‘cells’ of the same color to Harass and sensitize the target to a certain color, E.g. Sending or flooding the targets neighborhood with many white vehicles, this can be done subtly or all at once. For instance a target may notice 8 white vehicles within 5 minutes driving by his or her home, or may see one white vehicle one right after the other driving by his or her home, this Harassment and sensitization tactic can be done with any color. Vehicles driving by the targets home in Convoys. the Convoys may be of the same color or similar type vehicle. Members of the Stalking and Harassment group lined up in Convoys along a targets route. Positioning long lines of traffic in front of the target. Car accidents that may be staged or setup involving the target. Swarming or surrounding the targets vehicle on the road. Driving at slow speeds in front of the target. Vehicles With vanity plates that may mean something personal to the target that is used to convey messages and Harass the target while on the road. Psychological vehicle tactics such as Shining high beam head lights on the target. Vehicles with one head light on and the other headlight off. Vehicles with one head light that is brighter than the other head light. Vehicles with headlight that can be turned up into a "spotlight” to bright the target.
The crime of Organized Stalking is perpetrated against Targeted Victims for 2 reasons. Non Consensual Experimentation or for Revenge and Silencing purposes. Regardless of the motive, Organized Stalking is a crime!. Now that you are informed about it, please help to spread the word about it and awaken others!.

2023.05.27 22:13 LoansPayDayOnline Need $100 fast? These lower-cost loans can help.
| Half of Americans can't afford an unexpected expense, so what happens when they need a car repair or their job sends them home early for a week? For millions, the answer is often a high-cost payday loan that usually carries an exorbitant interest rate. [ LOANSANGEL - up to $5,000] But better options are now available after years of advocacy from consumer groups and new federal rules. Some large banks now offer small-dollar loans at rates far cheaper than payday loans. Since 2018, six banks — Bank of America, Huntington Bank, Regions Bank, Truist, U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo — let checking-account holders take out short-term loans of $10 to $5,000, making it more affordable to handle a financial emergency or make a purchase. "They require no travel to a branch and no waiting for an online lender to review an application and transmit the funds," the Pew Charitable Trusts wrote in a recent report. "Instead, customers complete short applications via the bank's website or mobile app [ LOANSANGEL], and the bank deposits the funds, usually within minutes, into the customer's existing checking account." The typical interest rate on such products, sometimes called installment loans, can rise as high as 18%. But that's less than the nearly 21% average annual percentage rate on credit cards today, and they're far more affordable than the short-term financing peddled to people with poor credit, such as payday, car title or pawn shop loans. Compared with such options, a small bank loan is about 5 times cheaper, Alex Horowitz, who leads Pew's consumer finance research and authored the lending report, told CBS MoneyWatch. Payday loan math: $1,000 loan over a 12-month term would have a total cost, including interest, a total payback amount of $1,134.72. APR 29.82%. Rates between 5.99% APR and 35.99% APR for qualified customers. Loan term lengths from 3 to 36 months for qualified consumers. Some states have moved to regulate these loans, with 18 states capping APRs at 36% or less, according to the Center for Responsible Lending. It doesn't take a financial disaster to push people into borrowing. In a 2022 survey, the vast majority of borrowers said they used a payday loan for everyday expenses, such as food, rent or utility bills. Just 16% said they had an emergency expense, and 8% said they used the loan for "something special." \"A lot of Americans don't have much margin for error and need a little help when they get fewer hours at work in a week or have an unexpected expense,\" Horowitz said. Payday loans have one major benefit: They're a fast way to get money if you're desperate. Until recently, banks generally shied away from offering small-dollar loans. It wasn't clear that it was legal for banks to lend without pulling a credit report, the cost of which outweighed the potential profitability of lending a small amount of money to a financially strapped customer. But after guidance from financial regulators in 2020, some banks started offering these products, which rely heavily on automation and a customer's checking account history. Examining how often a customer makes deposits and withdrawals is often a better indicator of whether they can repay a few hundred dollars than a traditional credit report, Horowitz said. Because the process is so automated, there's no way to ask for one, Horowitz noted — a person logs into their bank account, and if they're eligible to ask for a loan they'll see the option. "Banks want to show these loans to people who qualify for them, not people who don't," he said. Some credit unions offer a similar product called a Payday Alternative Loan. Still, Horowitz said that tens of millions of Americans lack options for affordable borrowing in a pinch, and Pew is pushing for more banks to offer this option. LoansAngel makes possible to request such financial services as personal, installment and payday loans with a single application form. Such solution will help to find more options for your clients. Loan amounts may vary from $100 to $5,000. submitted by LoansPayDayOnline to LoansPaydayOnline [link] [comments] |

2023.05.27 20:45 MekhaDuk Analysis: Is the Nagorno-Karabakh problem getting a permanent solution?

So, is the Nagorno-Karabakh problem getting a permanent solution? Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated that they are ready to recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh region as a part of Azerbaijan, provided that Baku ensures the security of the Armenian population. According to Reuters' TASS agency, Pashinyan said, "We are ready to recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh region as a part of Azerbaijan, provided that Baku ensures the security of the Armenian population." President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that "Although Armenia occupied the Azerbaijani lands for 30 years and caused destruction in the region, they thought that signing a peace agreement with the Yerevan government was inevitable and they made efforts for this." Aliyev met with President Gitanas Nauseda regarding his Lithuanian contacts. At the joint press conference held as a result of the meeting, Aliyev made evaluations about the negotiations for a peace agreement with Armenia. “We hope that the negotiations will bring long-term peace to the Caucasus. He believes that the signing of a peace agreement is inevitable, although the Azerbaijani lands have been under the occupation of Armenia for about 30 years, 1 million Azerbaijanis have left their lands due to the occupation, all the infrastructure in the occupied lands has been destroyed by the invaders, and will continue to make constructive efforts to achieve this goal. we are working on,” he said. https://preview.redd.it/a4j1gzq5ng2b1.jpg?width=1670&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7786925ffdbdbe1c49ef704e6a2f911cbe61f5f9 Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met in Brussels, accompanied by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. Negotiations have been held for a while between the two countries for the problems of the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The Yerevan government announced on Friday that a soldier was killed by the Azerbaijani army and two soldiers were wounded. On the other hand, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced that there was a clash with the Armenian army on the border on Thursday and an Azerbaijani soldier was killed. The Zangezur Corridor conflict between the two countries; It came to the fore again on April 23, when Baku announced that it would establish the first road checkpoint at the entrance of the Lachin corridor, which is the only route connecting Armenia to the separatist region. CELEBRITY AGREEMENT WAS SIGNED The clashes that started in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 27, 2020, ended with the ceasefire agreement signed on November 9, 2020. After the agreement signed between Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, the conflicts were ended as of 10 November 2020 and the parties maintained their positions. With the agreement, Azerbaijan took control of the areas it was advancing in Nagorno-Karabakh, and had accepted Armenia's request to withdraw from seven regions. Russia, on the other hand, had reached the military power it wanted to reach for 28 years in Nagorno-Karabakh and took control of the new strategic corridors. Announcing to BBC Turkish that the issues related to the status of Nagorno-Karabakh will be determined, Russian Ambassador Erkhov said that the requirements of the agreement signed on 9 November were fulfilled at the first stage. Erkhov said, "For the time being, the peacekeeping force of the Russian Federation is deployed to the contact line in Nagorno-Karabakh and the corridor connecting it to Armenia." https://preview.redd.it/4su2a9ldng2b1.jpg?width=1946&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e793d4d5e1067780204f2be101cd70a1223c2b4c THE NEW AGENDA OF THE CAUCASIA: ZENGEZUR CORRIDOR The state, located in the southernmost part of Armenia, is called Syunik. In Azerbaijan, this region is called Zangezur. There is Azerbaijan on the east side of this region, Iran on the south side, and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on the west side. The Zangezur Corridor project is the name of the project that aims to connect Azerbaijan directly to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic by road and railway transportation. When we look at it from a wider perspective, it can be said that the project directly connects Azerbaijan to Turkey. According to article 9 of the ceasefire agreement signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2020, in which Russia took part as a mediator; It was planned to open transportation routes between Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and Azerbaijan. In this article, “All economy and transportation links in the region will be opened. Republic of Armenia; guarantees the safety of transport links between the western regions of the Azerbaijan Republic and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in order to organize the unhindered movement of people, vehicles and goods in both directions. https://preview.redd.it/7z5wf8ijng2b1.jpg?width=1100&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fd414e28d616c0902536305cbbca0288113f96c ARMENIA IS AGAINST, IRAN IS CONCERNED Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in an interview with TV channel Al Jazeraa in the previous months, said, "The so-called corridor is unacceptable for us and is a red line for us because according to the tripartite agreement, there is only one corridor in our region and that is the Lachin corridor." In a statement he made later, Pashinyan said, “Azerbaijan is talking about a corridor. However, I would like to say clearly that we will not give anyone a corridor through Armenian lands. But we will suggest a way, we will make a way, and we are ready to do it at any time. We have presented these offers to Azerbaijan, as soon as Azerbaijan accepts, we will be able to implement this agreement quickly," he said. Tehran, on the other hand, said that they were concerned about the Zangezur project due to Azerbaijan's stance. Academic Hakan Güneş, while commenting on Iran's concern, drew attention to the issue of "possible rising nationalism" and said: “Iran's discomfort is basically the further strengthening of Azerbaijan. Iran is very concerned about the nationalist rise of Iranian Azeris, who form a significant population in its north. He is also concerned about the increase in Turkey's power in the Caucasus. Also, because Armenia is under a blockade, it has a lot of economic dependence on Iran, although not in large numbers. But these are the details, Iran's main concern is nationalism." https://preview.redd.it/qsn3p2lqng2b1.jpg?width=1024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f5a520751efefca5f308153aaddda78262bfee0a RUSSIA, Türkiye AND AZERBAIJAN SUPPORT Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, in an interview with a state-owned TV channel in 2021, said, “The creation of the Zangezur Corridor fully coincides with our national, historical and future interests. We will implement the Zangezur Corridor whether Armenia wants it or not. If Armenia wants, we will solve this issue more easily, if not, we will solve it by force,” he said. Emphasizing that Azerbaijan is insistent on this issue, Aliyev said, “40 percent of the railway and 70 percent of the highway have been completed in the part of the Zangezur Corridor passing through Azerbaijan. The works will be completed in 2024 and ultimately a new shipping corridor will be created.” With the ŞUŞA Declaration signed by Turkey and Azerbaijan on July 15, the project seems to have become official for both sides. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a statement during his visit to Azerbaijan last year, “The land and railway lines that will pass through this geography will create economic and commercial opportunities not only for Azerbaijan and Turkey, but also for all countries in the region. One day we will be able to leave Zengezur and go to Istanbul, we will be able to go to Iğdır and Kars, and the location of the region as a transit logistics center will be riveted. All neighbors of Azerbaijan, including Iran, Georgia and Armenia, will benefit from this development," he said. 2023.05.27 20:38 Ashamed_Run_7863 Explanation of the 5 Levels of Instigation and Their Causes (Must be Approved by the Central Committee of the soviet representing the workplace as the vanguard of the workers at the facility.):
The use of instigations within the proposed workers' council Marxist-Leninist structure aims to empower workers and ensure their active participation in decision-making processes. Each level of instigation is achieved through a combination of democratic engagement, collective action, and the approval of the members. Here's a breakdown of how each level can be utilized and achieved within this structure:
- Level 1 Instigation: Minor Grievances and Concerns At this level, workers can initiate instigations to address minor grievances and concerns. These could be raised through discussions within the soviets at individual workplaces. Workers can bring forward issues such as work environment, scheduling conflicts, or interpersonal disputes. The soviets discuss these concerns, gather feedback from workers, and propose potential solutions. The approval of a Level 1 instigation is achieved through a democratic vote within the respective soviet, ensuring majority support and consensus.
- Level 2 Instigation: Systemic Issues and Policy Changes Level 2 instigation tackles broader systemic issues and proposes policy changes that affect a significant number of workers. These instigations are brought forward through the soviets, where workers engage in extensive discussions, research, and analysis. The soviets work collectively to identify areas of improvement, propose policy changes, and develop comprehensive strategies. The approval of a Level 2 instigation requires a vote within each respective soviet. Once approved, the proposal is brought to the federal soviet for further discussion and potential implementation.
- Level 3 Instigation: Collective Bargaining and Negotiations Level 3 instigation involves collective bargaining and negotiations with management or relevant stakeholders. The soviets, representing the workers' interests, engage in dialogue with the respective management bodies. They present demands, negotiate terms and conditions, and work towards fair agreements. The approval of a Level 3 instigation requires the support of the soviets involved in the bargaining process. The federal soviet may provide guidance, resources, and solidarity to facilitate successful negotiations and ensure workers' demands are met.
- Level 4 Instigation: Major Disputes and Conflict Resolution Level 4 instigation focuses on resolving major disputes within the organization. In cases where conflicts arise, the affected soviets collaborate to seek resolutions. They employ various conflict resolution methods such as mediation, arbitration, or open discussions with relevant parties. The approval of a Level 4 instigation involves the consensus of the affected soviets, with the federal soviet facilitating the resolution process, offering support, and advocating for the best interests of the workers involved.
- Level 5 Instigation: Fundamental Organizational Transformation Level 5 instigation aims for fundamental organizational transformation. These instigations address deep-rooted issues, advocating for comprehensive changes within the unionized businesses. The soviets engage in extensive discussions, conduct research, and propose transformative measures. Achieving Level 5 instigation requires the support and approval of all soviets involved in the confederation. The federal soviet plays a crucial role in coordinating these efforts, ensuring alignment among the various soviets and facilitating the implementation of transformative changes.
Throughout the process, transparency, accountability, and democratic decision-making are fundamental. The workers' council Marxist-Leninist structure encourages active participation, open discussions, and consensus-building among workers at different levels. By engaging in this process, workers can exercise their agency, promote their interests collectively, and shape the direction of their union.

2023.05.27 19:49 Aurelius_Red TIMELINES Ver. 1.9
🐈⬛ Another Eden Timelines (ver. 1.9) I BEG YOU, KIND FELLOW AE FAN, PLEASE DO NOT POST SPOILERS IN THE COMMENTSBy that I mean any plot points or lore beyond the stuff prior to The Goddess of Time content
UPDATE NOTE: This is the final version of the
pre-2.0 update, which I'm told will turn my mind to mush. Here, numerous grammar corrections can be found, and I deleted some unnecessary snark.
In version 1.9, I so far have the lore and events from
The Cat Beyond Time and Space (ver. 1.0),
The Ogre Wars, Episode:
The Celestial Tower and the Shadow Witch (lore only as it pertains to Palsifal and Cyrus) and the necessary Episode:
The Closed-off Open World and the Azure Rebel.
I have
not included the other necessary Episode
Two Knights and the Holy Sword since it doesn't
seem important to the Main story. (Sorry, Deirdre and Annabel, but brief cameos in
The Ogre Wars don't count for much.) If it ends up being important to ver. 2.0's plot, I'll add it in the next update. Episodes like the IDA ones and the Ocean Palace stuff have been omitted for similar reasons. Again, if they turn out to be important, I'll add them.
Well, enjoy.
————— ORIGINAL timeline —————
- In the beginning, the primal forces of Order and Chaos fought. (That old chestnut.) The resulting Dimensional Vortex dispersed Chaos throughout the universe, while Order coalesced into matter, I guess. Chaos, in some sense, is still pissed about things ending up less than chaotic, apparently. (Another old chestnut.)
- In a time before written history, Titans rule the world. They create a mystical sword out of mystical rock, as people are wont to do. (It eventually winds up in the hands of a human, King Parsifal.)
---
- ~ 20,000 y.a., Antiquity consisted of various human tribes getting along just fine — which is how you know this is fiction — and the planet’s power came from the four Elementals: Salamander (fire) Sylph (wind) Gnome (earth) and Undine (water). [Note: If there had been a “heart” elemental, they could have summoned Captain Planet.]
- At some point, they must have expired, scattering Prisma: shards of their corpses which contain fragments of their power. [The reason for this would be altered to be the Elementals sacrificing themselves to stop Phantom.] The four Elemental Arms are also created from their leftover energy.
- King Palsifal declares war on another nation, or else they declare war on his nation first. During the course of the war, a guardian of the forest, is killed. This drives his wife, formerly the Green Witch, Reptires, mad with grief. She becomes the Dark Witch, being taken over by the malevolent spirit of the Shadow Witch.
- Reptires, holding a grudge against King Palsifal, slays his wife and son. His grief is immense. Failing to stop the royal family's doom, Cyrus - a royal retainer from the East - is defeated and cursed with the form of a frog.
---
- Over thousands of years, it seems likely that some humans grew closer to nature - growing to resemble beasts (beastfolk) - while others used Prisma to build modern civilization to mimic the cities they’d known prior to the Elementals’ destruction. This caused considerable friction between the humans and beastfolk, the former valuing the power of Prisma and the latter having some innate elemental power.
---
- ~ 3,000 years before the present, the Ogre Clans - led by Zennon atop Ogre Spike - and the Thunder King make war. The war may well have started when the Thunder King "stole Zennon's girl," Feiona (which I take to mean either Zennon's wife or daughter). Together, they have a son, Alfaldo. (Methinks I know where Feinne and Aldo's respective names derive from.) At some point, Feiona passes away.
- During the course of the war, Alfaldo is slain by the ogre clan. The Thunder King kills Zennon with Palsifal's holy blade. In this moment, the collective rage of the ogres slain that day attach themselves to the king’s sword, possessing it - transforming it into the cursed blade Ogre Rancorem.
- At some point after the war, Ogre Rancorem was placed at the base of the World Tree, turning it into a malevolent plant, for some reason. In response, people build the Dogma Tower was built to prevent the tree from growing above ground and spreading evil.
---
- 1 AD, the Kingdom of Miglance is founded, apparently beginning the current calendar. Seven kings into the family's reign, we reach the Present Day.
---
- 300 AD, the Present. I suppose Aldo and Fienne were not originally a part of this era’s original timeline. [In the updated timeline, obviously, The Player Timeline goes down when the Beast King makes off with Feinne.] However, come to think of it, the cat - Sorik - that would be Kyros did wander into an inexplicable portal from that time period. (I guess that really kicked everything time-altering off. Whether that event is part of the Original Timeline, I guess is up to interpretation.)
---
- ~700 AD, Prisma in general began to noticeably lose power. So, Xeno Prisma was invented 400 years before the Future era. Therefore, it would have been around 700 AD.
- The surface of the planet, now absent working Prisma, loses the ability to sustain enough energy to support civilization, becoming inhospitable for human beings. (What became of the Beastfolk is difficult to say, but it’s hard to imagine they weathered the change well, tied to nature as they were.) Luckily, with Xeno Prisma, humans figure out how to lift islands into the sky. They subsist there amidst the clouds, with increasingly futuristic technology, for about four centuries.
- Xeno Prisma works well for about four centuries, but its synthetic nature meant it was a solution with an end date. And the end date would result in the destruction of all space and time: the Timequake.
---
- 1100 AD, Geo Prisma, the proposed solution Professor Chronos devised to prevent inherent time-quake set to materialize from Xeno Prisma’s destruction, was invented.
- At some point, Chronos created the Synth Humans as well. He created two prototypes, Galliard and Helena, formerly human lovers. Their memories are wiped in the process.
- Chronos married Professor Madoka and had two children, Eden (EE-den) and Cecile (siss-EEL). Sorik the Cat inexplicably arrived via a wormhole from 300 AD. Chronos names it Kyros and it forms a bond with the family as its pet.
- Eden, and years later, his newborn sister, Cecile, are implanted with Alpha Geo, bits of a prototype of Geo Prisma. Cecile’s bit is developed three years after Eden’s, and is seen as an improvement.
- Despite the professor’s best efforts, the Geo Prisma doesn’t work as planned, and a time warp occurs, (though at least it wasn’t the bigger, universe-ending type). Chronos, his wife, his two children, and his cat are thrown across time and space. (I may be imagining this, but I could have sworn Chronos would later say that the time warp in question was initiated on purpose so that Chronos could go back 20,000 years to study the Elementals directly.)
- If one imagines the original timeline going on after the Chronos family time warp, it must not have lasted too much longer as the Xeno Prisma would have shortly failed and destroyed everything. If not, the timeline ends after the Chronos family exit via the time warp. I suppose it doesn't matter for our purposes.
[NOTE: Sorik's time-hopping may well have not have been part of the original timeline. But even so, I can't see how the subsequent timelines would have been spawned without Sorik/Kyros ending up in the final portal.]

————— NEW Timeline —————
The events prior to player control follow. I will clearly mark when the player's journey begins.
- Chronos lands in Antiquity, and there sets about his plan to destroy the future timeline in order to prevent the destruction of all space and time. (His wife, Madoka, I don’t know - I think we’re to assume she died, but I highly doubt that.)
- Eden saved Cecile and Kyros, somehow, during the time warp, dooming himself to 16 years of isolation. During that time, he was transformed by chaos (I think) into an evil titan monster: Chronos Menas. You know how it is.
FIRST CUTSCENE:
- Cecile and Kyros together arrive in 284 AD, in the Moonlight Forest, and taken in by the Mayor acting as their grandfather — but not before Cecile turns Kyros into a human who resembles her brother, using the power to the Alpha Geo imbeded in her. In doing so, Kyros loses his cat memory, because as every alchemist knows, creation can only come from sacrifice. The Mayor names the boy who resembles Eden “Aldo” and Cecile “Fienne”. (AHL-do and FEE-nay.)
---
- A few years later, when Fienne is a young girl, she was picking mushrooms in the forest and met Altena - part of the beastfolk royal family - who had sprained her ankle. Feinne healed it with her Alpha Geo powers, and she and Altena become fast friends. Only later, after Aldo had to break up a confrontation between them and some village bullies, are they told to not see one another anymore.
- At some point prior to 300 AD, a young Aldo comes into possession of the corrupted sword Ogre Rancorem. The details are sparse, but apparently the beast within harbors some special hatred for Aldo. Rancorem, unhappy that an alternate version of the holy sword it inhabits exists in this same timeline, decides to play the long game and someday use Aldo to bring Zennon and the other ogres, along with the Thunder King, into this timeline. Why? To make it that the holy sword is destroyed, and, in the process, to have its revenge against the Thunder King.

{GAMEPLAY BEGINS}
This is the updated timeline, which is to say the series of events from the perspective of Aldo, time-hopping as he does. In other words, from here on, I’m writing about the sequence of events that follows the game’s events as one plays through them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Part 1: The Cat Beyond Time and Space
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- It’s 300 AD and Aldo (formerly the cat Sorik/Kyros, now physically an Eden clone) is a guard of the town of Baruoki in the Kingdom of Miglance. Somehow, he has come into possession of Ogre Rancorem, and even though he’s unable to unsheathe it, he takes it with him everywhere. “Cecile,” now going by “Feinne,” doesn’t remember anything from the original timeline, either, owing to her having been an infant during the time hop. Feinne’s role in society is to collect mushrooms and make Aldo lunch.
- Their cat, Varuo, wanders into a random portal (much as Sorik did in the Original Timeline). Aldo follows, meeting the Dream Master at the Gallery of Dreams. He takes this all in stride, considering what a massive discovery it is.
- The Beast King, Guildna, and his henchman, Vares, barge into the Mayor’s house and kidnap Feinne in order to use her dormant power to rule the world. (Somehow! The Mayor is the most powerful fighter in the game! He trains Aldo, afterward! How is no one finding this odd?) Vares breaks some poor guy’s neck during the course of all this, but I guess no one knew the guy because no one mentions him ever again.
- Giving chase, Aldo is easily defeated by Guildna. Needing Aldo alive, Ogre Rancorem awakens in order to defend him. While it is not enough to win outright against Guildna - despite going of far as to awaken the Another Force power - the Beast King spares Aldo “in deference” to Ogre Rancorem.
- After his grandfather, the most powerful character in the game (Hello?), teaches him some fighting techniques, Aldo is accosted by Vares in the Moonlight Forest. Though Aldo wins the duel, Vares summons a couple chimera to hunt him down. Mysteriously, before the monsters can attack Aldo, a portal appears just in time to transport him to safety.
…800 years later….
- Prior to Aldo’s arrival in Elzion, things proceed much as they did in the Original Timeline. As a reminder: the Prisma lose their power, the earth spoils, Xeno Prisma is invented and allows humans to exist on floating islands, then Xeno Prisma begins to dangerously lose power around 1100 AD. Professor Chronos and his wife, Professor Madoka, begin to construct Geo Prisma to counteract Xeno Prisma’s world-ending destruction, they put Alpha Geo bits into their children Eden and Cecile, and the whole family - including their cat, Kyros - is sucked into a dimensional vortex.
- After the disappearance of the Chronos family, the Synth Humans, apparently discriminated against and mistreated by regular human meatbags, violently revolt, led by Galliard. Initially, he only targets the human military, and only enough to attempt to force peace talks.
- The Rebellion Circuits - implanted in many Synth Humans by the mysterious Cardinal Vestige - activate and drive Synths mad with rage for humanity. The Cardinal Vestige, a clandestine group with the goal of humanity's survival no matter the cost, initiated the rebellion so that humanity would fight with Synth Humans instead of fighting amongst themselves (as humans are wont to do).
- Though Helena and Galliard were not implanted with Rebellion Circuits, the latter decides to not abandon his chipped comrades. (Galliard and Helena seem to be aware of the inevitable timequake that will occur when Xeno Prisma fails, and perhaps also fight to prevent this, but I'm unsure on that point.)
- Around this time, before or after the rebellion begins, the Administrator is chosen to lead Elzion by a quantum computer.
- During a Synth Human raid in 1090, Amy's mother is killed. Amy, a blacksmith's daughter and bad cook, swears revenge. She eventually becomes the star fighter for humanity.
- In 1100 AD Elzion, Aldo - arriving out of the wormhole from 300 AD - meets both Amy and KMS android Riica. With help from Amy's brilliant friend Sebastia, the granddaughter of KMS's chairman, they go on to defeat the leader of the Synth Humans, Galliard. Helena mourns his death, but chooses not to fight the party, desiring as she always has a peaceful co-existence with humans.
[Side note: Amy, while speaking of her late mother inside Sebastia’s house, says that someday she’d help bring an end to suffering in the world, thereby creating, quote, “another Eden.” We’re meant to take that as the origin of the game’s title. But it is actually a red herring, as Aldo is revealed to be a clone of his former friend Eden, and therefore in a literal sense “
Another Eden.”]
- The future timeline is suddenly erased, along with Amy and everyone else. As Aldo gazes across the ruins of humanity, the Phantom appears and tells him that it’s essential that Aldo travel far back in time to stop someone from accomplishing this destruction. Aldo agrees to do so, and enters the portal that the Phantom generates for him. Little does Aldo know, the Phantom is an agent of Chaos, and they want the deteriorating Xeno Prisma to destroy all of time and space.
- Professor Chronos, working in Antiquity, is the one who has built a quantum computer in order to erase the Future Timeline, thereby preventing the Xeno Prisma from blowing up… at the small cost of the existence of countless thousands of people.
…in Antiquity….
- Aldo and Riica wind up in Antiquity, about 20,000 years ago, and dispel a black miasma controlling the elemental Salamander. The elemental tells the pair that he senses a darkness coming from Palsifal Castle.
- Indeed, the king has lost his wits, having been led astray by the Oracle/Chronos. To reiterate: the professor is working to erase the future in which Xeno Prisma destroys all of space and time. “Difficult problems call for difficult solutions” type, he is.
- King Palsifal won’t hear Aldo out because he wants his wife and kid back, and most likely wants to change the timeline to prevent their untimely deaths at the hand of the crazed witch. He teleports Aldo and Riica to a swamp, where they meet Frog Cyrus, the former human royal retainer who has been transformed an amphibian by the aforementioned witch. He joins the party in order to try and make the king see reason.
- The three head to the Tower of Time, an invention of the Oracle/Chronos, and find it is both a synthetic living organism and the quantum computer mentioned earlier. (“Visus,” it’s called, for some reason.)
- They permanently shut the computer down, ruining the Oracle’s schemes and restoring the Future. The Phantom then reappears and thanks Aldo making things so that the Xeno Prisma can eventually destroy all of time and space, which shocks the party. He also calls Aldo “kit of Chronos,” which everyone takes as the Phantom saying that Aldo is Chronos’s actual kid; the Phantom is in fact being literal and saying the short form of the word “kitten.”
- The Phantom generates another portal, transporting Aldo, Riica, and Cyrus to parts - and times - unknown.
…in the Spacetime Rift….
- The party arrive at the Spacetime Rift - specifically, Time’s Forgotten Stop - and meet Master, a mysterious bartender who speaks in riddles, both claiming to know and not know Aldo. He informs them about the pillars of light, effectively portals themselves, and the party use one to travel back to the Present, 300 AD.
…in the Present….
- King Miglance tells them that his father (the previous king) and Aldo’s grandfather had “valor” when they were young, confusing Aldo, but the topic quickly becomes that of the invading beastfolk army.
- The party volunteers to take a break from trying to prevent the destruction of all space and time to help guard Miglance. On the way to destroy a scouting party, Aldo and company instead meet Mobecha and Pepori, beast friends of Feinne. They warn Aldo about Ogre Rancorem’s true nature, and the party repels its attack. The Ogre agrees to obey Aldo and reverts back to sword form, which it claims is now at full power for Aldo to command. Not for the last time, everyone is pretty forgiving of the sword trying to kill them, possibly because Another Force is too valuable to give up.
- As the beast army attacks Miglance, the party catches up with Guildna, cornering the Beast King atop the castle. Amy fortuitously arrives to help, having been restored thanks to the party’s adventures in Antiquity. After finally defeating the Beast King, he seems to die. (He disappears in green light, suggesting Alpha Geo interference.). The party then goes, as Aldo says, “back to the future” (™️) to find Professor Chronos.
…in the Future….
- Sebastia, a gifted friend of Amy’s, reveals that she knows the Administrator, and is able to secure an audience for the party. The Administrator grants them access to the Xeno-Domain research structure through the Babel Elevator. There, they view a hologram recording left by Chronos and Madoka intended for one, or both, of their children. Since Aldo is effectively a clone of Eden’s, the recording is triggered anyway. (Kyros, in cat form, can also be seen in the picture if you look closely.)
- Upon reaching the Xeno and Geo cores, the Xeno Prototype orb begins to somewhat malfunction. While it is not yet bad enough to trigger the timequake that would end all time and space, it’s bad enough to open three red portals to the Corridor of Time Layer, connecting Antiquity, the Present, and the Future. Professor Chronos appears (somehow!) and asks Aldo - the person he believes to be his son - to travel into the Corridor and use his Alpha Geo to dissipate the timequake. Too bad Aldo has no Alpha Geo within him, as he is not actually Eden.
- The party almost stops the destruction, too, those meddling kids. But the Phantom appears and demonstrates how he’ll just use a spare floating island to create the quake with the tremendous force of its impact.
…in Antiquity….
- The island, transported through time, arrives in Antiquity, but the Four Elementals sacrifice themselves to destroy it, sending pieces of their corpses flying around the world, falling at random. This, in the updated, current timeline, is the reason why Prisma is dispersed across the world.
- However, the Phantom can claim a partial victory, as all this only delayed the destruction of time and space. A Dimensional Vortex forms, and it is only a matter of time before it sends everything into oblivion.
…in the Future….
- Having been time-warped to the Future, 5 days pass there, and Aldo stands on a beach like a moody teen, being all defeatist and mopey. Then the Gallery Master shows up and gives him a pep talk, Aldo acting as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. Aldo then promptly finds Riica, Amy, and Cyrus and joins them once more.
- They reach the Synth Hydra Riftbreaker airship, newly created by the Synth Humans with leftover Chronos tech, which travels through time. The party is unable to enter it, however.
- Helena, though nominally a pacifist, joins the party. (She fights them first, making an exception due to lingering resentment over Galliard's death, I guess.) She aids them in gaining entrance to the airship.
- Together, they convince the other Synth Humans to join humanity’s cause. (They do this by using the effective, time-tested strategy of beating the shit out of one’s enemies until they see things your way.)
…in Antiquity….
- The gang meets with the Oracle/Chronos who takes them to the Tower of Stars. There, he reveals that he and his family had entered the portal willingly, in an effort to go back to Antiquity to study the Elementals in order to find a solution to the timequake. But a gust of time-wind (time weather is a thing, it seems) arrived en route and blew the family their separate ways.
- However, Chronos just now managed to complete the fruits of his labors: the Geo Metal. The professor’s face was scarred from years of radioactive exposure, and after King Palsifal deals him a fatal blow, he and Aldo get a Vader-Luke moment as he asks his mask to taken off one last time. Also, Palsifal, defeated by the party, dies. (No one seems to care; Cyrus doesn't react, that I recall. Odd.)
- Aldo then receives the Primeval Gem, which is made of remnants of Order or something, and it’s effective against Chaos. But since the Synth Hydra needs time to power it up, and Vares randomly somehow arrives on the airship somehow and invites Aldo to come die trying to rescue his sister (lol ok), they decide to go rescue her.
…in the Present….
- At the Beast King’s Castle, after the party arrive in the throne room, Feinne unintentionally starts freaking out due to her Geo Prisma power by collecting the the energy of other worlds. Geo Angurius forms from a union of Feinne and Altena, calling itself the perfect fusion of Geo Prisma and Elemental. But the party mortally wound it, and Altena decides to let Feinne go so that Feinne, at least, can survive. Altena then “dies” the same way as her brother, in a green light, suggesting Feinne’s Alpha Geo powers somehow preserves her.
…in Antiquity….
- Using the Primeval Gem’s power to fuel a cannon blast from the airship, the gang punches a hole through the Dimensional Vortex. The ship can’t quite make it all the way, so the party travels to its core on foot.
- There, they meet Phantom once again, and defeat him (?) in battle. However, the Phantom survives and reveals Chronos Menas, a titan monster who is extremely angsty and made of dark flesh and fire. This gigantic monster uses the Alpha Geo power. But how can that be? His real identity is revealed to be: Eden! (If you’ve been reading all of this from the beginning, you knew that, but remember the first time you found out? Wow!)
- It is revealed that Eden made sure to save his sister (Cecile/Feinne) and his cat (Sorik/Kyros/later Aldo) from the time-wind gust 16 years ago. While his sister and cat ended up in the Present, he was stuck in Chronos’ Umbra - the heart of the Dimensional Vortex - for these past 16 years. There, in the darkness of the abyss, he was driven mad. His imperfect Alpha Geo was further warped in the void, becoming, basically, Chaos.
- Aldo accepts his cat origins fairly quickly, compared to how I would have taken the news. (Side note: if one goes back and watches the game’s initial cutscene, one can - barely! - see Kyros in the bushes behind Cecile’s baby basket. The clues were there the entire time! It is revealed Aldo is both “Another” version of Eden and the titular Cat Beyond Time and Space!)
- The gang rush in and battle Eden, all the while trying to get him to see reason. Eventually, only Aldo (Kyros), Feinne (Cecile), and Eden remain facing each other. Through the power of love and remembrance - and Aldo transforming back into a cat and running full force into Eden - they are able to bring Eden back to his senses. He tells his sister it’s time to give up their Geo Prisma powers, and in doing so they deus ex machina everything back to normal. Also, however, is nowhere to be found. (I wonder where Kyros is now, though,” wonders Amy. “Did he merge with Eden, or what?”)
- In a green flash (Geo Prisma power, seems - Eden’s will, in this case?), Kyros reappears inside the Mayor’s house. He then transforms into Aldo (perhaps also via Eden’s wishes). He and the others to resolve to look for Eden.
So ends the first part of the game, Version 1.0,
The Cat Beyond Time and Space.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
~ OGRE WARS (ver. 1.5)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- In 300 AD, after the events of the The Cat Beyond Time and Space, the game devotes itself to something so important that it gets its own version number - 1.5 - but so unimportant that it doesn't amount to version 2.0 ... The Ogre Wars! [Note: I'm told this is because the events were initially to be included in 1.0, but it was decided that would have made The Cat Beyond Time and Space too bloated. I concur.]
- The Mayor tells our heroes (as a refresher: Aldo, Feinne, Amy, Riica, and Helena) that there are rumors of the site of an ancient battle, where eerie screams are heard. The group decide to investigate to see if they can locate clues as to the fate of Eden, Guildna, and/or Altena, all of whom met their supposed ends involved in some ways with Geo Prisma.
- Sure enough, both Altena and Guildna are revived via Feinne's Geo Prisma. Finding it awkward to have a deutero-antagonist with the blood of thousands of people on his hands joining the party, Geo Prisma brings back Guildna in his young adult form - the Guildna that existed at the start of the game’s very first cutscene, in fact. So, prior to his having committing acts of atrocity. (Geo Prisma likely running the same software that turns cats into clones of humans.) It yanks him out of the original timeline just before he meets the infant Feinne. Guildna meets his (now older) sister on Snake Bone Island.
- Ogre Rancorem temporarily frees itself of Aldo's control and opens up a massive portal in the sky. Out descends the Ogres Spike, transported there from about 3000 years ago, prior to the defeat of the Ogres. With them, the human Thunder King and his soldiers, as well - wielding his own version of Palsifal's holy blade. Ogre King Zennon reveals himself, too, though he retreats with his minions. Lastly, Ogres Spike is encased in an impenetrable shield.
- Beneath Miglance Castle, the Mirror (mirror on the wall, as it literally is) recounts the story of Ogre Rancorem possessing the sword of Palsifal around 3,000 years prior... adding the detail that the sword was created out an ancient magical stone by Titans, long vanished from this world. (Weirdly, the king of Miglance has the original, uncorrupted Palsifal blade, despite being from the same timeline when it was transformed into Ogre Rancorem.) The Mirror then tells of the Elemental Arms, ancient weapons connected to the Four Elementals from Antiquity, saying the Ogres had sought them out.
- The party is informed that a huge black-winged monster has been seen on Snake Bone Island. Traveling there, they reunite with Altena and the younger, reformed Guildna, and everyone puts their... edited pasts aside. They also reunited with Vares - revealed to be a smaller, kinder blue dude - and meet his twin sister, Myra. (It appears that the fact Vares snapped an innocent Baruoki man’s neck in Chapter 1 has been forgiven and/or forgotten.)
- Guildna asks Aldo and friends to accompany him to find the island's Genesis Dragon God to acquire a power-up, and they agree. They stop by the former Beast King's castle for a mandatory side quest, and afterward finally arrival at the Dragon God's heart. There, the god's vassal appears and is initially skeptical that Aldo is pure enough to save the world when he wields an evil blade. Aldo proves how pure he is by violently beating the vassal, and is given the power to increase his strength many-fold if he can collect an absurd amount of items by farming dungeons.
- Zennon kidnaps Altena. He tells our heroes to bring him the four Elemental Arms in exchange for her life. (One of these being Guildna's Crimson Blade.) This ends Part 1 of Part 1.5, if you're keeping track.
- Part 2 of Part 1.5 begins with Guildna confirming that his Crimson Blade houses the power of Salamander. Cyrus suggests the group travel back to Antiquity so that they may ask his associate, Dummy, what next to do. Somehow, the group thinks thinks that sounds right, and they depart.
…in Antiquity….
- Cyrus's friend Dummy is - without explanation - literally a straw dummy. It reveals that phantoms of the Elementals can be found at Purgatory. Purgatory is a bardo-ish place in the world one can travel to and talk with dead people, somehow.
- Here's a sentence I never imagined I'd type: A straw dummy transports the team to Purgatory using astral projection.
- In Purgatory, the team fights the spirit remains of the Four Elementals, which is fine thanks for the Elementals saving the universe from annihilation in ver. 1.0. They gather the Four Elemental Arms: Earth Spirit’s Ax, the Wind Spirit’s Lance, the Water Spirit’s Katana, and the Fire Spirit’s Sword.
- Zennon, it turns out, cannot be trusted. While handing over the Elemental Arms, he briefly “frees” Altena only to use her as a biological base for combining the Arms, creating one giant, dark sword. He could kill everyone in an instant, he claims, but he chooses to do the villainous thing and leave the protagonists with time to think of a plan to defeat him.
…in the Future….
- Amy has the bright idea to visit Sebastia to see if she has a bright idea. She googles and finds out the Ogre Key. It was at the Macminal Museum, but it was abandoned. Aldo and Amy manage to get it reopened by time-hopping, but “neohumans” Amy used to know, Clughorn and Mildy, steal the key. (Amy dated a guy named… Clughorn?) Neohumans are mutants, in the X-Men sense, with psychic powers.
- The pair of Neohumans hide out in Toto Dreamland, an amusement park. The protagonists confront them and defeat the monster the two channel. Mildy and Clughorn retreat, leaving the Ogre Key. Mildy, remarkably, calls the new Neohuman organization the Chrono Clan.
…in the Present...
- The fellow from the Gallery of Dreams shows up out of nowhere and "sharpens" the twin blades wielded by the Thunder King and King Miglance. Also, in secret, he switches the blades. This sort of becomes clear, later.
- Ogre Key in hand, our heroes return to 300 AD to do battle with the ogres. The key disables the forcefield around Ogres Spike, and the combined armies of Miglance and Thunder attack from three sides.
- After avenging the Thunder King's son, Alfaldo (awfully similar name to Aldo), killed years ago in the Thunder King's timeline, Ogre Rancorem takes control of Aldo. The sword-ogre threatens the life of the Thunder King, but Aldo's friends beat him mercilessly until he is freed from its control. Ogre Rancorem promises not to do it again, and everyone is satisfied, somehow.
- Everyone comes together and defeats Zennon, the killing blow struck by the Thunder King. However, as Zennon dies, the souls of the ogres that day slain converge on the Thunder King's sword - it turns into another version of Ogre Rancorem. (Aldo's version does its best to explain the situation.) This way, since the Thunder King's sword remained uncorrupted, they all end up with two Ogre Rancorems instead of three. Follow so far?
- King Miglance gives the Thunder King his own Palsifal's holy blade, uncorrupted as it is, and the Thunder King and his troops return to their own timeline. Since the Thunder King has both the uncorrupted *and* the corrupted version of the same sword, the timeline remains in such a way that both Aldo and King Miglance will someday come into possession of their respective versions of the same weapon in the same timeline.
- Ogre Rancorem apparently planned out the whole thing - summoning the Ogre Spike into our timeline - so that our timeline would be altered to the extent the holy blade of Palsifal would not exist, but things played out differently in the game's timeline, thanks to us. (Aldo: "My head's going to start hurting if I think anymore about this." Mood, Aldo, mood.) Altena is returned to normal.
- Ogre Rancorem sets up a sequel by saying "the Goddess of Time" would soon return and that he'll have need of Aldo when she arrives.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
~ EPISODE: The Closed-off Open World and the Azure Rebel (ver. 1.9)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[NOTE: There are other Episodes up until this point, of course, but I don't believe any besides this one and parts of the
Celestial Tower one - so far - are integral to understanding the Main Story. If that turns out to be untrue and Part 2 of the Main Story requires knowledge of one or more of the other Episodes, I'll add them in at some point.]
...in the Future...
- Leongrantze Figaro San - "Leo" - the youngest company officer at KMS, becomes very bored and decides to put into motion a complicated plan to make business dealings with mysterious forces in an alternate world. (I guess they luckily use the same currency, or else there's an exchange rate that I can't possibly understand.)
- Becoming smitten with Sebastia, the granddaughter of the CEO of KMS, he finds her old school project schematics and begins mass producing... well, it's basically a gundam. He decides that's what he'll sell, but he does so behind the backs of his fellow KMS leaders.
- KMS invents LeA-BAK, a rogue Synth Human created by KMS, modeled on Galliard. Leo enlists it to further his plans by enticing it with rumors of something called the Chronos Report, supposedly filled with secrets Professor Chronos catalogued.
- LeA-BAK contacts Helena. He makes some vague threats and leaves the party to wonder how to proceed.
- Through a series of events that may or may not be directly important to understanding the overall story (I'll update if necessary), our heroes resurrect Galliard and he is informed about all that transpired since his death. This was also orchestrated by Leo in order to possibly locate the Chronos Report.
- Biaka, nominally an agent of the Administrator, is revealed to be working for the Cardinal Vestige, the mysterious masterminds behind the Synth Human Rebellion. Pointing the party towards one of their secret bases, they learn of the plot to obtain the Chronos Report. Though they accept help from the Cardinal Vestige this time, Amy and the rest declare that there will be a reconning with the shadowy group controlling everything from the shadows.
- LeA-BAK is defeated by Leo's gundam, commanded by Leo, who declares his intent to discover the contents of the Chronos Report in order to unlock the "Sealed Garden," using his control of the "Time Layers," whatever that means. However, after dying again, Galliard is resurrected by a kiss from Helena, (...) and saves the party from certain death at the hands of Leo and Sebastia's gundam. Sebastia then destroys about 100 mass-produced gundams - they being based off her schematics, she had included a self-destruct option.
- The party - and LeA-Bak, saved by Galliard and Helena - escapes the building that housed the now-destroyed gundams, and Sebastia is narrowly saved by none other than Leo.
- Despite everything that transpired - world-ending level subterfuge and the attempted murder of the party and all - the pair decide to be on decent terms. (What?) Leo reveals that KMS found out about his schemes but was overall impressed by his boldness. However, they decide to stop attempting cross-time transactions.
- Galliard cryptically mentions "the stars" are at least somewhat in control and that the preceding events have shone light on the mysterious "Over Technology." Meanwhile, LeA-BAK is shown utilizing a wormhole to travel to times unknown.

2023.05.27 19:05 GlassResident171 How to Hack and “Fix” a Bad Credit Score How to Improve a Bad Credit Score.
[email protected]) You can think of maintaining good credit as preventive medicine.
That means you can take control of your financial health now, and make moves that will positively affect your credit scores. Here's how. [

Once you've done the hard work to fix a bad credit score, keeping up the momentum is the steps above.
If a card has a high annual fee and you're no longer using it, weigh the potential tradeoffs of a shorter credit history with the money you could save. [

A bad credit score doesn't have to weigh you down. There are concrete actions you can take today and in the future to improve it, and to keep your score as high as possible.

Wavetable Immediately playable, infinitely capable, Wavetable is a new synthesizer built by Ableton. Shape, stretch and morph sounds using wavetables derived from analog synths, and a range of other instruments and sounds. Start sculpting sounds right away—even without a deep knowledge of synthesis—or explore its rich palette and potential through an intuitive interface.
Echo Echo brings together the sound of classic analog and digital hardware delays in a single device—your new go-to delay. Drive and shape sounds with its analog-modeled filters, turn up the noise and wobble for vintage imperfections, or add modulation and reverb to create diffuse soundscapes, wailing feedback and more.
Drum Buss Drum Buss is a one-stop workstation for drums, capable of adding subtle character or bending and breaking drums to your will. Add warmth and distortion with drive and crunch, take control of dynamics with compression and transient shaping, dial in and tune boom and control bass decay with the dedicated low end section.

Pedal With separate circuit-level models of overdrive, distortion and fuzz guitar pedals, Pedal brings the character of analog stomp boxes to Live. The effect goes all the way from subtle to reckless—it excels at warming up vocals and other instruments, driving synth sounds or completely smashing drums. And of course, it sounds great with guitars.
Stay in the flow You’ll find improvements to Live that help you stay in the flow at every stage of your creative process, whether you’re getting ideas down, organizing your setup or editing the details of your music.

2023.05.27 18:01 SNIP_MY_DICK I was scammed on the Las Vegas strip, my credit union will not refund me and says I was not scammed
The scammer does not have a working phone number, so they cannot be contacted.
My credit union says that the ONLY check they performed, was to see if my card was physically present. Since it was present, it's not fraud or a scam. Fraud claim rejected.
I tried resolving this over the phone but they seem incapable of doing anything besides re-reading my rejection email. The will not escalate or re-submit the claim despite my frequent requests that they do so.
I tried to show up in person, but they did the same thing as the phone people. Re-read me my rejection email and then told me I had to leave or they'd call the police.
So now that trying to resolve my problem by talking has failed. Can I sue my credit union for failing to refund me for fraud? VISA cards guarantee a refund on fraud. I am being refused this service which they advertise.
It's a claim for $280. Not even THAT much.
I live in Washington state.

2023.05.27 17:33 jakishababers 971- Request for replacement refund $0
| Long story short, account or routing number was incorrectly typed but accepted. Refund however was rejected by Wells Fargo. SBTPG then tried to mail a paper check to my old address. It was returned to the SBTPG then sent back to the IRS. 4 months later my transcript updates to say 971 request for replacement refund. Does anyone know why it says $0? Or when I’ll see my refund from this point? IRS only sees that the refund was sent to me back in February and doesn’t see that it was returned to them by SBTPG at all, who swear they sent it back Feb 27th 2023. They’ve even credited $100 for inconvenience which idk how I’ll get that since it was applied months later. This is ridiculous I really hope I don’t have to involve my attorney but at this point I might have to. I got SBTPG saying they sent it back and even gave me extra money for the delay and I got the IRS saying they don’t see it at all. If it was sent on Feb 27th surely the IRS should see it by now. Right? Omg I’ve never gone through anything like this before. What on earth? submitted by jakishababers to IRS [link] [comments] |

Memory transcript: Sharnet, Venlil investigative journalist. Date: [Standardized human time] September 16th, 2136 Vekna and Tagleb had been talking for a better part of a claw. Engine design, steam pressure, time it took to make the model. After the stressful paws coming here, and what we had found about our last suspect, it was good just to spend a little time with someone kind. It was good to see Vekna able to talk to someone without a filter.
After all she’s had to hide in her life, she deserves someone she can talk to. A better person than me. I had walked up the stairs and sat in one of the chairs, fiddling with my holonote. I would’ve just been in their way down there. Vekna would have tried to mask herself. She shouldn’t have to, she shouldn’t be punished for liking things. She shouldn’t be punished for other people not knowing how to interact with her.
I look down at my holonote. I had filled out and sent off an incident report for when we helped that worker. I had added copies of all the evidence along with revealing that I’m a journalist willing to tell the story. The actual labor safety department would be able to take over now. Make sure something would change. But afterwards, my fingers moved on their own.Tarlim’s number is displayed.
People should be punished for actually doing wrong. Not simply because they are different. I select the number to make the call. I don’t quite know why. I want to talk to him. Actually talk to him. Not messages. Hear his voice. Listen-
The call connects. It picks up.
“H-Hello? Sharnet?” I feel my fur relax. I hadn’t even realized my scruff had risen. “Hello Tarlim.”
“Sharnet! Hey, how are you doing? It’s- it’s good to hear from you!” “ I’m … I’m doing good,” I say. “I’m on the trail of another Overseer. They won’t get away with what they did. I - I promise.”
“You didn’t have to do all this for me, Sharnet. Please keep safe. I do appreciate what you’re doing, I do! Just…” There was a moment of silence. He was worried. I could feel it in his voice.
“ Please don’t let them hurt you too.” “I won’t,” I promised, “I won’t. I just- please know that there are people who care for you.”
“Thank you. It’s been…it’s been frustrating.” I straightened in my seat. “Did something new happen?”
“The…” I heard a sigh from the speakers.
“My landlords fired me. For no reason.” I gasped, insulted on his behalf. “They can’t do that!”
“I know, I called my lawyer. He’s already started handing it.” I heard a growl of frustration come forth from him, but it settled after a couple breaths.
“I’m sorry, I’m tired of everything just… just everything. Thank you for- for calling.” I heard him sob. I felt my own eyes moisten as well. We talked. Talked about what we had been doing since we last saw each other. Talked about who we had to deal with. The people we met. Good and bad. We even talked about the events of today.
And he was kind! Why was he so kind? “But I … ran. He was hurting, his paw was mangled, and I ran.”
“But you went back. You were the first to react with intent to help. That has to count for something. It does to me, at least.” “Then what about Vekna? I- she almost died! She-”
“You saved her life! From what I have heard about shortlung, those attacks can be random! If you hadn’t noticed as quickly as you did, she would’ve been a goner! You did that, you saved her life, and I doubt she blames you for any of it. I wouldn’t.” He seemed so calm.
His voice is so soothing. Even with all he’s gone through. I didn’t know how he did it. It felt… It felt so good. “But, what about Tagleb? When I saw what he was doing, I thought he was an idiot! That there wasn’t anything to learn from- from primitives. I had judged him negatively before even trying to see what good he was actually doing. I said I would try and change, but I’m still acting like these people are… like they’re nothing but primitive insignificantes.”
“Do you still think that?” I wasn’t sure how to respond to that. I didn’t think of Tagelb or the Yotul as lesser when I gave it conscious thought, but were the teachings of the Federation really so ingrained into me that I couldn’t separate myself from them? From the people who rejected Vekna because she was different? From the people who tortured Tarlim for rotations because
he was a little different? From the woman I was in the exchange who tried to kill their human partner for showing something that made her uncomfortable? “I…No, I don’t. I don’t want to view them like that, but…it’s hard. Everything we’ve ever known has been turned on its head, everything
I’ve ever known. I want to grow, but I’m scared that I’m… that I’m going to just act like my father did!”
“…Your father?” I paused. It had just slipped out. Something I hadn’t spoken about for years.
No backing out now. He deserves the truth. “He… he hurt us. We talked to him, tried to get him to change. And he would! He would act better! Be better! Even when alone! Then-then he would fall back. Sometimes different, but another form of hurt. Stealing food money for booze. Canceling my classes so he could use the money for himself. Missing major events because it just slipped his mind! Then he, he used…. He used pheromones.”
Tarlim was silent for a while. That revelation always made people pause when I talked about it. The taboo around naturally-occurring pheromones was already strong enough, and those that used the harvested stuff were ostracized. Rightly so, given the process needed to extract them.
“He used pheromones? Sharnet, I…I had no idea. How old were…?” “I was 9. Mom…she didn’t want to believe me. She thought he no longer got bored around us. She wanted to believe things were changing for the better.” I took a breath to collect my thoughts.
It’s just as painful as it was back then. “He… he put it in our food. I saw, and he said it was harmless.”
It wasn’t harmless. “I… I snuck a camera along with him. Caught him buying. Showed my mom. That…that was the last we saw of him. We just packed up and drove off. I-I don’t even know if he’s still alive.”
“That was brave of you. You stepped up, even when you were so little. You helped get away from someone who wouldn’t change. I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I wish there was something I could do.” I felt my cheeks bloom. “You have enough to deal with. Just talking is enough.” I let out a sigh and placed my holonote on the table. “But… he did change. He always got bored. Always looked for something to get his mind on. Whatever he focused on changed until he got to those pheromones. There were several times when he was nothing at all. But he would always fall into something else… What if I’m like that? What if I change, only to just shift my horrible actions into something else? That no matter what, my brain will just seek out new people to abuse?”
Silence reigned between us. I wished that he could find something that would make this all better. That would make this hurt just disappear. I heard him give a sad sigh. “
I believe in you, Sharnet. You have learned so much. You actually are trying to change, not just shifting focus. You learned, and you actually try to be better.” A deep breath came from the speakers.
“Thank you so much for all you’ve done with the Overseers. You have done more than so many others already.” “It… it’s no problem.” I released a breath I didn’t know I was holding. Even after all he knows, he still believes in me. My ears flick instinctively at the sound of stairs creaking. “It sounds like my partner and Tagleb are done. Thank you for taking the time to talk with me.”
“Thank you for calling. And Sharnet?” I pick up my holonote. “Yes?”
“I… I want you to know I am always willing to listen. Even if it’s just to you saying hello. So if you ever want to… I’m here to talk.” I fight against my rising bloom, as if he could see me now. “Thank you Tarlim. I will… I’ll talk to you later.”
“Talk to you later, too.” I settled back into my seat as the call ended. My timing was perfect, as Tagleb and Vekna exited from the basement together. Their tails were wagging synchronously with joy from their long conversation. Tagleb closed the door to the basement behind them, his body language positively beaming. “It’s great to see someone who appreciates the mechanics of those engines!”
I saw Vekna give me a nervous glance before she said anything. “It’s a… a passing interest.” She turned so one eye was directed at me. “I’m sorry I wasted so much time. I lost track of how late it had gotten. I am So Sorry.”
I was slightly taken aback by how rapidly she offered an apology.
Even after meeting with him, she still feels she must hide from me. I couldn’t help but sadly lower my ears at that.
If she found out about Chase, would she fear me more? Would she- No. Feel your fur. She is a good person. Let her know that. I release my hands clenching my wool and stand from my seat. “It’s no problem. Catching Unzekep at the beginning of her work claw will be the most convenient option for us, anyways. We have had to wait.”
She still seemed nervous. Fretting that I would accuse her of something bad. I rose from my chair and smoothed out my fur. “Still, we have likely overstayed. Vekna, could you run to the road and see if you can hail a cab? I would like to talk to Tagleb for a bit while you do so.”
She flicked her tail in agreement and scampered out of the cabin. I could tell she was relieved to not have to make any more excuses to me.
I wish I could convince her to come clean, but there are secrets on both sides. Tagelb rubbed the back of his head awkwardly. “Yeah, sorry about how late I kept you both. I suppose I should get you a parting gift. What kind of drinks do you like?”
He walked over to his refrigerator and started rummaging around. I looked out the window to make sure Vekna was out of earshot before I stood in the doorway to the kitchen, blocking Tagelb’s route out. “What is your opinion on Predator Disease?”
He froze, rising back up to his standing height and closing the door. “I…don’t understand what you mean. If this is about the escaped patients, then I-”
“I didn’t ask you about the patients, Tagelb, I asked you about the disease. Predator Disease.” He looked back to me, his scales shifting colors as he tried to make sense of what I was asking him.
He has to understand, with his little hobby. “I, uh…I d-don’t know? It’s a shame that people end up c-coming down with it, and it’s a shame that people like those overseers you’re after were able to take advantage of it. I-I don’t really…I’m not sure what you’re asking me, to be honest.” His range of colors started to narrow down to a set of anxiousness.
I took a step into the kitchen and closed the door, earning a flash of fear from the tall Harchen.
He needs to realize what this means for him. “You said you immigrated to Venlil Prime to study old technology, yes? To avoid being ‘falsely labeled’ for Predator Disease?”
His color was rapidly settling on fear as he backed further away into the kitchen. “I-I…y-yes, that’s what I s-said. Why?”
“Because, Tagelb, by all Federation standards, you
do have Predator Disease.”
His eyes opened wide and his scales flashed every color they were capable of flashing. “Wh-but I thought you…you told me that!
You!” His color shifted to red as he stood at his full height, his spinal ridges separating. “You’re here to get me wrongly convicted, aren’t you?! I don’t…why would they send someone across the galaxy to hunt me down?!”
I swayed my tail in the negative, lessening the saturation of his hue in confusion. “No, I’m not here to ‘wrongfully convict’ you, but to help you realize a truth you seem dead set on refusing. Any threat to the Federation, their standard, and their policies
are Predator Disease. It isn’t some nigh-incurable virus that causes the individual to become a mindless, slobbering animal, you know.”
He shook his head rapidly in what I assumed to be a nervous tick, given that I’ve seen him do it a couple of times during our first confrontation at the cafe. “I-I know that, but it destroys someone’s ability to empathize! How would that all be faked?”
“How could entire centuries of technological innovation be erased? How could mentions of unique cultures be erased?” I met the gaze of his eye with one of my own. “How could it take going to an illegal UnderNet site just to find information on steam engines? There are a lot of things that can be erased, Tagelb, and you know that firsthand.” I swiveled my ears towards the door. Satisfied with the nothing I heard, I played my trump card. “Do you want to know something about Vekna?”
Tagelb gulped, his color shifting closer and closer towards fear. “W-What? What do you mean to say?”
I took another step, and with all the willpower I could muster, I finally spoke the truth I had known for paws.
“She has Predator Disease.” I could see the disbelief in his eyes as his rapid shifting began again. “I-no, that’s-she can’t have…we talked so much, she was so… so…”
“So normal, right?” I finished for him.
He’s finally starting to get it. He curled his tail. “Yes! She…she listened to me, and we laughed together, and she was finally nice to me after finding out about my hobbies, and… I finally met someone I could talk to in real life about this! Someone like…someone…” The realization set in, his scales resting on a dark hue. “I have Predator Disease.”
About Stars-damned time you figured it out. “Yes, you do. And you know what?” He looked over at me wordlessly, a shattered psyche visible in his eyes. “That’s
okay.”
I could see a glimmer of hope in his eyes. “It’s…okay?”
I completed my trek towards him and placed a gentle paw on his shoulder. “More than okay. Everything you said about her is still true, no? She’s not a monster because she can brave more things than you or I.
You’re not a monster just because you have special interests and nervous tics. The Federation lied about the trains, lied about the technology before them, lied about
predators themselves. Why would they tell the truth about this?”
“But…” his colors shifted in worry, “but why? Who would do that?”
That was the question. “I don’t know,” I admitted, “but whoever it is, they have to keep it mostly hidden. When the Dawn Creek facility’s crimes were revealed, it was called barbaric and closed down. Because it was too clear that the people didn’t deserve it.” I sighed. “But the other facilities go on. They still do those horrible acts on people who don’t deserve it, because everyone acts like they do. They continue because of those who think that the people in there are freaks, those who believe what the Federation said with blind trust.” I hesitated with my next words. They would be the hardest to accept. “Just like you had.”
“But-but I-”
“You didn’t realize,” I finished for him . “I didn’t either at first. It took me doing something, something
horrible, to realize I was wrong. But you… you-you learned all on your own.” I sighed, gripping his shoulders with my hands. “We are still going to look into Unzekep. There’s still the possibility she
is who we’re looking for. But if she isn’t… please. Don’t hate them for being different. Don’t fear them for…for something they can’t control.”
Tagleb looked at me. Both our eyes meet each other. He took a deep breath, and forcibly shifted to a calm green. “I’ll… I’ll try.”
I let go and give him a bow. “Thank you.” I step back to leave, but hesitate. It feels like I should say something as a goodbye, but my mind wasn’t finding any words that felt appropriate. “I-I guess I’ll be leaving now. Thank you…for your time.”
“It…” he swallowed, his eyes heavy with thought. “It was good meeting you two.”
Taking my exit, I closed the door to the cabin, trotting down the winding road we took to get here. The cool, shaded air of the mountains whipped through my fur as I contemplated everything that’s happened to me. As I walked, I made a promise to myself, to Vekna, to Chase, and to everyone I hurt. A promise that I wouldn’t break if it killed me.
I will not be like my father, and I will not perpetuate my pain to anyone else, so long as I live. His legacy dies with me.

First Prev Patreon Arxur POV of the Cradle Series wiki Official subreddit Discord ---
Memory transcription subject: Chief Hunter Isif, Arxur Rebellion Command Date [standardized human time]: January 15, 2137 The humans were checking their timekeeping instruments; Kaisal still had three minutes to arrive for our briefing. The scrawny Arxur had no intention of lingering for an extra second of chatter, and was leaving the pre-meeting socializing to us. The command structure here monitored ship activity near our stealth habitat, which was hidden within Harchen space. Fahl and its subsidiaries were just across the border of what once had been Shaza’s sector. We were keeping vigilant for any new Dominion attacks.
With Kaisal’s arrival still pending, that left time for Felra to poke and prod as she always did. The Dossur stayed away from the general Arxur populace; I was glad that word of her presence hadn’t gotten around, after yesterday’s confession. It wasn’t safe for her to encounter any non-empathetic Arxur, and even those with softer emotions might not be fond of her. The primates had been a positive presence that grounded her socially, especially with her curiosity about mankind.
“Planning operations against the Dominion is important. We can’t have Giznel thinking we’ll run,” I mused aloud. “Keeping our morale up is partly my outreach, and partly scoring some victories. How are each of you holding up?”
Olek adjusted his glasses. “Seeing Arxur up close…I don’t know. I loved the idea of meeting aliens, but the videos we saw of you on Earth…they were gruesome. Had no clue you were being starved by your own government, on purpose. Guess that shows what you get knowing one side of the story; a lesson I’ve preached my whole life. I’ve come around to thinking you’re a cool guy, Siffy, if a bit prickly.”
“They always taught us the grays were incapable of compassion. Clearly not true across the board; you’re sweet.” Felra’s whiskers twitched, and I wondered once more how she could stand me. If the humans used “grays” or “sweet”, I would’ve smacked them, but I let it slide in the Dossur’s case. “We’re not worth the effort to collect, so the Dossur weren’t your typical victims. I’d see the horrible things on the news, but they happened to someone else.”
My nostrils flared. “Hrr. I tried to be as cruel as possible, for Betterment’s liking, and to think of what would hurt people most in my attacks. I brainstormed a number of those horrible things you saw. I know I had no choice, but perhaps I was lying when I said fault could not be assigned, yes?”
“I don’t think it’s your fault. Everyone taught you that was right, just like people taught me all predators are evil. By the time you actually got real power, you were doing what kept you alive before.”
“Millions died as a direct consequence of my orders, Felra. I’ve eaten prey like you alive! I executed my own kind, targeted herbivore schools on purpose, and ran cattle farms.”
“Those were mistakes, but you didn’t know there was another option, except to die. You gave the cattle back to Tarva, and you want the future to be different. Don’t you want to do what’s right for us all, Siffy?”
“I…yes, of course I do! You’re one strange Dossur. Why are you like this?”
“Well, I know who you are and what you’ve done
now. The future is what matters, making things change. What do you want to do when the war ends?”
“I’ve never thought about it. Ask the leaf-lickers.”
Felra turned an inquisitive eye toward the two human guards, whose wistful gazes landed on her. The thought of going home to Earth, with the war settled and opportunities abounding, seemed to fill them with a wishful mindset. I’d listened to the two describe the concept of homesickness, which I couldn’t wrap my mind around. Terrans were sentimental predators, more than willing to domesticate themselves to boring pastimes.
“When everything settles down, I’d like to start my own business,” Lisa said. “Something like a coffee shop, where people can come to relax and play board games. I like the idea of bringing people together.”
I narrowed my eyes. “
That is your grand ambition?”
“Who said it has to be grand? What’s important is having a life that’s fulfilling. Bringing positive vibes, and leaving the world a better place. Also, I thought my sister was dead for a few weeks, so it’ll be nice to hug her again. We still haven’t had that reunion, and it would be cathartic.”
“Typical humans. They give better, more censored answers, yes, Felra? Ah, don’t answer that. What’s your lame ambition, broken-eyes?”
Olek scowled at me. “It’s like the glasses are the only thing you see about me! You’re an old man. I’m gonna fuckin’ laugh when your vision starts going.”
“Ah, Olek, your true vision failing is your blindness to reality. Nobody’s gonna believe you worked with Arxur rebels. It’ll just be another of your crazy stories,” Lisa teased.
“Maybe I’ll pitch the story to Hollywood then! Writing a book doesn’t seem
that hard, and it’s a guaranteed bestseller. How Earth secretly worked with the Arxur, all the way up to the Secretary-General, while building their superweapons! All that shit about Giznel writes itself too: starvation, an unwritten agreement with the Feds.”
I sighed in annoyance. “You must have more serious aspirations than that. Don’t you have people you care about?”
The conspiracy theorist fell into a contemplative silence. “I do. There’s a human kid I’d like to see succeed. I was…adopted, so foster children are an issue close to my heart. Everyone deserves to land on their feet, you know?”
Kaisal strolled into the room, and our self-indulgent chatter ceased in an instant. I’d been trying to gauge if there was a trace of defectiveness in him, but my new second-in-command hated socializing. He seated himself far away from Felra and the primates, taking it upon himself to boot up my messaging system. There was a file sent from the Secretary-General’s office, which was flagged
Urgent intelligence. I’d just spoken to Zhao a day ago at length, so I wasn’t sure what could’ve happened between now and then. It wasn’t important enough to merit an in-person call to interrupt, but the human government wasn’t known for meaningless communiques. The arboreal predators were excellent at sifting through oodles of information. Weaponized knowledge was among their primary fortes.
“Prepare the projector,” I ordered Kaisal. “Go on. Olek, Lisa, any Dominion movement on the ship tracker?”
Olek leaned closer to the sensors readout. “No Arxur vessels within five light-years of the habitat. I see a sizable contingent of Federation craft, which seem to be on a sweeping patrol.”
“From the faint trails we can pick up, and known identifiers, those ships look to be Kolshian. That might be what Zhao is informing you of. Earth was due to launch operations against them any day. The bastards could just be on high alert, or moving in on another UN ally, like they did the Dossur.”
“Do you have any thoughts, Kaisal? We welcome your input,” I prompted.
Kaisal kept his controlled pupils on the screen. “I think the Kolshians deserve to die, for what they did to us. They’re the party behind our starvation. They’re here. We should kill them.”
“Prophet-Descendant Giznel told me that the Commonwealth conceals their true strength. We are in a vulnerable position. We must exercise caution.”
“After the…animal you keep with you, it would be a way to prove you’re not with the Federation. They’re our enemy as much as the Dominion.”
“What Isif is saying is that we should win one battle first before taking on another,” Felra chimed in.
“Nobody asked for prey’s opinion.”
“You will not speak to her like that!” I roared, blowing Lisa’s hair out of her face from the force of my exhale. “NEVER AGAIN!”
“I said…I would tolerate it. I’ve done that, but no amount of food, or threats, can push me further. Do we have a problem, Isif?”
“No. Do not address Felra at all, if you cannot be polite. Brief me on Zhao’s message, now.”
Kaisal swallowed, a lump passing down his throat. He transferred the contents onto the holoprojector, and allowed us to read at our own pace. The Secretary-General informed us that these were intercepted messages sent between the Kolshian Commonwealth’s Office of the Chieftain, and the Arxur Dominion’s Betterment office. That was enough to cause me to narrow my eyes in confusion. Since when did those two parties directly communicate?
Prophet-Descendant Giznel stated that their agreement was unspoken. Perhaps that wasn’t the whole truth, or they’re trying to establish backchannels for some reason. The scrawny Arxur wagged a claw. “Should I play the video logs?”
“Yes,” I growled.
Kaisal clicked on the video clip, which showed an indigo Kolshian initiating the conversation. Despite the wrinkles on his face, Nikonus had a way of scowling with his bulbous, side-facing eyes that made him look threatening. He folded his tentacles across his chest, and turned one pupil on the camera. There wasn’t a trace of fear, despite the fact that this was directed at Betterment. I wondered how the humans had gotten a hold of this footage, but there was rarely any explanation of their methods.
“The Dominion interfered with our operations at Mileau,” Nikonus stated in a cold voice. “Though we’ve never spoken, I thought there was an agreement between our offices. Explain yourselves, or you will face our unfettered wrath…as we are showing the humans.”
After several minutes of footage, which Zhao had scrubbed through in the package, Prophet-Descendant Giznel appeared on screen. I could tell from his locked teeth that he didn’t like speaking to an herbivore. It was remarkable that he would accept a direct invitation to parlay from the Kolshians; it was apparent Betterment did not want a war with the Commonwealth, if they’d go to such lengths. Nikonus must have reasons to wish for the Dominion’s continued existence as well.
A hiss emanated from Giznel’s throat. “As your control slips, ours does as well. That was an action of a rogue Chief Hunter, Isif, who apparently seeks to rebel against the Dominion. He thinks that he can rule all by himself. He’s blasting the tune of peace and satiety to anyone who will listen. The arrangement with Betterment still stands.”
“I see. Don’t get me wrong; we hate you, and I know you hate us,” Nikonus said. “The Kolshians grasp our moral imperative to fix the galaxy, but that is a centuries-long process…these humans have been a major setback. There are untapped worlds out there. We need one predator around, and the last thing I want is a fucking Arxur asking for peace! It makes you look good.”
“I know; it’s sickening. A fat, lazy Dominion without Betterment? The war must continue, for the sake of control. We’re trying to hunt Isif down, but he’s been elusive.”
“I will send ships to put an end to this sycophant. We always have a few tricks behind our tentacles. Just remember your role, and you can go about your merry raiding in peace.”
The Kolshian ended the transmission link, and the five of us sat in silence. Kaisal looked the most shocked of us all, seeing the Dominion’s highest levels openly cooperating with the Federation’s leader. I was floored that Nikonus would volunteer his forces to flush us out; with my past knowledge about their motives, it was easy to reconcile their actions. My push for peace was antithetical to their desire for a forever war, which conveniently depicted predators as mindless drones.
What would the other herbivores think, if this footage got out? Surely the United Nations could use this to garner more support; they were always looking for a propaganda angle. Lisa and Olek had returned their focus to the sensors screen. The humans were muttering to themselves about the Kolshian ships sweeping entire systems, meandering toward us. My maw jerked with realization, and I realized the Federation were seeking out an attack against my rebellion.
The habitat is cloaked, but the Kolshians seem to think that can’t stop them. Nikonus mentioned tricks, and even Giznel thought they were stronger than they let on. That they could beat us in a no-holds-barred fight. Racking my brain for ideas, I transmitted orders to all patrollers and warships to be on stand-by for combat. The slow-moving habitat wouldn’t be able to outrun the Kolshians, who were a few light years out; it also would alert them to our presence definitively, and leave a clear trail, if we jumped out via FTL. I turned to Olek, and barked for him to dial up the Secretary-General in a hurry. The humans had sent us this intelligence, so they must have some idea of what we should do.
“Hello, Isif. I was expecting you might call.” Zhao’s form was visible on screen, as he rode in some antiquated airplane. A slight smirk was on his face, though I saw some signs of sleep deprivation which I’d noted in Elias Meier. “It surprised the United Nations as well, and I figured it would be critical intelligence to pass along to you.”
“It is—thank you. But the Kolshians are already coming for us. There’s thousands of ships rooting out any rebellion assets, drawing nearer to us. Escape isn’t a viable option, and I must be a critical asset for you to preserve, yes?! Please…you have to help, human,” I hissed.
A taut grimace crossed his face, though I knew that generals of his caliber only revealed as much emotion as they wanted to. It was a promising sign that Zhao would show his concern; however, what we needed was a commitment of ships to ward off the Kolshians. If Nikonus had the extraneous resources to devote to our demise, there was no telling how many total craft were under his control. I wouldn’t make the mistake of writing them off as a weak herbivore military.
“Humanity is engaged in many battles. Mileau is still an ongoing affair, with a bit of a stand-off ensuing. The Kolshians possess drone technology, which our nanodrones neutralized, yet we lack numbers to dismantle their fleet. They’re using biological weaponry against our ground assets, so those missions have been called off. Tell your Dossur friend we’re sorry it’s been a mixed bag, will you?” Zhao asked.
Felra skittered up to the camera lens. “I’m glad that you tried. We…I don’t want you to throw human lives away.”
“We did what we could, but it’s always my goal to stop senseless loss of life. I will do whatever is necessary to keep Earth and humanity safe. That’s my policy, to the day I draw my last breath. Anyhow, we also have a good chunk of ships forging ahead to Kolshian and Farsul territory, which should be a vicious fight. Tack on the defensive requisites and we’re short on ships to spare.”
“If you don’t help us, the rebellion ends today. You’re damning my species to extinction!” I spat.
Earth’s leader raised his hands placatingly. “Let me finish. I’m thinking aloud here. We must remain decidedly neutral at this time; we don’t want a fight with the Dominion. UN vessels will not fire upon Arxur craft. We’re already warring with one giant, and Giznel declaring war on us might bury us.”
“It’s not the Arxur. I don’t see any of ours in the count, and we can handle a few Dominion scouts.”
“Well, we’re at war with the Kolshians already, so they
are fair game. It’s a poor example to let them go wherever they like and lash out, in our territory. The Harchen are a Terran protectorate. We didn’t let the Arxur have Fahl, so we sure won’t be letting the Federation get their tentacles on our space. We have the political cover.”
“So you’ll help?”
“I’ll help, but you’ll need to come to us. I don’t have assets within an hour’s travel. Warp your assets to the UN garrison at Fahl, and we’ll handle any Kolshians that follow you. To be clear, this is not an outward declaration of support. It’s a one-time pact.”
“Understood. Thank you, Mr. Secretary-General.”
Zhao dipped his head, and signed off the call. I told Kaisal to transmit the coordinates to the habitat’s forces, while encouraging them to make a rapid evacuation. A rendezvous with the UN fleet aided our chances, though I was still nervous about a large-scale battle. Such broad conflicts hadn’t been how our insurgency operated; we’d adopted the policy of quiet disruption, due to our lack of numbers. Felra tugged at my claws, which I yanked back.
Crazy Dossur. If she grabs those stabbing instruments and I don’t see her, her throat might end up like those gouged Kolshians back at her research station. It’s not like the humans’ weak fingers. “What is your problem, rodent?” I snarled. “This is not the time—”
Felra pulled on my paw insistently. “I want you to know it’s going to be okay. And I want you to pick me up!”
I huffed in outright irritation, noticing the withering look on Kaisal’s face. My paw slid under her stomach, hoisting her on an express journey to my shoulder. Felra nuzzled against my chin, mere inches below where my serrated fangs showed. Perhaps it would’ve been better to leave her at Proxima Centauri, rather than suffer this constant embarrassment. I was the leader of a faction of apex predators, not some toy!
“Do you trust these humans not to attack you? It could be a trap,” Kaisal grumbled.
“It’s not. It’s not pure altruism either; it’s useful to them to keep us alive. They wouldn’t have bothered to support us at all if they wanted to kill us. We’re going to Fahl, and we’re going to fight…whatever good that may do.”
Lisa ran a hand through her hair. “Fahl. That’s where we were stationed before Mileau—it’s all come full circle. I hope the forces are ready to receive some Kolshians.”
“Chief Calamari’s gonna get a boot in his squid behind. Have some faith, Siffy,” Olek declared.
I heaved a weary sigh, and summoned a warship for myself. A good leader, in the Arxur tradition, commanded by example; we were supposed to be the most fearsome hunters alive. It wasn’t clear if that was still true, after my exposure to this inane Dossur, but I intended to do what I could at Fahl. The Kolshians wouldn’t put our rebellion to bed if I had anything to say about it.
