2023.05.25 01:57 shaunalon9 Are these two chips the same? + If anyone has this chip please let me know how it is for you

Hey i was just wondering if anybody could tell me if the two garmin chips linked below are the same ones. I'm trying to get the chip with high resolution shading for southeast florida and this garmin chips seems to be the one I'm looking for. The reason I'm asking if the chip on garmin's website is the same as the one on thegpsstore.com is because of the price difference. They are listed as what seems to be the same thing, but I need some other eyes to check it out. Also, if any of you have this garmin chip, I would really appreciate a review of it in the comment. I go out of haulover inlet here in south florida and I'm trying to help my time fishing be more enjoyable since I've been getting skunked almost everytime I go out.
Links to the chips below.
Thanks

2023.03.31 20:02 Undercover500 Have you ever “stuffed” the bow, or come close to it?

After watching a lot of the Haulover inlet videos, it seems like stuffing the bow is almost common place!
Granted, I’m on freshwater inland lakes, so the giant waves seen out on the ocean are not something I regularly contend with.
I’ve boated on lake Winnebago and Lake Michigan, both of which can be quite nasty at times. I’ve been in some pretty sloppy stuff before in a 19 foot boat. 2-3 foot white caps and another time probably 4-5 foot rollers and a 6-8 second period.
I usually trim and adjust speed to the conditions pretty well. My “oh shit, this is rough” hull attitude is around 10-15mph with the bow trimmed as high as she’ll go, and just ride the back of a roller if I can. Otherwise, just let the waves hit the keel, keep the bow high and bring her back to the dock.
Never came close to stuffing the bow, except for one time when I was caught off guard by a wake boat wake, on a smaller inland lake. We slapped down pretty hard and got some good spray, but didn’t spear into the next wave.
Anyone ever actually stuff the bow? What happened after?
I imagine stuffing the bow in a jon boat would be a good way to end the day pretty quick, but I know some of the larger boats are self bailing and can handle some water on deck.

2023.02.03 03:51 MrBoogyWoogy Does the Haulover sandbar still exist?

Does the Haulover sandbar still exist?
Grew up in North Miami and used to love renting kayaks from Oleta Park and paddling out to the Haulover sandbar on sunny days... but from what I've been reading online they dredged it about a year ago. 😕
Next weekend I'm in town and wanted to know:
  • Has anybody been there recently?
  • Is there nowhere left to post up?
  • Would it be worth kayaking out to?

Google satellite from 2023 gives me some hope..
