I built this pc a few days ago and at first it ran fantastically, 140 + frames stable at 2k until I got off a night ago. The next morning it turned on just fine and it sat idle for a while as I found something to eat and ate. Then I got on launched my tarkov and discord and got right into it. I'm mid raid with my girlfriend and a friend of mine and my discord starts closing and reopening on its own and after a minute of that I close it myself and reopen it in hopes it won't keep doing it. I go back to my tarkov and my tarkov starts not responding so I just close it because I was just gonna restart my pc because also for the last couple minutes my sound was making a weird noise every like 5 seconds and my discord was being weird. As my tarkov starts to try to load back up my computer BSOD and now I can't get it to boot to windows or boot to windows installation media to try to fresh install windows. I took the m2 out to see if I could even load the windows installation media and it just sat and loaded the little circle for like 7 minutes so I just shut the pc off. I can get into the bios no problem but i can't do anything else. I enabled xmp the night prior after everything had been running fine for a while. I think it turned it up to 5800, It ran fine all night. I don't remember what BSOD code it was first but I ended up getting several after several start ups and shut downs. The codes were system service exception , wdfilter.sys , page fault in nonpaged area, internal crypto error and critical process died. The last two I was receiving was the internal crypto error, I received it a few times as well as the critical process died. I've got like 2500 bucks into the build and I'm just lost with what to do next, I have no way of swapping the parts onto something else or vice versa because everything I got isn't compatible. I've built 3 other computers and have done alot of other things with them but I'm by no means a wiz, I know a little about many things. I know these mobos need to be updated for ram compatability and whatever else and to my knowledge I followed the q flash procedures and updated it. I'm looking for insight from someone else who might of had similar problems. Has anyone else used these samsung 980 pros with this mobo? The heatsink one almost seems as if it won't quite sit right as it should but by like 1mm so I didn't think it would be a issue. I'm just rambling at this point, any insight is greatly appreciated, I would like to have this machine back up and running. The benchmarks of this pc were far far better than any pc I've had before with 500%+ benchmarks on two of the benchmark ratings on user benchmark and 300%+ on the other. Also I think I failed to mention I have a cooler master aio 240mm water cooler and corsair rm850x psu and for ram I have 4 16gb sticks of corsair vengeance ddr5 at 5600mhz I believe and last but not least I have a msi 16gb 4080.

Hi I was hoping to ask for some advice about some conflict at work!
I was asked to swap a saturday shift with one of my fellow circ assistants and accepted. Now, another circ assistant also had to call out for an upcoming Saturday and it ended up that I would take the new shift and someone else would take the initial one I accepted.
After I thought everything was settled, I was asked to work both saturday shifts due to scheduling conflicts. Now, I just worked this past weekend. As I’m sure is the case at a lot of libraries any weekend shift is chaotic. We only have 1 librarian, 1 circ assistant, and 1 page (for a few hours) working on those days.
I almost always accept swapping shifts because I like everyone I work with and am always happy to help. But working 3 weekends in a 4 week period is a lot and I’m slightly frustrated that I’ve been put in a situation where I feel like I can’t say no because I’ve accepted working both shifts at different times.
It’s a really small staff and I don’t want to seem ungrateful for some extra hours after my hours were cut, and if it were any other day of the week I would be fine but weekends are exhausting honestly. I like everyone I work with but this is just a tough situation that arises in any small town library.
I’d appreciate any advice and I hope this is alright to post here! Thanks!

Probably a very obvious question, but I always wondered if there is a list/diagram of when/where earth's stargates are. As far as I understand it, things are as follows:
- the show starts with the Ra-gate in Cheyenne Mountain and the beta-gate frozen in antarctica ("Solitudes" S01e18).
- at the end of season 1, Apophis' ship is destroyed in orbit around earth (do we ever find out what happend to the gate that was aboard?).
- at the end of season 3, SG-1 crashes Thor's ship on earth, right after beaming the (Ra-)gate in Cheyenne Mountain aboard to escape last minute. Hammond orders the beta gate to be installed immediately.
- in "Watergate" (S04e07) we learn that the russians have successfully recovered the Ra-gate from Thor's ship (so now the Ra-gate and the beta-gate have effectively swapped places, while Apophis' gate is still just ... somewhere in earth's orbit?).
- at the end of season 5, Anubis destroys the (beta-)gate at Cheyenne Mountain and the 'original' Ra-gate is brought in / bought / leased from the Russians again.
There are smaller incidents in between, like the NID using the gate not currently at the CMC to engage in some otherworldly shenanigans, or a one-episode kidnapping of the CMC-gate in "Endgame" (S08e10), but no fundamental changes as to who control which earth-gate where and when ... I think.
Did I miss anything? And what happened to Apophis' gate on his ship that was destroyed at the end of season 1??
*quick disclaimer for the nitpicky ones amongst you: yes, I'm aware that most of the fancy plot points at the series finale TECHNICALLY happened at the first episodes of the new season, but I think we can all agree that these big cliffhanger episodes happen 'at the end' of a season. submitted by

I have a lot of thoughts on how Scream 7 will play out, but a lot of this hinges on it being the saga's concluding chapter.
Part of this entails Stu being a killer. If you have already decided this won't be your thing, feel free to move on. I'm just letting you know beforehand.
I think everything done so far in the last two installments have been with total purpose. For one, having so many characters survive this last time. Yes, it subverted expectations, but they will be disposed of now this time around. Mindy will explain rules to one or two people this time in a much more serious/dark tone, where she is confronting her own impending death. "We're in the final chapter. Before, I said that any of us could die. This time, all of us will die. Maybe one or two make it, but at the end of this there will be more fallen than there will be standing. There won't be a place anymore in the story for someone like myself." And yes, Mindy this time will be killed, as will Chad. I imagine they will be killed together.
Another item of intent was not just the characters surviving, but them surviving in ridiculous ways. It begins to give credence as to how Stu could have survived the fallen television. The world builds plausibility around that notion, and it's likely someone will even comment on the fact after he is revealed. In fact, one of the rules will likely be how they go so late in the franchise as to jump the shark to include things that the original film never would have considered, whether it's Michael Myers in Resurrection, the superhero-like personas of the Fast & Furious characters, or Lord Palpatine's return in The Rise of Skywalker. This once again paves way for Stu's comeback.
As for Stu himself, I previously thought that he wasn't necessarily a killer, but actually alive and imprisoned, and everybody knew about it. It wasn't until this film that his deceased status has even been brought up, so it definitely kicks around some thoughts of mine. Regardless, they are reintroducing his name and character back into the films. I don't think it's an accident that he was referenced in Scream (2022):
- As a trivia answer
- As a relative to one of the victims
- In conversation regarding past killings
- In a YouTube video suggestion
- With his home setting
And in Scream VI, they may say that he is dead, but even Kirby/Mindy (?) says "If you believe that." One could say this is a wink to the wild speculators, but another says this is a conspiracy with a door ajar to it. This could all be planting seeds. My thought though is that these guys have a plan for where they want to finish things off. I'm willing to bet they wouldn't have been handed the keys unless their pitch covered a story arc of three films, and it makes me wonder if those plans include Stu.
I also firmly believe that Stu attacked Tara, killed Dewey and then attacked Gale in VI. Let's start with Tara: Amber clearly didn't film herself, Richie was out of the area (though he can very much logically make the drive I believe they gave him this alibi), and Stu would make references to the original film and himself in trivia. He has clamored about carrying on the legacy in Scream (1996) and having sequels, which is what Amber and Richie were all about. Then before attempting to attack Tara again, GF says that Sam is too weak for the franchise, perhaps indicating that she isn't final girl material like Sidney was. Then let's move to Dewey quickly, having the size to lift him the way that he was lifted, and deeming it an honor to have killed him (having stabbed him back in the first film). I don't remember the full conversation with Gale in VI, but I know that GF overtook her boyfriend easily and also mentioned about never having a conversation with her. We can of course chalk that up to GF being an idea rather than one person, but also Stu not having called her in the past 27 years. I think GF also says something like "There hasn't been one like me." Who, like Quinn? Fucking Quinn? Fuck no, man. Stu! There hasn't been one like Stu! I forget the entire exchange, but it was just more breadcrumbs.
Now, I don't know how other aspects will play out, but clearly Sam's psychotic undertones will continue to be explored, and her mom definitely has to be explained away or introduced, which obviously brings back Sidney. In fact, stacking up against all of the characters who need to die in this final chapter, I wouldn't expect really any major new characters to be introduced who haven't been brought up before. Sidney, Gale, Stu, Mark, Martha, Sam, Tara, Mindy, Chad, Kirby, Danny, Mrs. Carpenter, shit even Angelina... these are your players for the final film. Many of these folks will die, and some will be revealed as killers. For all we know, it's Stu and Angelina, or Stu and Mrs. Carpenter, or Stu and Sam going at Sidney, or Stu alone... I mean I don't really have that aspect covered fully. But introducing somebody in a seventh film to be "behind it all along" who wasn't ever a part of the franchise is not a direction that this franchise should go, which is why it's important that Stu (or a strong connection with Billy) is considered.
And again, I had to shift how Stu would be involved and his perceived status by others, but if they think him dead then clearly he got out somehow. His parents are well off and maybe good ol' Sheriff Burke helped conceal his death by swapping bodies. Once again, this was just shown to happen in Scream VI with Quinn and her father... they are laying the groundwork, people!
In the end, I firmly believe it will be Sidney and Stu facing off. There are so many subplots that will happen in between, but this is where it needs to lead to.
If there are future films, it will be very much like the TV series but in the same universe with new characters and a newly inspired GF, playing the spinoff idea from Stab to something else.
It's fine if you disagree with any or all of this, but to think that this meta film franchise can't and won't pull any of this off due to what I mentioned above is not paying attention to the details provided. It could be for show, but it could also very much happen and I'm just preparing you all for it.

Hey Everyone, I'm trying to fix some small rock chips on my 2016 Honda Civic. I watched hours and hours of videos on how to touch up these spots correctly. Here is my story.
I was rear ended in a parking lot in January. I had my bumper replaced and trunk repaired by a local body shop. They gave me a small bottle of the factory paint for my car that they used to paint my bumper. The color matches perfect.
I decided to learn how to repair rock chips since I had the small bottle of factory paint. After studying and buying some products I did the following. Sanded the rock chip spot down with a 1500 gritt sandpaper and soapy water, washed the area with soap and water, then rubbing alcohol. I then applied a tiny dot onto the spot, used a heat gun on low to help dry and prevent dripping. 2 days I let it cure, and went back to sand at 1500, then at 2000. The paint is flush, but color is not matching, even though its the factory color. I polished the car with a buffing machine, used wax, etc. Its smooth and shiny, metal is no longer showing, but the spot is clearly touched up. It just looks like a dull version of my car color. Every video I watched looked 20x better than what I come up with. I've tried it on a few other areas with the same result. I am under no impression that it will look like new but from every example I've seen it is close. This is like I used the wrong color but I'm positive I did not. It doesn't blend in with the color around it and stands out.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi there.
So, I am currently an undergraduate junior looking towards pursuing a PhD in CMV while performing research in virology. At the moment, I am concerned with asking my current PI for a recommendation letter for this next cycle because I do not think of him as a good reference. He is not understanding or present in lab, he is rather condescending when you fail, and the co-PI is an absolute bully to others. Additionally, he refused to be my advisor for graduation capstone project even though I am an associate within his lab. For me, this is behavior I was raised to resent and never reciprocate, so I will not be asking my PI for a letter of recommendation. Still, this lab is involved with virology/immunology and I am learning techniques/procedures for interesting topics, but I do not see future where I will ask my PI for an LOR.
Luckily, I am currently accepted to attend the Pitt SURP program and study virology with a new lab setting, so I am hoping to really work my rear-end off. My goal is to really highlight my work-ethic and willingness to learn so that I can find a PI I feel comfortable asking for a reference (and hopefully a great PI that I'll know I can trust, admire, and possibly work for).
Would it be a red flag if I present a recommendation letter from a summer internship and not one from my current PI? This is concerning me because I desire the chance to start my PhD right after undergraduate, but afraid not having an LOR from my current PI will hinder this opportunity. Any advice or help will be absolutely wonderful as I am panicking my butt off.

Posting this here as I get ready to swap the first set of tires off my newly built hardtail and look for the next combination.
Background: over Christmas I built my first hardtail from the frame up. The main purpose of this bike was to replace my gravel bike. I know I'm going to confuse some people here with this objective, but I have a lot of fun on my local canal training rides playing on side hits and all that. I decided I would be better off on a playful hardtail that I can train on, do some bikepacking, enter some XC races for fun, and otherwise do everything that my 145mm All Mountain full sus isn't meant for.
The bike is a 2023 Kona Honzo ST frame running full 29" wheels with a 2.35 Ikon rear tire and 2.35 Forekaster front, Pike 140mm fork, and SRAM GX. It's mainly built to closely mirror the setup on my trail bike to provide a solid training platform, and the carryover so far has been stellar. Up to this point I've got ~750 miles on it and I'm getting close to the point of needing to change tires due to the mixed use of my typical riding. To be fair, I really liked this setup because it's fast rolling, relatively light, but would handle all the different riding styles and surfaces I encounter with relative ease. It's a bit more loose than the DHR II front and rear combo on my Hightower, but I like it that way because it allows me to better learn the limits of tires when I'm riding lower consequence stuff on the hardtail. That said, I'm always looking for places to optimize my setup and not having a lot of personal data on other tire models and manufacturers, I figure I'll take the opportunity to consider trying something new.
Goal: For this next set I'm looking for a setup that stays within the 2.35 width range, is fast rolling to keep my tempo up on flat training rides, has decent protection for when I venture off onto my local desert XC trails full of pokey and scratchy things, and won't hold me back too much when it's time to rail some berms, small jumps / hits and flow trail. One more goal I'm looking for is a setup that has a tread compound meant to last a good while. I understand I'm decreasing the tread life when I ride paved stuff on the canals when I can't opt for a dirt section, but hoping for a setup that'll take me further than 800-1000 miles before swapping out. I'm tempted to throw a Rekon into the mix because I've heard decent things about using it as either a front or rear tire, the new Forekaster looks pretty sweet but a bit more trail focused than the original, but I'm not tied to Maxxis and open to options.
Anyone out there have suggestions based on experience with different tires and setups? That ks in advance!

-I’m still very suspicious of Adam, the rear ending seemed like a set up, and did he really just happen to bump into her at the hotel? Too coincidental for me. I hope we’ll get more info in season 2.
-what was Misty’s plan if Jessica roberts never smoked the cigarette or noticed they were missing from her purse? I think Jessica roberts seemed smarter than that, keep it moving lady, get out safely, don’t even mention the cigarettes, just get a new pack.
-how long were they supposed to be at nationals? Lottie only had a 3 day supply of medicine? I know she would have run out eventually anyways but it seemed like she took her last pill before they left to find the lake.

Hello,
I have the Backfire zealot with the surf and rail adapter. It's a bit too high so I'm doing a deck swap with a drop deck. I was also planning on swapping the motor mounts since the zealot motor mounts scrape against the rail adapter if you don't use risers.
My end goal is a full custom setup, but right now I wanted to upgrade each equipment piece by piece.
Will this setup let me upgrade to a full DIY setup down the line?
- Deck swap the zealot with the landyatchz EVO 40 SPECTRUM (or anything similar) The surf adapters already add a bit of height so clearance won't be an issue
- switch the motor mounts to TB V7 motor mounts
- swap revel snugs with hollow wheels (the snugs are too damn heavy)

I drive for Instacart, DD and UE on and off, on my spare time and when I need a bit of extra cash. I actually enjoy driving because it gives me alone time, thinking time, and money while I drive.
Saturday night I got in a car accident. I wasn't driving food around, it was a personal trip. I'm okay, just sore, and my wife in the car with me is also fine and also sore. I was coming off a highway and stopped on the offramp in a line of cars, and looking in my rearview I saw an SUV hauling literal ass and hit my rear-end. Today my insurance called and said that my car is most likely going to be a total loss.
The only things on my mind were: I hope my wife isn't in any pain; and I hope I am able to financially overcome all of this (despite having insurance, finances has always been an anxiety point for me); and This could be the end of my courier days.
I consider this my newfound appreciation for all of you couriers. One accident like mine, where your vehicle is totalled, could mean the end of your line of work - nevermind the possibilities of an injury. Insurance covers stuff sure, but will it get you a new vehicle? Will it cover your driver wages? For those of you that drive full-time, that could destroy your liveliood and sustenance. This isn't made to scare anyone, it's just something that's been on my mind since I got hit.
That's it. I've always tipped well on my food orders but from now on I'll tip better. You matter, and your work matters too, and I know for a fact it's tough getting tipless, low-balled offers. So stay safe, drive carefully, and always watch your rearview mirror. Much love for all of you <3
