2023.06.03 22:49 SuicideG-59 New to the area and would like some Gym recommendations!
I just recently moved here and I’m looking for more of a bodybuilding/powerlifting type of gym. I haven’t necessarily came across that unless there’s hidden gyms here you guys can fill me in on? Anyways so far i’ve only decided to check out 2 gyms which is Brickhouse gym and Fitness Connection. I prefer something more old school and not so heavy on rules and such. What are your thoughts?
For example if possible I would choose a gym such as Stern’s gym in san diego. Best damn gym I have ever been to. Highly recommend watching the 20 minute documentary on youtube posted by “MUTANT TV”

2023.06.03 22:46 kendahlj Does anyone know anything about the NFL Marketcom Series C 1982 set?
| I picked up a sealed pack of these cards this morning at a yard sale. Looks like it was a set of 48 cards. I don't know if what I have is a full set of just some random cards. The top player isn't number 1 but the bottom player is 48, which makes it confusing. Don't want to break the shrink wrap to find out... 2023.06.03 22:27 imsorood Can I afford $3,000/mo rent?
Hi! Would love to get opinions from this sub. I'm trying to figure out if I should splurge a little bit and get an apartment that is $3,000/mo.
Some context:
- I make around $150,000/yr (not including bonus)
- Monthly take-home after taxes, insurance, and 401k contribution is $8,500~
- My expenses (minus rent) are around $1,000/mo (groceries + car insurance mostly)
- I have $40k~ cash and another $65k in investments (mostly index funds)
- Student loans are < $10k and payments start this month
- No credit card debt
- Live in HCOL city (think Seattle / San Francisco / San Diego / New York)
- There are no significant purchases coming up
My fiancé isn't working right now, but will begin in the next year (she has to finish a year-long credential program). Her salary will be around 60-70k/yr when she starts. She'll probably work part-time this year, but trying not to depend on that.
$3,000 is 35%~ of my take-home. Is it okay to splurge a little bit to get the place we really want? I wanted to keep our apartment under 30% of our monthly take-home so we can continue saving for a down-payment on a house, but I'm having a hard time finding places < $3k/mo that we really like.
Would appreciate thoughts/opinions! Thank you!

2023.06.03 22:24 ZionLion23 CA Non US citizen requirements for civil marriage?
I will be getting married to my lovely Venezuelan fiancé in 2 days and then we will begin the adjustment of status.
My only question is what will she (Non US citizen) require for the actual marriage at the courthouse? (San Diego, CA)
I really don’t want to show up have them tell us we don’t have the necessary documents. I have enough going on with all this I-145, I-130 crap.

2023.06.03 22:23 Unmasked_the_Dee Who survived Frisk up to the very end of the Genocide route?
So we all know Undertale's Genocide (or No Mercy) route, featuring one of the toughest bosses in the game. You can only achieve this by, welp. committing genocide. Frisk wasn't able to kill all monsters though. Many evacuated, and were never encountered.
As far as I know, the following monsters survived:
Alphys, helping most remaining monsters evacuating.
the numerous spiders keeping Muffet company.
amalgamates, only encountered in the true pacifist route.
Sans (probably), the last line of defense for the residents in the Underground. Got stabbed, but I think he's still alive, or heavily wounded?
Anyone knows other monsters that survived?

2023.06.03 22:22 thatkidgio Gun show san diego
Honestly it was such a let down. Last show I went to in san diego was at the del mar fair grounds back in 2019. It was a decent turn around with several vendors for ammo and what not. First one back and and it was pretty much dead. Center table with 80% used mags where being sold for more than new prices. The one and only ammo vendor had inventory but had reman ammo priced at higher than new ammo…. Glad I was able to support and will continue to support.

2023.06.03 22:19 IjikaYagami Which US Cities will likely stagnate or fall behind for transit and urbanism in the coming decades?
Earlier I asked a
question asking which cities will improve for transit and urbanism in the coming decades, now I want to ask on the flipside: which cities will likely not improve or even fall behind?
Texas is still a red state for the foreseeable future, so Dallas and Houston I'm pessimistic about. Imo Phoenix will likely remain bad for a while too, but one city I really feel will also fall behind is San Diego.
As someone who currently lives in San Diego, I can say firsthand that it's much more conservative than Los Angeles and the Bay Area are, and unlike LA, San Diego has failed to pass any tax measures to fund Trolley and transit expansions. While LA and Seattle both successfully passed transit tax measures during the 2016 election, San Diego's measure failed by a sizable margin, and similar measures in 2020 and 2022 didn't even make the ballot, so now the system's basically just stuck and can't expand for the foreseeable future.

2023.06.03 21:52 essbie_ In San Diego we had one of the grayest of Mays on record—the cloudiest in the lower 48—and it affects the big booty baby too. She happily soaked up the sun we finally got.
2023.06.03 21:47 AudienceParticular22 Middle to Northern CA trip - suggestions
Hi, Please excuse the broadness of my question here. I'll try to give enough detail to make it answerable.
I've been to Socal a few times. LA once, San Diego twice. Had a good time. Particularly liked La Jolla in SD, where we stayed the last time. Hopefully that helps with the "vibe" we like. We tend to prefer quiet areas, ideally with good dining, and despite not being old, we're not partiers and usually get along just fine amongst affluent senior residents, haha. We also really like to be near beaches/water. We like to be nea visit bars, restaurants, cities, etc but would prefer quiet and subdued over active and loud in terms of lodging.
We're considering a late December trip somewhere, and mid to Northern CA is a contender. We'd like to see the Napa Valley, and I'd really like to drive the PCH down through Big Sur. I'd like to visit some of the rocky beaches, state parks, etc. We'd potentially make some specific, curated stops in the Bay area, but SF doesn't really appeal to me as a place to set up home base for the week. We would definitely be renting a car. I know this isn't an ideal weather time, but it's the only week we can do logistically. Due to the weather, I don't think we'd go too far north, as from what I can tell, it just gets more rainy and stereotypically Pacific North Western this time of the year as you approach Oregon.
Now for my question: given this info about our preferences and the time of year, does anyone have recommendations as to areas we'd want to look into for lodging? We'd be looking for middle of the road lodgings price wise. Probably not under 100/night, definitely not over 250ish/night.
Carmel by the Sea seems no more than a couple hours away from any of the places we'd visit, and it looks like our vibe, although I know it's small and it doesn't look like there's even a ton of basics like restaurants and coffee shops.
I'd love to hear input from others who knows this region of the country.

2023.06.03 21:46 coreyosb Passing thru LA on CA-1 south this afternoon. Recs for tacos + something quick and fun to do nearby?
I’m passing thru to San Diego in the next few hrs following CA-1 and wanna land near a beach area for some good tacos and to walk/bike/beach around after or to find a quick fun experience nearby before continuing on. Where do you recommend that isn’t overly touristy and is pleasant to walk around? Thanks!

2023.06.03 21:36 Alwayssleepee Things that drive me nuts
-Brooke’s boobs aren’t even that big. - When they talk about having to maximize space in their nyc apartments. I’ve never had an apt the size of there’s in any city I’ve lived (Austin, San Diego, Seattle) made since in brooke’s old nyc apt but not this one. - The face gym. - Their “busy” days. I’ve done more during my baby’s nap than they do some days.
I’m sure there’s more but I don’t watch religiously like I use to, only when I’m curious to see if they’ve gotten more interesting. They haven’t.
