Rare littlest pet shop

I’ve been having fun creating “new“ scenarios for the B99 squad with AI chatbot. Not sure if anyone likes reading made up stories but visualizing this one really entertained me.
The first is my “script” version. Then the case from Jake’s point of view and then one from Rosa’s.
Script:
Agents Mulder & Scully join Detectives Jake Peralta and Rosa Diaz to solve a case where frogs fell from the sky.
Title: The X-Files: Brooklyn Nine-Nine Crossover
INT. PRECINCT - DAY
Detective JAKE PERALTA is sitting at his desk, eating a bag of chips. Detective ROSA DIAZ walks over.
ROSA DIAZ Peralta, you won't believe what just happened.
JAKE PERALTA What is it, Rosa?
ROSA DIAZ Frogs. Frogs just fell from the sky. Literally.
JAKE PERALTA (eyes wide) Frogs? Falling from the sky? That's insane.
As they ponder the situation, Special Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY from The X-Files enter the precinct, flashing their badges.
FOX MULDER (looking intrigued) I heard there's a case involving some unusual phenomena?
DANA SCULLY (following Mulder) Yes, we're here to investigate the reported frog rain.
JAKE PERALTA (stammering) Uh, hey, I'm Detective Jake Peralta, and this is Detective Rosa Diaz. We didn't call for any X-Files help.
FOX MULDER (sly smile) Sometimes the truth finds its way to us, Detective Peralta. I have a hunch that there's more to this than meets the eye.
DANA SCULLY (resolute) We'll assist you in finding out what's happening. Our expertise lies in investigating the unexplained.
ROSA DIAZ (deadpan) Great. More weirdos.
INT. FROG RAIN SITE - DAY
The group arrives at the location where the frog rain was reported. The ground is littered with frogs of various sizes and colors.
JAKE PERALTA (staring at the frogs) This is unreal. How did they fall from the sky?
FOX MULDER (observing) I suspect some sort of atmospheric anomaly or disturbance. But we won't know for sure until we gather more evidence.

DANA SCULLY (starting to collect samples) Let's begin by examining the frogs and their surroundings. We need to rule out any logical explanations.
JAKE PERALTA (looking at Mulder) Are you thinking extraterrestrial involvement, Mulder?
FOX MULDER (smiling) That's always a possibility, Detective Peralta. However, it could also be a result of a natural phenomenon or a man-made experiment gone wrong.
ROSA DIAZ (skeptical) Or maybe someone dumped a truckload of frogs from a plane. Seems more plausible.
As they continue their investigation, the group interviews witnesses and gathers more information.
INT. PRECINCT - NIGHT
The group assembles in the precinct, going through their findings.
JAKE PERALTA (showing a report) We've interviewed several witnesses who all claimed to see a bright light in the sky just before the frog rain. Some even mentioned hearing strange noises.
DANA SCULLY (pensive) These accounts of a bright light and unusual sounds align with typical UFO encounters. We should investigate further in that direction.
FOX MULDER (agrees) We also found some peculiar biological anomalies in the frogs themselves. It's as if they've been exposed to some unknown substance or energy.
ROSA DIAZ (getting frustrated) Can we skip to the part where we catch the culprits and wrap this up? I'm not a fan of frogs.
JAKE PERALTA (smirking) Alright, Rosa. Let's focus on tracking down any leads related to the light, noises, and any potential experiments in the area.
INT. SECRET LAB - DAY
The group uncovers a hidden laboratory in an abandoned warehouse, filled with strange equipment and scientific apparatus.
JAKE PERALTA (amazed) Whoa, look at all this crazy stuff. It's like we're in a sci-fi movie.
FOX MULDER (examining equipment) This lab seems to be experimenting with interdimensional travel. They might have inadvertently caused the frog rain by disrupting the fabric of reality.
DANA SCULLY (discovering a journal) I found a journal. It appears to contain detailed notes on these experiments. We might find answers here.
As they dig deeper into the lab, they find evidence linking the experiments to a mysterious organization with a hidden agenda.
INT. SHOWDOWN - NIGHT
In a climactic showdown, the group confronts the organization responsible for the frog rain.
JAKE PERALTA (holding his gun) NYPD! Drop your weapons and surrender!
A group of operatives surrounds them, but Mulder and Scully use their skills to outwit them, while Peralta and Diaz provide backup.
Finally, they manage to apprehend the organization's leader, who reveals their motives and the reasons behind the frog rain.
INT. PRECINCT - DAY
Mulder, Scully, Peralta, and Diaz return to the precinct, filing their reports and closing the case.
JAKE PERALTA (relieved) Well, that was something else. Thanks for your help, Mulder and Scully.
FOX MULDER (grinning) No problem, Detective Peralta. It was a pleasure working with you and Diaz.
DANA SCULLY (to Peralta) Remember, the truth is out there. And sometimes, it's stranger than fiction.
As Mulder and Scully prepare to leave, Peralta and Diaz exchange looks, pondering the mysteries that lie beyond their usual cases.
FADE OUT.
Jake’s experience:
It was just another day at the Nine-Nine, filled with the usual chaos and hilarity. But little did I know that things were about to take a wild turn. The precinct received a call about a bizarre incident: frogs falling from the sky. Frogs! I couldn't believe it. This sounded like something straight out of a sci-fi movie.
As the call came in, I was sitting at my desk, indulging in my usual shenanigans. The bullpen erupted into laughter as I performed my "Die Hard" reenactment with a stapler, but the laughter quickly subsided as Captain Holt announced the case. He assigned me and Rosa to work with a couple of federal agents named Mulder and Scully. Apparently, they were experts in dealing with the strange and unexplained.
I was beyond excited. Working with Mulder and Scully? It was like a dream come true. I mean, who wouldn't want to solve a case with the legendary paranormal investigators? But at the same time, I couldn't help but feel a little intimidated. These were the people who had faced aliens, monsters, and government conspiracies. Meanwhile, my biggest concern was finding the perfect nickname for Terry's biceps.
Mulder and Scully arrived at the precinct, and I couldn't help but be starstruck. They had an air of mystery and intrigue about them. Mulder had this intense gaze, always searching for hidden truths, while Scully was a no-nonsense, rational thinker. They were the perfect balance, and I knew we were in good hands.
We sat down in the conference room, surrounded by evidence bags filled with frogs. Mulder began discussing various theories about extraterrestrial activity and government experiments gone wrong, while Scully remained skeptical, leaning towards a more scientific explanation. It was like watching an intense debate between two brilliant minds.
As the discussion continued, I couldn't resist interjecting with my own outlandish ideas. Maybe the frogs were spies from a secret amphibian agency or victims of a teleportation experiment gone awry. Mulder seemed amused by my enthusiasm, but Scully gave me a look that said, "Please, stop."
Together, we began combing through the evidence, interviewing witnesses, and following leads. Mulder and Scully's experience and expertise brought a whole new level of insight to the investigation. They taught us to look beyond the surface, to question everything, and to never rule out the possibility of the extraordinary.
Rosa and I quickly realized that our different approaches to solving cases could actually complement each other. She brought her trademark badassery and razor-sharp instincts, while I brought my boundless energy and willingness to think outside the box. We formed an unlikely but effective partnership.
As the investigation progressed, we uncovered a secret laboratory hidden beneath a seemingly innocent pet store. It turned out that the store owner was conducting bizarre experiments, using a weather-altering device to make the frogs rain from the sky. His motivations? Well, that's a whole other story.
In the end, we apprehended the culprit and restored order to the frog population. Mulder and Scully shared their final insights, leaving us with more questions than answers. It was bittersweet saying goodbye to them, knowing that we had been a part of something truly extraordinary.
Rosa’s experience:
I leaned against my desk, rolling my eyes as I watched Detective Jake Peralta enthusiastically wave a piece of paper in the air. Mulder and Scully from the FBI? Seriously? What kind of case had landed on our doorstep this time? I took a sip of my coffee, bracing myself for whatever bizarre scenario Jake was about to throw at me.
"Rosa, you won't believe this!" Jake exclaimed, bounding over to my desk like an overexcited puppy. "Frogs! Frogs falling from the sky! This case has X-Files written all over it!"
I shot him a skeptical look. "Mulder and Scully? Really, Jake? You think they're going to solve our frog rain mystery?
Jake's eyes lit up, his voice full of childlike wonder. "Think about it, Rosa. Frogs are just dropping out of the sky. It's unexplained, it's weird, it's perfect for the X-Files team. Plus, who wouldn't want to work with the legendary Mulder and Scully?"
I grunted, not exactly convinced. But curiosity got the better of me, and I reluctantly followed Jake to the conference room. As I entered, I saw two figures standing by the whiteboard, deep in conversation. Mulder, a lanky man with an intense gaze, was scribbling something on the board while Scully, a composed redhead, observed him with a mixture of amusement and exasperation.
I took a seat at the table, crossing my arms over my chest. "Alright, Mulder, Scully. What brings you to the Nine-Nine?"
Mulder turned to face me, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. "Detective Diaz, I've heard of your reputation. A tough detective with a sharp mind. I believe our collaboration could yield interesting results. After all, the truth is out there, even in the form of falling amphibians."
I raised an eyebrow, not entirely convinced by his charm. "Fine, Mulder. But I have one condition. No nonsense, no wasting time. We do this my way, got it?"
Mulder nodded, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Agreed, Detective Diaz. We're here to help, not hinder."
I glanced at Scully, who had been quietly observing our exchange. "And you, Scully? Any thoughts on our little froggy situation?"
Scully let out a small chuckle, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "Well, Detective Diaz, I've seen my fair share of strange cases, but this one definitely takes the cake. Let's get to the bottom of it."
With that, our unlikely team was formed. Mulder, Scully, Jake, and me, united in our pursuit of the truth behind the raining frogs. We gathered our evidence, interviewed witnesses, and analyzed the meteorological data, all the while trying to keep Jake's enthusiasm in check.
As the days turned into weeks, our investigation took us down a rabbit hole of government experiments, conspiracy theories, and even ancient myths. Mulder's unorthodox theories and Scully's scientific skepticism clashed with Jake's wild imagination and my unwavering pragmatism. But somehow, amidst the chaos, a strange camaraderie began to form.
Together, we dug deep, uncovering a hidden plot involving weather manipulation and a disgruntled scientist seeking revenge. We confronted the culprits, unraveled their twisted motives, and brought them to justice. And when it was all over, we stood together, victorious.
As Mulder and Scully prepared to leave, I found myself feeling a hint of nostalgia. Despite our differences, our unconventional partnership had been strangely effective. I offered them a rare smile. "Thanks for the help, Mulder, Scully. It's been... interesting."
Mulder grinned, a glimmer of mischief in his eyes. "Likewise, Detective Diaz. Remember, if you ever need assistance with the unexplained, you know where to find us."
I nodded, realizing that even in the face of absurdity, there were connections to be made, friendships to be formed. And as the X-Files agents walked out of the precinct, I couldn't help but think that maybe, just maybe, there was more to this world than met the eye.

This weekend, I was fired from my job at a local fish store over "customer complaints" but the entire situation was sus and tbh I feel like I was just bullied out of that place. Starting from the beginning, this is probably gonna be a jumbled mess with lots of typos, get ready.
I started working there in late January, and started noticing some things were off with the company, a mom and pop pet shop with a few locations in my state. The first sign was during the interview, when after I confessed to having social anxiety, the manager seemed annoyed and said that although I got the job, he was going to be paying an extra close eye on me to make sure I'm greeting all the customers, and if he sees me miss anyone, I'll be let go. I was intimidated of course, but because I really wanted this job, I told myself to be extra careful to greet everyone and forgot about it. Cut to the first day, not much actual training, I get shown the fish room and am briefly told how to close, but not really actually shown how to do it. Later, my first night closing, i'm working with one other person that night, i'll call him Joe. Joe usually closes by himself. Time to close hits, and I can't fucking find joe anywhere. I freak out, because I've never closed before, was only briefly explained how to do so, and if I fuck it up, I could flood the entire store. No pressure. I calm down, do my best to close on my own, than I find a manager and say that idk where joe is, but I need somebody to check and make sure I did everything right, because I'll be damned if I'm flooding this place my first night. Manager doesn't seem bothered at all by the fact that joe left me to close like that, and must not have ever said anything to him, because he did it again the next night, though I had gotten the hang of closing by then so it wasn't really an issue. Few weeks go by, I get called into the managers office and told that im not meeting expectations, I don't seem to know what to do, if i don't change they're gonna let me go, that sorta thing. In my head, all I can think is "well duh, I was barely trained! Silly! Thats why I don't know what I'm doing!" But of course, I keep my mouth shut, and promise I'll do better. The next day, I ask the manager if I can train with somebody else, because I don't really think its working with joe. I don't elaborate further. Manager says ok and I start training with another guy, frank. Frank does kinda train me, but still not really. This becomes a reoccurring problem at the job, I'll be told to do things with little or no explanation on how to do it, then be scolded for not doing it correctly, or fast enough, etc. On top of this, I get the growing feeling that im not wanted in this store. None of my coworkers, save for one girl who works Saturdays only, would ever really try to talk to me, unless of course they were telling me to do something. Furthermore, some people would even seem irritated by me just simply existing, even people in other departments who barely see me. As I said in the beginning, I have social anxiety, so although I found it unsettling, I ignored it, because I'm here to work, not make friends, right? I should add that I'm a trans man, so its definitely possible that they could have simply not liked me for that but idk, because the company itself supports the lgbt, sells pride merchandise, etc. Anyway, slowly but surely, it reaches a point where I feel isolated from my coworkers, because almost none of them talk to me, some seem to straight up dislike me, so I become miserable and anxious at work, even though the job itself i loved. Meanwhile, every little mistake i make i get in trouble for, nothing is too small. I was once written up for not sweeping under the tanks, even though i originally was until a coworker told me not to because I was gonna make the bugs comes out from under. I'm criticized for not keeping busy, despite the fact that I literally fucking do not stop working until time to go, and 15 feet away from me, my coworkers are fucking around, socializing, or nowhere to be found. They rarely greet customers, only when the customer greets them first, meanwhile I'm running around doing shit and still managing to greet everyone. There was also a lot of miscommunication, a coworker would tell me a fish wasn't for sale because it was sick, then another would get mad at me for refusing to sell it to somebody because it was healthy. Shit was infuriating to say the least. Finally, the Saturday before last comes, I get pulled into the office and written up, because apparently I forgot to greet a customer, and they complained to management. I'm angry but I sign and go back to working. Next Saturday comes, and while cleaning betta tanks, my manager comes and says that because its been slow, im free to leave early, but I have to talk to him in his office first. He fires me, because I forgot to greet a 2nd customer, and they complained. I ask if they can show me the complaints and he says no because they were verbal complaints so there's no record of them. No exit interview, no papers to sign, I get told to come back in 2 days and get my check. Two days go by so I stop to get it, and the manager gets piseed at me for coming because he already mailed it to my address. Ok whatever asshole. My check comes, and it could not have been more obvious that it was a check on the outside. I was a little annoyed by that since it could easily have been stolen, but whatever, what really bugs me, is that my fucking address was misspelled, so it could easily have been sent to the wrong address on top of already being obviously a check. Honestly I'm surprised it even made it. How fucking lazy and careless do you gotta be to send it like that tho? Come on. Honestly really wanted that job and I'm sad to go, but God damn wtf? Do I have any ground to stand on if I try to sue?

My wife and I have been together for 7 years and married for 2. We started out as friends with benefits straight out of high school and have been together ever since.
She was the love of my life, my best friend. I’m young at 24 and 22 is young for marriage sure, but we’d been together for nearly 5 years at that point so we thought what the hell, neither of us saw us breaking up.
I truly thought our relationship was perfect. We rarely fought, and if we did it was normally settled quickly and reasonably. The only true stresser in our lives was finances. We bought a house together just before marriage after living in an apartment together for a year.
She’s been kind of distant lately, I tried reaching out, do what I could to make plans to spend time together at least once a week. She kept pushing me off, missing our us time. I thought it was just because she was busy. She works 2 jobs and is trying to go back to school. (I tried to talk her out of it, I felt she was putting too much stress on herself, if not school then at least quit one of her jobs, she didn’t need to work both)
We just celebrated our 2 year anniversary on may 16th. Her family (who loved me and I them) paid for us to go on a cruise to the Bahamas. I thought we were having a great time until half way through it she told me she wasn’t happy anymore. That she hadn’t been happy for a year now. She was surprised when I said that I was happy, that I didn’t want to lose her and I didn’t understand when this was coming from.
We talked for awhile. I thought we had agreed to try and work it out. Find why she isn’t happy and improve our lives together. But right when we got back from the cruise, nothing had changed. She just gave up on the relationship. I told her I wouldn’t fight, if she’s truly not happy then I’m not going to force her to stay in a relationship. But I’m so lost. She gave up on our relationship. On our lives and home that we’ve spent nearly a decade building together.
I don’t understand where we went wrong and I don’t know what I could have done differently. She swears there isn’t someone else and I’m inclined to believe her. But I don’t know why she would do this. Why she’d throw away our marriage without ever making an attempt at fixing it.
But even if she came back to me today, and said April fools. That’s it, I can’t go back. I would spend the rest of our lives wondering if she was really happy to be with me. If she really wanted to be together.
She pressured us to get more pets. To start trying for kids before all this. Thank god we didn’t.
It’s been getting harder and harder to get out of bed. To go to work everyday. I know I have to keep going and I know I have to take this opportunity to do better. I know I’m young and I’ll find someone. But I feel so broken. I refuse to fill the hole with alcohol or drugs. Im trying to stay productive, but I just keep spiraling. Catching myself with panic attacks to where I can’t breathe. On the verge of tears randomly at work. It’s hard to keep going, but I know things will get better eventually. I just don’t know if I’ll ever be able to trust a relationship again and that might be the hardest part.

We are currently working on building the largest Cross Platform (Java and Bedrock) MMORPG experience in Minecraft to date called Heart Of Ender. Bootlegs
Any collection posts containing bootlegs, comments advocating buying bootlegs, or links to sites selling bootlegs, recasts, or unlicensed merchandise will be removed.
People often ask about the legitimacy and/or safety of a number of websites which sell large resin statues. The more commonly-asked of those deal primarily in resins from studios which do not have a license from the Japanese IP holders to produce merchandise. Therefore links to those sites are not permitted here. Another sign is if MyFigureCollection doesn't list the either the statue, its manufacturer, or the shop it's being sold on.

Buying & Shipping

1. What’s the best place to buy my anime figures from?
That’s going to depend a lot on what works for you, but most people around here buy them from Amiami, Big in Japan, Hobby Search, HobbyLink Japan, or Tokyo Otaku Mode. If none of those work for you for whatever reason, there’s a list of reputable retailers in the sidebar that you can check out at any time. Be extra careful when ordering figures from websites like Amazon or ebay, as there are a lot of bootlegs on those sites. Don’t be afraid to ask in our Bootleg Megathread if you’re unsure.
2. What differences are there between the shipping options I get from most Japanese shops?
Below is a rundown of the main shipping choices you’ll get at most retailers. Keep in mind that if an order is large enough you will be forced to use one of the more expensive options, as SAL shipments have lower size and weight restrictions.

• Unregistered SAL: Sometimes referred to as uSAL, is usually the cheapest method. It does not come with any tracking or insurance. Usually takes up 2-4 weeks for delivery.
• Registered SAL: Sometimes referred to as rSAL, is insured for the declared value up to 6,000 yen. It comes with a tracking number and usually takes 2-4 weeks for delivery.
• EMS: This method of shipping is much faster than either SAL options, usually arriving within a week of shipment. EMS shipments are insured for the declared value up to 2,000,000 yen.
• Airmail
• E-packet
• Surface: Shops don't offer this very often. It's an actual cargo ship and slow as a result.
  
• DHL: Becoming more available as an alternative to EMS on AmiAmi and other sites. Can be less expensive than EMS and of comparable speed, but may be more reliant on the specific geographical area being shipped to. The price is also determined by the size of the box. Offers their own tracking.
  

3. I placed two+ orders for figures at different times. Will my items be shipped together, or will I have to pay shipping twice?
Most shops will ask you to pay shipping on a per-order basis, but here are some that will allow combined shipping:

• Amiami: You can combine orders here, as long as the orders ship in the same month. It doesn’t matter if the item is new or preowned. Any preorders that are set for that month can also be combined with other orders for that month. However, be aware that if the preorder gets delayed, Amiami will remove that item from that month’s shipment and place it on a new order. To combine orders on Amiami, use the “Combine Orders” feature under “My Account”.
  
• Hobby Search: Hobby Search will let you combine orders that release in the same month, but you cannot combine in stock items with preorders. If you want to combine multiple preorders, or multiple in stock items, you can do so using the “Order Recombination” feature on your account page.
  
• HobbyLink Japan: At HLJ, you have the option to send paid orders to their “Private Warehouse”, where you can store them for up to 2 months. When you’re ready to ship the items, you simply select which items to ship and HLJ will combine them into one shipment for you. To use this, just select the “Private Warehouse” option as shipping when you order.
  

If you’re unsure about whether or not a shop we haven’t listed will combine your orders, please refer to their individual FAQs.
4. When will I get charged for my preorder?
Most Japanese shops charge you once the item is in stock and ready for shipment. When that happens, they will send you an email asking for payment. Some shops (mostly overseas ones), will allow you to pay for the item up front though, if you’d like. A few with that option are:

• Big in Japan (Japanese store)
• Tokyo Otaku Mode
• Anime Island
• Crunchyroll

Keep in mind that overseas stores will likely get the figure a few months after Japanese ones, so pay attention to the release date stated on the website you are buying from so as to avoid that confusion.
5. Should I expect to pay customs fees when importing figures?
That depends on where you live. Here’s a quick rundown:

• Australia: 10% GST is now assessed up front.
• Canada: Minimum declared value for charges is around CAD$20 for regular shipments, and CAD$60 for gifts (gifting something only seems to lower the declared value by about CAD$40, not deplete it completely). When using Amiami, try their Small Air Packet option. It comes with tracking, gets there in about the same time as EMS, and is better at avoiding customs.
• European Union: As of 1st July 2021, VAT has to be paid on all goods imported from outside of the EU. Retailers are supposed charge VAT for purchases under €150, however many Japanese retailers currently do not, so VAT will be charged when your order arrives in the EU. Orders that are >€150, VAT and duty will be charged by your local customs.
• UK: As of 1st January 2021, VAT is to be charged by retailers for orders <£135. However, customs isn't currently charging VAT on parcels valued at <£135, even if the VAT hasn't been paid. Goods >£135 will have their VAT and duty calculated and charged by customs.
• Mexico: Minimum declared value for customs fees is USD$300 for shipments by post, and USD$50 for shipments by courier.
• United States: A shipment has to have a declared value of USD$2,000 before customs starts hitting you with fees, so you most likely won’t have to worry about them at all.

6. The figure I want is an exclusive, how do I go about ordering one outside of Japan?
You have three options for this:
A. Big in Japan is known to stock exclusive figures and ship to other countries. Usually the price is higher because they build in their proxy fees, but it’s easier than worrying about using a forwarder or proxy service. If you live in the US, Crunchyroll, Right Stuf, and Tokyo Otaku Mode also get exclusives sometimes, but out of the states the shipping can get expensive.
B. Forwarding Services: A forwarder is someone who you ship an exclusive item to so that they can forward the package on to you, usually for a flat fee + shipping. When using a forwarder you still make the purchase yourself, and enter their address into the shipping field. When the box arrives at the forwarder they will then stick your address onto the package and send it on its way.
Some popular forwarders are:

• Big in Japan
• Tenso

Be sure to read each sites instructions on forwarding carefully!
C. Proxy Services: With a proxy, you tell them what the item you’re looking for is and they will purchase it in your stead. This is handy for when a company doesn’t accept foreign credit cards, or you’re having trouble navigating a Japanese website.
Some popular proxies are:

• Big in Japan (Won’t proxy for Yahoo Auctions)
• From Japan

Again, be sure you thoroughly read through each sites proxy instructions.
7. I see a bunch of really cheap figures that ship from China on ebay. Are those okay to buy?
Generally, no. They’re most likely bootlegs. If you want a second opinion on that, feel free to ask in the Bootleg Megathread that’s always stickied at the top of the sub.
8. What’s a bootleg, and how can I avoid buying them?
A bootleg is a counterfeit figure often made using rejected molds of the official product. They are usually priced significantly lower than the genuine article, and in order to make their profit, bootleggers use lower quality materials and have less attention to detail- resulting in a substandard figure.
The Bootleg Megathread that I mentioned in question 7 is a great tool to avoid buying any bootlegs. It has a few tips and tricks to avoiding them to begin with, and a few more on how to spot them if you’re worried you might already own one.
9. Does anyone know when figure X is going to be released? How do I know if it was delayed?
My Figure Collection (sometimes referred to as MFC) does an excellent job of staying on top of information like release dates and delays. If you’re curious about an upcoming figures release date, check there first. This information can be found directly under the “Releases” section on a figure’s entry. If you only see a month and a year in that section, it means the release date has not yet been announced by the manufacturer, and there is still a chance the figure could be delayed.
If you make an account on MFC you can also subscribe to comments, changes, and pictures via a checkbox on the right hand side of a figure’s listing. Subscribing to any of these things will allow MFC to send you an email anytime the subscription in question updates. Subscribing to “changes” is a great way to keep up with release dates and delays, among other things.
10. The figure I want is long sold out at normal retailers! What’s the best place to pick it up in the aftermarket?
A list of reputable retailers can be found under the “Shops” section of the /AnimeFigures sidebar. They all sell legitimate products, and many of them also sell figures second hand. However, the most frequently suggested second hand sites are Mandarake and Amiami- who has a preowned section that they update every night save Sundays and Japanese holidays around 1PM JST and again around 6PM JST.
AmiAmi grades their pre-owned items on a letter scale. The general consensus from buyers is that their ratings are conservative, so unless the item and/or packaging is specifically indicated as having significant flaws, pre-owned items from them are usually in at least as good a condition as their rating suggests.
Note: When you search Mandarake, you’ll get the best results by using the Japanese characters for whatever you are searching. If you don’t know them, you can find them on MFC by clicking on any of the “details” in that figure’s listing.
11. Amiami has a figure I’m interested in labeled as “For sale in Japan only”. Does this mean I can’t order it without a proxy or forwarder?
No, you can still order it. Amiami’s English site has that warning on many items, and it’s mostly meant to inform you that this product was made for a Japanese market, and as such, will have Japanese speaking/writing in it- so don’t expect any instructions to be in English. If Amiami doesn’t want foreigners buying a certain product, they won’t even list it on their English site.

Displaying Your Figures

12. What display cases do you recommend?
If you live near an Ikea try out one of these:

• Detolf *
• Klingsbo
• Billy (Often used with Morliden doors and glass shelves.)

*If you decided on a Detolf, you might find that there is a lot of wasted space. Here are a few tutorials on raising the shelves or and adding extra ones in.

• Using metal clips
• Using acrylic supports and PVC pipe

If you don’t live near an Ikea, Amazon has a few display options, though they are more expensive. Also keep an eye on your local Craigslist (or your country’s equivalent) and stores near you that are closing up.
13. What lighting do you guys recommend?
Ikea’s Dioder LED strips were discontinued after a long run. A current version is the Vattensten, if you're inclined to buy your case and lights at the same time.
LED strips have become very commonly available in recent years; most hardware and home furnishing stores carry a selection now. Just make sure that the lights don’t get too hot!
14. What are those clear plastic boxes that I see under everyone’s figures in their collection posts, and where can I get them?
Those are called risers. Most of us use standard acrylic risers like these. Some other, easy to find things that have been suggested are:

• Plastic picture cubes
• Card Deck Boxes
• If you’re feeling adventurous, try making your own!

Check your local hobby store for the first 2 options, or your local hardware store if you want to make your own.
Another common suggestion is to visit The Container Store if you have one near you. They have a lot of things to choose from that can suit a variety of needs. Be sure to check out their standard acrylic risers, their Amac boxes, and the various display cases they sell (baseball cases, mini car cases. hockey puck cases, etc).
15. Should I keep my figures sealed?
That is, of course, up to you really, but here are a few things to keep in mind when debating this question:

• Keeping it sealed can actually damage your figure. PVC figures usually have something called plasticizer in them, and that plasticizer needs to be able to breath. If a PVC figure isn’t exposed to oxygen, after a period of time the plasticizer starts to break down and form a sticky substance on the surface of the figure. Simply opening your figures and taking them out of the box prevents this from happening. If you happen to find plasticizer goo on one of your figures, Kahotan has a handy guide for dealing with it.
• Unlike some other figure markets, keeping an anime figure sealed won’t raise its value by a whole lot. In fact, because of the plasticizer problem mentioned above, your figure could actually be in better condition if you open it versus keeping it sealed.

Finding the Right Figure(s) for You

16. What are "scales" and "prizes"? What is the difference between them?
Those are classifications for figures based on a few factors.

• "Prizes" are generally more simply produced figures which are intended to be given as prizes for playing arcade games. They are inexpensive and lack the detail of scale figures, though some prize figure lines have standouts which may approach lower-end scales in quality. That is uncommon and often depends on the individual figure.
• "Scales" are called such because they are nominally designed to be proportional to the dimensions of the character which they are based on. They are generally of much better manufacture and materials than prize figures, allowing for more detail in painting, accessories, or complex poses.
• "Trading" figures appear in gashapon machines or as blind boxes on shop counters, often as sets which include multiple characters. As suggested by the class name, the randomness encourages trading. They are usually very inexpensively-produced, though as with prizes, some series are better than others.
• "Non-scale" encompasses a variety of other categories. It is often used to describe poseable figure lines such as figma and Nendoroids.

In recent years producers such as Good Smile Company attempted to further bridge the gap between prize quality and scales by introducing figure lines which are intended to be moderately-priced while retaining a higher level of detail than the typical prize figure, to varying levels of success.
17. There are so many figure companies! Who makes good figures?!
Obviously this is a very subjective question, but as a general starting point, here are a few well renowned figure companies:

• Alter
• Max Factory
• Good Smile Company
• Kotobukiya (usually hit or miss for people. Use your best judgement based off of the prototype)
• Flare
• Stronger

18. I really love “series X / character X”- how can I check if any figures were ever made for it?
My Figure Collection can be your best friend here. Simply do a search on the name of the series or character using the search bar located at the top right of the screen, and all associated figures pop up!
Alternatively, if you’re looking at a figure’s MFC entry, most of the text under the “Details” section can be clicked on and used to run a search.
19. How can I commission a custom figure?
None of the major figure companies (Alter, Kotobukiya, Good Smile Company, etc.) will take a commission for a single figure. This thread has a few websites in it that you can check out, or you can look into garage kits. Some kit painters would be willing to resculpt, frankenstein together, or otherwise modify kits for the right price.

Keeping Up with New Announcements

20. How can I keep up with figure news (announcements, updates, etc.)?
Most people use a MFC combined with any or all of the following news sites:

• Neko Magic
• Alter’s Blog (In Japanese)
• Kahotan’s Blog (Only GSC and their sister companies)

Many figure companies are active on Twitter, so following them there is recommended for quicker news.
To use MFC for this I’ll quote question #9.

21. Everyone’s excited about something called Wonfes….. what the heck is that?!
WonFes (short for Wonder Festival) is a biannual figure expo where many figure producers (both large and small) show off new sculpts and updates to figures already under way. Most companies save their most exciting announcements for WonFes, so we all look forward to the expo whenever it rolls around! Winter Wonder Festival is usually held in February, while Summer Wonder Festival is usually in July. The event has also spread to Shanghai, in the late spring.
22. One or two (or 15) figures were announced at WonFes that I’m really excited about! How can I keep track of their progress once the event is over?
MFC is always really quick about getting new WonFes announcements (or any others throughout the year, for that matter) listed in their database, so we suggest using that. To find a figure from the event you can search any number of things, including the name of the character or the name of the show. You can also use the tag search to search “WonderFestival 20xx_[season]” to see all items announced at that event.

I’ve had “feelings” all my life. I call them my alarm bells. After what happened to my family on Monday I’m starting to think it could be more than just knowing my body well or mothers intuition or coincidence.
Some of the bigger ones have been:

• about 3 weeks after a major surgery I woke up to “alarm bells” in my head screaming at me to go to the emergency room. I wasn’t in pain, just some swelling which my doctor said would be common for several months. I woke up my then boyfriend, now husband, and told him I needed to go to the ER, I didn’t know why I just needed to go. Once at the ER I put my foot down about getting some imaging and they gave me an MRI, my bladder had stopped emptying fully and all the old urine had built up, I was approaching rupture if left more than another day maybe two.
  
• when my daughter was a little over a year old she was crying and restless all night long. No fever no indication there was a serious problem except maybe bad gas, the alarm bells started and I started packing a bag, by the time I finished packing she had started vomiting and collapsed by the time we got to the ER there was blood in her urine, and her temp had gone through the roof. She had a kidney infection, minor in an adult, big deal in a child and had shown no symptoms until that morning
  
• a month ago, nagging voice in my head “you need to go visit your grandparents, you need to go visit your grandparents” they were in good health despite their age. This time I unfortunately ignored the alarm, the next week my aunt took my grandmother to get a hair cut and when they got home my grandfather had passed of a sudden cardiac arrest.
  

And the last one was Sunday and it was a series of alarms that have finally made me think it’s not a coincidence.
We have a car in the shop and have been getting rentals as I’m a stay at home mom because our daughter has autism and we go to speech, OT, and PT multiple times a week but my husband also needs a car for work. Because we only needed a car on Monday this week for Speech and then PT it was easier and cheaper to get a U-Haul pick up truck plus we had some larger things we needed to take to goodwill so win-win.
When checking out the U-Haul I almost skipped the extra $20 for the insurance as there is rarely another car on the road for our Monday drives and money is tight. The bells SCREAMED to get it. So I did.
We pick up the truck and there’s no back seat. I need a back seat for our daughters car seat so I figured I’d give it to my husband and id take my regular vehicle. Alarm again screams NO YOU TAKE THE TRUCK LOOK UP THE SAFETY GUIDELINES. So I look up if it’s legal to have a car seat in a single cab truck, it is. Then read the car seat manual, truck manual, and cdc, Red Cross, and transportation guidelines for how to do everything as safely as possible.
In the morning I get her in her seat and again it yells DOUBLE CHECK. So I make sure the passenger air bag is off, the seat is secure, etc.
While leaving PT we are rear ended on the interstate by a huge suv going about 80mph.
That suv would have destroyed my Ford focus. And there is no way my daughter and I would have gotten out uninjured, all I have is some mild soreness in my back and a seat belt burn on my neck. My daughter is fine. The pickup trucks bumped us destroyed and there is a hole in the back “trunk” door thing and drives weird now but the car that hit us folded like an accordion and their air bags deployed.
And those are only the bigger and more recent incidents they’ve happened all my life. It’s just seeming like too many to be a coincidence.

I am trying to do my homework and then suddenly it hit me, again, the realization that my dog is gone. He usually would keep me company, quietly laying on the floor next to me as I do my own thing. But today he is not here, and he has not been for almost 2 months. I just started crying and to release this energy I have to write this piece.

He was more than just a pet; he was truly the best dog one could ask for. From the moment my husband brought him home as a shy "big" puppy, he quickly became a part of our family. His endearing character and unwavering loyalty earned him a special place in our hearts. His charm and charisma made him the center of attention everywhere he went.
When he fell ill, his decline was heart wrenching to watch. Once a robust and energetic dog, he rapidly transformed into a frail and tired soul. The illness stripped him of his vitality, causing him to lose a concerning amount of weight. The healthy glow in his eyes began to fade, replaced by a weariness that seemed to age him beyond his years. It was heartbreaking to witness this once vibrant being grow weak and fragile before my eyes. What started as a single lesion on his lips multiplied rapidly without signs of healing. In a matter of weeks, they spread like a cruel wildfire, leaving his body marked with twenty painful wounds. His suffering was unbearable to witness, and it pained me deeply to see him isolate himself, withdrawing from the family he adored. His dwindling energy made it rare for him to acknowledge our presence, a stark contrast to the high spirits that defined his earlier years. The decision to ease his suffering through euthanasia was too heavy to bear, but we know that prolonging his pain would be selfish and unfair. He deserved dignity and peace, even if it meant bidding him farewell sooner than we were ready. The weight of that decision was overwhelming. I hadn't experienced such pain in a long time; it felt as if a precious part of my soul was being ripped away, leaving a void that could never be filled. I found myself fervently hoping and praying for a miracle, wishing that there was some way to save him and buy a few more years together. The day we dreaded arrived. Emotions ran high as my husband carried him out of the car. It was a bittersweet echo of the day he first brought him into our apartment. We were led to a serene, pristine room where he laid on a soft blanket—his fondness for cozy blankets and pillows remained unchanged even on that stark moment. When the vet gave him the medication, he accepted it without hesitation, as if he understood the purpose and the relief it would bring. He gracefully slipped away; his expression tranquil as if he were merely in a deep sleep. I laid beside him and hugged his body as it slowly grew cold. I wanted to remember the way his eyes sparkled with love, the way his ears felt against my skin. With a heavy heart, I whispered my final goodbyes, hoping that somehow, somewhere, he would know how deeply he was loved. In that moment, I clung to the belief in a rainbow bridge where we would get to see his exuberant self once more. I love you, big dog! You will never be forgotten.

Appearance Anansi appears as a dark skinned man with 6 arms and 2 other arms that he can pull out when ever he chooses with golden arm bands around 2 with a black spider tattoo on his back and indigo hair and eyes and his hair in the style of locks and shirtless along with blue tattoo symbol on his face and lastly his pants are shown to have with baggy yellow trousers with a blackish blue bandanna around his waist he also has 8 other eyes around his body
Personality Anansi is shown to be very intelligent yet very arrogant and enjoys pulling pranks and annoying other gods and he is very good friends with Buddha and he very prideful and lies a lot and if rarely serious but is very protective of his friends he is one of the few gods against the destruction of humanity but him and Zeus do have an agreement That is he fights for gods he can becomes a chief god if he does win

Hi folks. I recently received an inheritance (not taxed) that will give me around 135k and I am looking for advice to safely invest or manage this money. I will list my lifestyle/debt stats below:
33, engaged, NYC Income: 87k Monthly take home pay after taxes: $4,500 Monthly Mortgage + Utilities: $2,500 Balance owed on mortgage: 238k principle, 29 years left of 30, 5.1% interest Student loans: 38k Paid off used car, no other debt
I am mostly spending the remaining income I make on food, auto expenses/insurance, pet expenses, and other necessities. Loan payments ceased when covid hit, expected to resume in August and I plan to pay them off in full first, leaving me with roughly 100k to work with.
After all monthly payments are made, I can usually manage to save around $800-$1,000 per month if I am frugal enough (have no fun) I transfer this money monthly into a standard savings account but it’s not built up very much because things have come up (new engagement, new house, car issues) I have no 401k, pension, or retirement through my employment and that worries me.
I am newly responsible with money. I ruined my credit when I was in my 20’s by ignoring student loan bills and spending more than I made. 7 years ago, my credit score was 520 and today it’s 787. In the last 12 months I bought a house and got engaged which depleted all of my savings and I want to make the right choice with this money. I am able to pay my bills every month but there’s nothing left for vacation, shopping, fun etc. My fiancé and I plan to have a wedding and child in the next 2 years and we will be doing the IVF route ($$,$$$). Our car is also older and expected to be on outs within that same timeframe.
Logic tells me: pay student loan debt in full, put money aside for a car for when it goes, pay for wedding and make an IVF fund, and then a 12 month emergency fund in a HYSA.
Is there any sense in also paying a good chunk towards my principal balance on the mortgage? What’s the safest way to have my money make money? Is there any benefit to opening a CD instead of a HYSA? Is it too late for a Roth IRA or IRA to be beneficial at my age?
