2023.06.07 12:06 YFN_FigarMin54 I’m the customer and I can do whatever the hell I want!

I take quite a lot of pride in keeping a level professional head at work and not reacting to awful customers. However there are 4 times in my entire working life that I’ve cracked.
This was by far the worst!
A number of years ago I worked at a servo (gas station) on a major highway. At the station we had a policy that all vehicles had to be facing the store when they pulled up to the pumps. This was for safety reasons caz people would come off the highway at high speeds and if you left the pump in the wrong direction you risked a crash. It was also for security reasons caz of how the cameras were set up.
Anyhow a crappy old sedan pulled up in the wrong direction and, over the loud speaker, I informed them to turn the car around otherwise I couldn’t authorise the pump. 10-15mins later the car hasent moved and attempts to fill up again. I repeat the message. The male drive then storms into the store and starts yelling at me about it. I handed him a flyer that explains why but he just crumples it up and continues to yell at me. At this point my tempers rising a bit caz he’s full blown foul mouthing me despite every effort to explain the situation. And then his wife and kid enter the store and she starts swearing at me!! I then informed him if he didn’t comply and didn’t leave I would call the police. This only serves to escalate the swearing and the wife even took a swipe at me over the counter! At that point I’ve snapped and are swearing back at him with such ferocity it causes him to stop for a sec and ask “If I move the car will you serve me?”.
I say “Yes if you move the car in the right direction you’ll be served”. They leave the store and after a few mins reverse the car a full metre back then forwards to its original position! I loose my shit and storm out the back to vent. My coworker then had to deal with them. Turns out being threaten with police twice got them to leave. Ended up apologising to my co workers for storming out but he mind.
Would later find out they crossed the highway to our sister station and did something similar and ended up being arrested for harassment destruction of property caz they reversed their car into the stores firewood cage

2023.06.07 12:06 Plenty-Caregiver5714 I’m tempted to breakup w my gf for another girl

I know rn writing this I’m not a good person for feeling this way, but I just dk what to do.
I’m not gonna go in hefty to personal details here. Effectively, when my girlfriend and I became official I got messaged by another girl showing interest. I always thought this girl was really good looking and had a sort of alt-goth thing going on that is def more my type. I also see her post about a niche interest we share. I’m absolutely against cheating tho and so I turned her down respectfully and it all went down really well. Anyway my gf and I are a while in now but I’m sort of becoming tempted to pursue this other girl now. Would it be awfully trashy of me to go back? If I were to try, I would end things w my current gf first.
I rlly don’t know wat to do rn, because I’m rlly curious to see how it would pan out yk. But at the same time I think I’m afraid to try because if it doesn’t work out, I’ll be alone. I know I’m in the wrong here objectively, but I just don’t know what to do w myself. These feelings come every so often and aren’t a constant thing, but idk.
I also feel like the longer time goes on the shorter and shorter window I do have with the other girl.

2023.06.07 12:06 Cryptok12 I believe I was almost tinder swindled by a female.

I believe I was part of a tinder swindler dating syndicate my story starts as follows. I met a German girl on Tinder and she was in my country and we started dating I believe she was actually grooming me to the point where I would eventually give over money to her luckily I found out that she is married and the odd thing about it all is her and her husband are ghosts online
They have no social media profiles they are invisible on Google you cannot find them anywhere and she portrayed herself when she met me as a highly successful business woman that owns multiple businesses she always went out of her way to tell me how much money she makes and that she has millions and millions of dollars in the bank she also never seemed to be working when I was dating her if if somebody was that successful And ran an empire then surely I would’ve noticed her needing to be on your laptop or responding to mail or taking business calls but that never happened. She also faked two pregnancies and miscarriages with me. I believe this was designed to get me more entrenched in the relationship with her. She also told me how she had turned all her previous boyfriends into millionaires
So I think I dodged a bullet. She was a complete narcissistand socio path. What are your thoughts do you think I was being groomed? I wish this kind of person would be exposed and get the Karma they deserve. I no longer communicate with her have not seen or heard from her in over six months I’ve blocked her number and I’ve moved on any thoughts on this or has anyone had a similar experience

2023.06.07 12:06 LutyForLiberty What should (and probably won't) happen in the warfare update

A lot of people here want something like the HOI4 battle planner in V3 where the player can set objectives. I would like this as well but we know it almost certainly won't happen. But other good changes would be:
Drastically lower supply limits in bad terrain. The real-life Soviet garrison in Afghanistan in the 1980s was just over 100,000 strong. Marching 700,000 men over the Himalayas was utterly impossible and yet the AI does it like it's a walk in the park.
Naval rework with coaling stations limiting steam ship range and lower troop transport capacity. Allow pressing civilian shipping into service to move ships in wartime so merchant navies have military importance. No more Qing landing in the Gambia.
Rebalance ship combat power. No number of sailing boats will defeat a dreadnought. Also, allow buying expensive ships as minor powers like the Ottomans and Argentina did in real life. Those countries could never build a dreadnought shipyard but still had comparatively strong navies.
Make advanced shipyards far more expensive and hard to build.
Asymmetrical warfare. This would probably be best represented by resistance in occupied territory damaging infrastructure and slowly killing garrison troops which cost money to maintain. This will put a stop to Spain reconquering the Americas for instance (ask Napoleon III) and create the chance of quagmires like the Boer War where irrelevant tiny countries were extremely stubborn for major powers to conquer.
This absolutely will not happen but conscription and mobilisation systems. Terms of service can be set (1 year, 2 years) and this creates a pool of pops with reserve training which can be called up quickly in wartime. Mobilisation speed depends on rail network density (again, ask Napoleon III). Countries that don't use peacetime conscription like the British empire will have smaller, cheaper armies and will take years to train a massive force. In reality Britain got away with this by being an island screened by its massive navy.

2023.06.07 12:05 Arceus7 M 22 Escelating chronic nerve pain

Hello i live with chronic nerve pain and has for over 4 years now, ever since a physical exerzise went wrong and I got a giant disproportional weight on my left sholderblade. Roughly 4 days after this incident I started to notice that having clothes on me [left back specifically] hurt very much. This never went away. 3 years later when I was biking one day I noticed a similar pain in my legs, and sure enough after roughly 4 days I was suddenly in a wheelchair unable to stand up from inconceivable physical pain. Since this everything has started to escalate with increasing speed in the wrong direction.
I have done many medical examinations including
Mri of the entire body exliding feet and lower legs
The lowering reaction (not sure its called this) just a [rough translation] of [Sänkningsreaktionen]
computerized tomography [ct]
Various blood samples.
Sadly, not a single test have found anything wrong. I have reacuring contact with a neurologist who's one of the only people who takes my situation seriously, Sadly he says himself he doesn't understand what's the cause of my obviously very real physical suffering and admits there are a lot of neurologists with a deeper understanding then he's, hence why today I'm asking here:
-:what the fuck is wrong with my body, how is it possible to be in so much pain constantly but no medical examination can find anything wrong. Is there anything more I can do?
Currently I'm on a lot of medication. Mainly antidepressants and gabapentin
Aside from excerize and medication the only realife I found has been photobiomodulation

2023.06.07 12:05 jeffrigwell First ride - sooo good

Got this VTX1300 a few months ago to get the wife on the back and hopefully get her interested in heading out together regularly. It was in pretty rough shape having sat in the previous owners garage unused for a year or 2 with a tank full of stale fuel and filthy carby. A carby kit, tank clean, full service and all fluids flushed, so much cleaning and polishing of chrome to get it back looking how it should and now she's a goer.
I've had the tank on and off more times than I care to recall rejetting the carb to suit intake and pipes but it's finally rego'd, running sweet, making all the right noises and stirring all the right feelings. Such a sweet ride.
Stable mate to my 2010 sportster with S&S 1200 kit, cams, cnc heads and all the rubbish to go with it. 2 very different bikes but both so good to ride for way different reasons.

2023.06.07 12:04 lady__jane What are some "great in real life" romances for genre novices?

If you were recommending a first romance novel to someone and wanted something that exhibited a healthy, reciprocal relationship, what would you recommend? I was wondering what to recommend to a straight guy friend - he was interested in romance novels. I don't want to bore him, but I wanted something true to the romance genre.
It doesn't have to be a CR - any genre or pairing.
Pride and Prejudice has always been my go to since it's a classic, but honestly, the relationship wasn't ideal. Outlander - but the end SA!!! Wait for It by Mariana Zapata could work, though how does she care for him? Radiance - but that one bored me a bit, which may be true of healthy books?!? Etc.? Maybe North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell - they make each other better people.
What is an example of a romance that would indeed be good in real life, with honesty and reciprocal respect, kindness, and affection - and also just a really good read for most people?

2023.06.07 12:04 Rolosrawesome My life-long dog passed today and I don’t know how to cope

My life-long dog passed today and I don’t know how to cope
I’ve had my dog, Alfie, for as long as I can remember. I grew up with him from when he was 2/3 and I was 6-7 until now, 16/17 (him) to 20. He was a rescue dog, the craziest looking one in his photo apparently but he turned out to be an absolutely sweetheart when my parents went to see the dogs at the rescue centre. We’d recently lost our pup, Ruby, at the time from complications at about 18 months so after we’d grieved and were ready, my parents decided to get a rescue and we were blessed with Alfie Moon, and continued to be blessed with him for 15 years. He is all I’ve ever known, he’s been with me through the ups and downs of my life and I don’t know how to process that he’s gone.
He’s been sick for a while, so it would come eventually, but I didn’t expect it to be today. Earlier this morning, he’d be bright and eating cheese off of my pizza thing. Couple hours later, he suddenly collapsed and declined over several hours no matter what we did. The vet couldn’t get here in time and we took him out to the garden so at least he could see nature one last time with us all around.
I already miss him laid on my bed with me, he was my best friend through everything I’m already dealing with and I don’t know what to do with myself.

2023.06.07 12:04 MsRagret I was healing but anxiety came back stronger because of a tiktok video

This is not a safe space anymore. Tiktok accounts are milking content from this sub in our expense.
I made a post half a year ago about my mistake and selfishness. I wrote it because there was comfort in anonymity. It was my way to heal.
I was doing okay. I was healing and believe it or not, gradually moving on. For once, days are brighter and my outlook has been positive. My luck was turning until a cunt of a person made a text to speech video, word for word from my post.
This came to my knowledge because a friend of mine forwarded the video saying it's similar to mine. No shit because I literally wrote it.
My anxiety came back stronger than ever and all that progress I made as well as my mental health all gone in an instant.
To make it worst is that people I personally know will know about this.
I logged in to this account and again got new messages how I should die alone all thanks to the tiktok video.
I'm so angry but all I could do is cry.

2023.06.07 12:04 Defiant_Ad_2251 This game has me in the palm of it’s hand.

This game has me in the palm of it’s hand.
Last night it took me a good 2 hours(semi afk) to complete the last kitchen.
My gear at the time was: Tall black hat Barrel Mixer
Earlier in the night me and my partner discussed how I desperately needed one specific item to change the game.
So I saved up the 200 gems. Cracked open the box. Epic.. Common.. Epic.. Epic.. Rare..

2023.06.07 12:04 traviscrt Advise on adjusting fall damage based on size

I was thinking of homebrewing different fall damage for different sized creatures and was wondering if these break anything:
Tiny: depending on how small. If smaller than a rat, no damage. Otherwise 1 damage per 10 feet, caps at 5.
Small: 1d4 per 10 feet, caps at 10d4
Medium: 1d6 per 10 feet, caps at 20d6
Large: 1d8 per 10 feet, caps at 30d8
Huge: 1d10 per 10 feet, caps at 40d10
Gargantuan: 1d12 per 10 feet, caps at 50d12.
I know this isn’t accurate physics since mass scales to the cube of length, but I just wanted a relatively simple system. Will this change break anything?

2023.06.07 12:04 NightCities13 88 Years Later-Game 10-Rest of PreGames

Training
Fabiana and Decimus were tied together with belts, as were the other tributes. They utilized the spear and sword stations. Hermosa and Juan used machetes, while Rosetta and Chayote threw knives.
Meanwhile Rona and Vern, known for being least favorites in District 1, worked in the geology station. Alis and Lore (both 3) worked in the electronics station. Riveretta and Islet (both 4) swam in the pool together. Chemica and Gerald (both 5) used the chemical station. Pinette and Oaken (both 7) threw axes, while Annabeth and James (both 12) worked in the medical station.
Assessments
Fabiana and Decimus scored a strong joint 10, for spear throwing and sword fighting. Meanwhile Hermosa and Juan scored a joint 8 for machete usage. Rosetta and Chayote scored a decent 6 for knife throwing.
Other strong scores included Pinette and Oaken scoring a 7, and all other pairs scored a 6 or below.
Odds
Fabiana and Decimus had odds of 3 to 1, while Hermosa and Juan had odds of 5 to 1. Rosetta and Chayote had lower odds of 13 to 1.
Interviews
Fabiana and Decimus spoke of their excitement to compete in the Games, and how they would win together and bring glory to District 1.
Hermosa discussed her children, and Juan explained that he wanted to go home in time to see his wife give birth. Both also talked about their hatred for the deceased Mayor Stonewall.
Rosetta and Chayote discussed their poor families, and how they wanted to at least earn money for their families by dying in the top five pairs.
Game Maker Juliana Ricci gave her keyword, which was “wealthy.”
Tube Rooms
After arriving at the arena, Fabiana and Decimus were visited by Horus and Atticus. Horus hugged Fabiana and wished her the best of luck. Meanwhile Atticus told both tributes to stick together.
Pedro hugged his fiancée and brother in law, tearfully giving as much advice as he could, which stopped when Hermosa kissed him. Juan embraced Pedro, promising to “see him soon.”
Terra visited with Rosetta and Chayote, giving as much advice as possible. She warmly hugged both of them.
Once all 24 tributes were in their tubes, they rose up into the arena.

2023.06.07 12:03 Delicious_Iron_5538 I wish I could skate

I’ve always seen skateboarding and thought it was fucking awesome but I feel like I’ve left it too late, I’m 17 and every time I get on a board people make fun of me for being bad so I just put it away again. Have I left it too late? How do you deal with people taking the piss?

2023.06.07 12:03 dropmycroissant12 I'm terrified

I was prescribed 50 mg of setraline a day and I'm reading about the side effects about being numb and losing your sex drive and all of this being permanent, I mean I want the meds to change my anxiety not who I am or how i think.
I know it's different for everyone but I don't want to keep taking it and for it to be to late to reverse any side effects

2023.06.07 12:03 zcatzblah Rereading School Reports

My parents gave me boxes of my old school stuff a few months back (I finished school about 10 years ago now) and I spent some time last week while I was unwell sorting through the boxes, as I naturally couldn't sit still for more than 10 minutes and needed to be doing something.
And boy, let me tell you I was not expecting to become so emotional reading through them. I had vaguely remembered teachers saying that I was easily distracted, often didn't do my homework, or struggled to concentrate, but seeing it in report after report was hard. I had so many issues with planning or structuring essays, I lost significant marks in exams on at least five separate occasions because I didn't read the question properly or went off on tangents that gained me 0 marks, or because my presentation was so bad they couldn't read my answers (lots of arrows and asterisks).
In some reports teachers referred to me as "lazy" and often said "She's intelligent, but if she'd just apply herself...". It was heartbreaking. There are self-reports from me where I'd have to state my goals for doing better in school and I would always say "concentrate more" or "be more organised". I feel for that little girl so much. I know teachers are slightly better now at recognising ADHD than they were 10-20 years ago, but I can't help feeling resentful. How did no-one suspect? Why was I left for so long with no support? I struggled with depression and anxiety for so long because I was convinced I was the problem; I could never get myself to concentrate more or be more organised. The reports don't even display half of the awful things certain teachers said to me in their frustration.
And when I was 11 or 12, my parents said I was old enough now to make my own lunch and set my own bedtime. So, naturally, I spent years surviving on 4 hours sleep a night with no breakfast or lunch, and they never seemed to realise or check? I didn't even realise how bad that was until I joked about it to a friend who became very serious and said that sounded near enough neglect. They were brilliant parents otherwise so I hadn't really thought about it.
I just feel so let down. I have a son of my own, and I couldn't imagine letting him go through what I went through. Do any parents have their own experiences of the current state of schools and their support for neurodiverse students? Is it better now than it was for us?

2023.06.07 12:03 ThemeLongjumping7390 Brining Ratios and Time

I’m looking for a formula for curing meats in a wet and/or dry brine. I’m looking for a brisket brine for pastrami and a pork loin brine for Canadian bacon. Most of what I’ve found online is volumetric and not by weight. I was hoping maybe you might have recourses to share. I’m using Morton Tender Quick at the moment but the website instructions are pretty vague.
Any resource or ratios for meat curing would help.
Currently, I have two brisket flats 10 pounds total raw, 1.5 gallons of water with 2 cups tender quick. The flats have been in 48 hours and have soaked up a lot of brine, I’m supposed to let soak for 5-14 days. I want to know how long it typically takes for brine to fully penetrate the meat.
Looking to cure a pork loin in the future for Canadian bacon. Any help, advice welcome.

2023.06.07 12:03 em-tional My Opinion About TJ and Flynn's Route.

Just finished Flynn's route and holy fucking shit, that was definitely better when it came to horror and made me did hit me in an emotional spot with that ending.
If I am talking about which route had been way more horrifying (neither of them were really that horrific), then I would obviously pick Flynn's because of how much it put me on edge in the end.
I feel like I could relate with Chase in TJ's route for the most part but it got a bit more complicated with Flynn's due to the fact that we never got sexually intimate with TJ made it easier for me but since we were sexually intimate with Flynn, that made the switch Chase made at the Town Hall way more fucked up.
If I had to pick which route between the two had emotionally hurt me more, without a doubt, it's TJ's (it is probably a tie right now but not because of the ending in Flynn's route) because that ending was so perfect that I still haven't recovered.
The better ending in my opinion goes to TJ's route as well because I wasn't to shocked with Flynn's ending and it seemed too cliché and it honestly made me think of Monster's Inc. for some reason at the end. 😭
The only thing that tore me up in Flynn's route was the intimacy between Flynn and Chase to only be broken by Chase when we try to stop Flynn from realizing we killed Sydney. That is the only time I truly felt utterly horrible for Flynn in his route (the ending hurt me a bit but not too much) because all the bonding and the lust in his route made it so much worse when Chase covered himself up by accusing Flynn of horrible actions.
I love TJ's route so much due to how the ending was written so flawlessly and I feel like it should get a good ending (I talked about it in a comment I made a while a go so check that out if you are curious) and in fact, both of them should because it only seems fair to their routes for being so amazing that it deserves to be given more content.
