2022.01.25 07:26 amosslet Seattle Kraken players and their corresponding buses

Coffee? Salmon? Rain? If there’s anything Seattle is known for, it’s our astonishing and varied bus system. With local buses spanning most numbers from 1-100, I realized I only had to look up our Kraken players’ numbers to find important insights into their Seattle Bus Personas (Buss-sonas, if you will). This is only about half the team, but I think the results speak for themselves. Let’s get bus-y:
#5, Mark Giordano: Hard Working. Dependable. Straight-shooting. Far-reaching. The 5 is one of the main transit veins running north to south along Aurora, running from the downtown all the way to Shoreline. Valued by many in Seattle. Locks in well with #21 at the south end(1). Shows up early and stays late.
#21, Alex Wennberg: A uniquely versatile bus, the 21 runs from West Seattle through SoDo into the downtown. One of the only buses that manages to be almost in multiple places at once, bridging the gap between Seattle and West Seattle. Is somehow both extremely frequent and fast, with occasional express service. Works well with #5(1).
#31, Philip Grubauer: Shows up early and stays late. The 31's strong side-to-side movement makes it unique in our transit system. Running from South Magnolia east through Queen Anne, Fremont, Wallingford, and the U District, the 31 plugs a much-needed hole in our coverage before ending its route at Children's Hospital. Frequent activity hasn't slowed this route down any, although it has shown a willingness to share its burden with other routes as needed.
#24, Jamie Oleksiak: Running in a frequent back-and-forth pattern, the 24 covers the bulk of Magnolia on its own, then zips through Interbay to the downtown. Has the power to be in places that no other bus goes. Known to link up with other routes in order to achieve astonishing coverage.
#13, Brandon Tanev: A nice tight route from Seattle Pacific University through Queen Anne to Seattle Center and the downtown, the 13 cuts through the traffic and knows where it's going. Inarguably central. Appealing to both locals and tourists.
#9, Ryan Donato: Capable of covering long distances in a single linear push, the 9 runs from Rainier Valley all the way up through Columbia City, the ID, and Capitol Hill. A bus with wide appeal. A straight shooter for sure. Shares the load with #7(2).
#7, Jordan Eberle: The 7 runs from Rainier Valley all the way up through Columbia City, and the ID, along the same path as #9, but then it takes a left into the downtown in order to approach things from another angle(2). A people-pleaser, serving a large swath of Seattle. Capable of sharing space with other buses while still driving straight forward.
#43, Colin Blackwell: A real workhorse of a bus, the 43 shows a lot of both lateral and vertical movement, ranging from the downtown to Capitol Hill, Montlake, and the University District. At some times of day, it converts to a 44, and continues on all the way through Wallingford to Ballard. Few buses cover this much ground.
#16, Jared McCann: Speed alert! The 16x, an express route, travels a broad distance from the downtown up Aurora to Fremont, Phinney Ridge, Greenwood, and Bitter Lake. Scenic and far-ranging.
#17, Jaden Schwartz: A northern bus(3), the far-flung express route 17 moves from Loyal Heights through Ballard to the downtown, covering a lot of distance. A team player who shares the load with its two closest neighbors.
#15, Riley Sheahan: Another far-north route(4) shuffling people from Blue Ridge, Crown Hill, and Ballard to the downtown, the 15 covers a lot of ground quickly. A team player who is not afraid to overlap with others and share the burden.
#3, Will Borgen: The 3 ranges all the way from Seattle Pacific University and East Queen Anne to the downtown before crossing I-5 and heading through First Hill and the Central District to Madrona. Notably trades off efforts with its neighbor the 4 to thoroughly cover much of the same ground(5). Few buses show this much coverage laterally as well as vertically. One of the earliest and latest running buses, the 3 is an indisputably hard worker.
#4, Haydn Fleury: Like its companion the 3, the 4 shows exceptional lateral movement in addition to its vertical path, traveling from Seattle Pacific University through Queen Anne, the downtown, First Hill, the Central District, and Magnolia. A good team player who isn't afraid to trade off with the 3(5), the 4 is up earlier and stays later than almost any other bus, making it one of the hardest workers on the team.
#29, Vince Dunn: An early bird(6), the commuter bus 29 runs from Ballard through Queen Anne to the downtown and back. Excellent at avoiding traffic, this bus bypasses the most choked downtown stops to slide right through to where it needs to be.
#60, Chris Driedger: The versatile 60 serves a large number of Seattle residents, with frequent activity from Capitol Hill through First Hill, Beacon Hill, Georgetown, and White Center. Willing to work alone, this bus fills an important void in the transit network, and is much valued for its service.
(1) Wennberg assisted on a Giordano goal against the Canucks.
(2) Donato and Eberle are occasional linemates and have assisted on each other’s goals multiple times.
(3) Schwartz is from Saskatchewan, Canada.
(4) Sheahan is from Ontario, Canada.
(5) Borgen and Fleury are a frequent defense line pairing.
(6) I have actually zero idea how early Dunn likes to wake up. But the bus runs early and bus numerology doesn’t lie.

2021.12.31 04:32 Ebonyks Here are my favorite value concentrates, what are yours?

So far, the best deals I've found are 16 (12 on sale) for Medusa distillate at ike's , 12 bucks (8.40 on sale) Kelso kreeper rso, and the same price for delectable dabs wax both at zips sodo.
What killer deals have you all found? Has anyone cornered higher end value concentrates?

2021.05.11 00:21 MegaRAID01 With the update released this afternoon on the King County Vaccination dashboard, 70% of adult King County Residents have now received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.

Link here: https://kingcounty.gov/depts/health/covid-19/data/vaccination.aspx
This is according to the bottom of the page. The one higher up shows 69.7%, so I'm not sure which one to believe.

2020.07.10 03:48 ErantyInt Chasing Blargg's NTSC in RGB

Because of some push from u/SodoDev wanting an NTSC60 Composite look via RGB for his PAL set, I started digging into how close I could get to Blargg's hardware filters with Retroarch shaders. Here's what I've gotten:

Setup:

  • JVC AV-27230
  • Pi3B+ running CRTPi-RGB
  • RetroTINK Ultimate via YPbPr
  • lr-fceumm @ 2048x224p
  • Composite-Direct-FBX pallette
I made three presets, one with no dithering, one with one pass nearest, and the last with two passes nearest. These are all three designed to be used with Bilinear Filtering enabled from the video settings as well.
Control: Famicom AV via Composite
No Filtering, No Shader.
Blargg Composite
Blargg S-Video
Just Bilinear Filtering
Bilinear + NTSC_DDT_NO_DITHER
Bilinear + NTSC_DDT_1PASS_DITHER
Bilinear + NTSC_DDT_2PASS_DITHER
Full GPhoto Gallery with Captions
Here's the link to the files. https://github.com/crtpi/CRTPi-Project/raw/mastentsc_ddt.zip
You extract them in:
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch/shaders/
Or via Samba:
\\retropie\configs\all\retroarch\shaders\
If you want to take it almost too far with some heavy ghosting, almost like RGB meets RF -- use NTSC_DDT_1PASS_DITHER and change "Shader #3 Filter" from "Nearest" to "Don't Care" then "Apply Changes". This gives you some VCR RF level quality.
Zee Gohst!
You can make that change permanent by editing the NTSC_DDT_1PASS_DITHER.glslp file and deleting the line:
filter_linear3 = "false"
If you have any questions, just let me know! These can be used for about any core, but you may experience some slowdowns without an overclock on heavier systems -- especially PSX. They'll work on any relatively-recent version of Retroarch and will also work on PI2SCART OS, RGB-Pi OS, Lakka, Retropie CRT-EDITION and just about anything else.

2012.10.17 08:19 mister_pants Did you find my wallet?

I had a lovely walk today from my workplace in SODO to my house in the CD. Unfortunately my wallet doesn't seem to have made it. It apparently slipped out of my jacket (which I was carrying) somewhere along a route that took me through Pioneer Square, through downtown, and up James/Cherry.
Though I realize I've probably seen the last of my wallet and its contents, I figured I'd just toss up a post in the off chance that a fellow Seattle Redditor happened to pick it up. Anybody? I'm offering a five dollar reward for its return, because there was a total of five dollars in it. There can be beer in it for you, as well.
Also, do you have any recommendations on what I should do? I've called my credit card companies, my bank, and ZipCar to let them know my cards are lost or stolen. I also placed 90-day fraud alerts with the three credit agencies. Called the police and they said they don't take reports for missing wallets, but I can check with the evidence office in the morning about anything that's been turned in. Am I missing some critical or helpful step?
UPDATE: It has been returned! Some nice girl found it near Seattle U and dropped it off at my house this evening. I'll have to replace my cancelled cards, but it's good to have my driver's license and health insurance cards back. Phew! Faith in humanity restored.
