violet, marlon, brody, and aasim are the oldest kids at ericson and are all about 18/19. marlon couldn't have been in charge ericson since he was 10/11 (beginning of the apocalypse). and all the names tenn mentioned about people who died would have included older kids.... which means all the older kids died? that seems very odd tbf

2023.06.01 16:10 DeFy_DC GPW Fight Club #1

The stage is set, we are sold out in Copper Box Arena in London for the first episode of GPW: Fight Club! Since the completion of the draft over the weekend, each three brands have been vigorously preparing for the occasion, and now, it is a free for all for championships, glory and everything associated. GPW are coming out of the gates swinging with a World Cup to crown the INAUGURAL GPW World Champion. 14 different nations represented over a 16 man bracket, and tonight, the two American representatives will be decided in an All-American battle royale. In our main event, pro wrestling legend Katsuyori Shibata steps in the ring against The Original Bro, Matt Riddle, for the final spot in the tournament, but the action is kicking off with a STACKED Six Man Tag Team Match!
"The Number One pick in the FBL Draft, arguably the most powerful faction in all of pro wrestling today." Since its inception in the Autumn of 2020, the United Empire have been on a constant ascent. Questions have been asked, quite simply of ‘how high can they go?’ and the faction of trailblazers led by the best wrestler in the world, Will Ospreay, have took that question and dismissed it, they continue to develop and expand. Will Ospreay emerges onto the entranceway to a huge pop, tailed by Aussie Open, one of the best tag teams in the world. They make their way down to the ring.
Santos Escobars’ music hits, as he comes out to the ring tailed by the real life brothers, Dragon Lee and Dralistico. Of course, Dragon Lee has a storied history with Will Ospreay, including their explosive battles in the New Japan Junior Division. As the trio get down to the bottom of the ramp, OSPREAY AND AUSSIE OPEN LAUNCH THEMSELVES OUT OF THE RING AND JUMPSTART THEIR OPPONENTS!
United Empire (Will Ospreay and Aussie Open) vs Santos Escobar and Hermanos Dragones (Dragon Lee and Dralistico)
Work smarter, not harder, says Ospreay and the United Empire, as they throw the Mexican trio back into the ring and continue the assault, with Santos Escobar labelled the legal man to start the match. Aussie Open interject, assisting Ospreay with some trios offence, however, Dralistico and Dragon Lee equal the odds, sending the United Empire flailing out of the ring as they both hit an insane suicide dive and throw Ospreay back into the ring, as Escobar and his partners are able to attain some control of the match. It goes back and forth, with home-country hero Ospreay receiving most shine, however, everybody in the match gets spotlight, with ‘Dunkzilla’ Mark Davis in particular emerging as a powerhouse in the match, demonstrating his dynamic within the United Empire. After a fun and enjoyable six man tag, Will Ospreay takes the victory for his faction with a Hidden Blade on an unsuspecting Dralisitico after a sneaky tag.
United Empire def. Santos Escobar and Hermanos Dragones (13 minutes)
A riveting first match for the GPW promotion showing off six of their finest, most agile wrestlers, United Empire prove why they were drafted as first pick in the FBL Draft. Ospreay takes to the microphone after the match, and declares that he is ‘assuming responsibility for the British representative in the GPW World Cup’, however, there is an objection! The London fans love him, the UK fans love him, it’s the OJMO himself, Michael Oku! Oku and Ospreay have extensive history, their RevPro High Stakes match last year receiving critical acclaim and essentially ‘revitalising’ the UK pro wrestling scene after the pandemic. Oku comes down to the ring.
“Will… There is no denying that you are the best wrestler in the world right now. You are unstoppable. I have tried myself, on more than one occasion, to take you down. However, you always find a way. With that being said, you try and take credit for carrying the UK wrestling scene through the pandemic, and for someone with your status, it’s easy to say. But anybody who stuck with us through those times, knows well and truly, that it was The OJMO, Michael Oku, who was doing the dirty work, taking whatever bookings I could find, just so we could all be here today!” There is a brief pause as Oku collects his thoughts, Ospreay clearly taking him seriously, “You really thought I’d just forget about what happened in York Hall? I have been on a personal journey since, sleepless nights, as I tell myself that if I cannot beat Will Ospreay, then I have let down everybody who stuck with me, who stuck with RevPro, who stuck with professional wrestling in these last few years.
As a result, I am challenging you for the spot of British representative in the GPW World Cup. Because these fans deserve a representative who wants to bring the GPW World Championship to the UK and keep it here, and if my track record is anything to go by, I’m the best guy for the job.” Oku extends a hand, Ospreay initially leans in to shake his hand, but then slaps it away, as they go face-to-face, igniting the spark for the personal resentment these two have for each other, “The fucking tongue-and-cheek for you to show your face, and to try and take my spot in the tournament. Some things can’t be taught, so I guess I’m gonna have to show you instead. It’s taken me six years to get one over Okada, and you really think that you’re due a win over me? I thought you were smarter, Michael! So I’ll just have to knock it into your head instead. Next week, Ospreay vs Oku III. I know that I’m making that World Cup, but I’ll put the spot on the line anyway, just so I can get your hopes up. ‘Cus after I beat you there and then, you won’t ever come back to try and beat me.” Ospreay drops the mic and leaves, tailed by Aussie Open, as Oku stands in the ring and hypes up the crowd, the match card appearing for Ospreay/Oku, next week in the Copper Box Arena in London.
Following our opening GPW bout, we are now moving onto the All-American Battle Royale, where the two remaining survivors will be dubbed the American representatives in the GPW World Cup. Some big names in the Battle Royale, but also some underdog picks, as Orange Cassidy, Swerve Strickland, and Eddie Kingston get the biggest reactions from the crowd. As they all gather in the ring, the bell sounds and we are underway.
All American Battle Royale
Initially, the tag teams of the match pair up to assume control, with The Street Profits, East West Express and Motor City Machine guns all going after each other out of the gates, prompting everybody else to form allegiances. However, Ace Austin is smart, as he works with the Motor City Machine Guns, the three of them ganging up on everybody else and even eliminating Jordan Oliver from the match, the first elimination.
Eddie Kingston is a clear fan favourite, as he goes on an impressive run, eliminating both Angelo Dawkins and Chris Sabin. However, he then stares down with Brody King of the House of Black, as the two begin to exchange blows in the middle of the ring, they are deadset on going after each other, with The Mad King attempting to eliminate Brody. He gets him leaned up against the ropes, and Kingston puts so much into the lariat, they both go tumbling over the top rope and is eliminated from the match! Kingston and King continue brawling even after being eliminated though, through the crowd and into the arena concourse as King puts Kingston through a table before being dragged away by security.
Dijakovic proves a force to be reckoned with in the match, as Lio Rush and Montez Ford team up to try and take him out. However, Rush notices Ford is backed down, and throws him out of the match! This is why you must be skeptical about who you team with in these battle royals. Dominik Dijakovic eliminates Alex Shelley, as Lio Rush and Ace Austin are both eliminated in quick succession by Orange Cassidy! Nick Wayne, in a David vs Goliath spot, is able to pry Dijkaovic’s fingers from the ropes as he gets eliminated, and now, we are left with four. Hayes, Cassidy, Swerve and Wayne. Only two of these will go on to be representatives for the US in the GPW World Cup.
Swerve and Wayne have a duel, rekindling their legendary DEFY feud, as Hayes and Cassidy focus up on each other. Wayne gets the short end of the stick this time around, Swerve getting revenge for their last encounter as Swerve eliminates Wayne, leaving three. As Swerve and Hayes form a duo, they take out Orange Cassidy, with Swerve getting revenge for the Blackjack Battle Royale and securing a spot in the tournament for both himself and Carmelo Hayes.
Swerve Strickland and Carmelo Hayes survive the All-American Battle Royale (16 minutes)
An impressive showing for both of these men, Carmelo Hayes has simply acquired a spot in the tournament without eliminating anybody, but he worked smarter in the match and may now have an alliance with Swerve on the way, as the two former NXT rivals embrace and shake each others hands, no love loss between the two over the years.
The camera goes backstage, where Santos Escobar, Dragon Lee and Dralistico are recovering in their locker room after their six man tag against the United Empire. The interview is interrupted by a knock on the door, which is answered by none other than Andrade El Idolo, who enters the room with his cunning and classy profile. He takes off his shades, and commends the Mexican trio for their efforts earlier in the night. He then states that if the three are willing to grant the Mexican spot in the GPW World Cup to Andrade, then he will ‘reward them with an opportunity they cannot miss’. They all reluctantly agree, with Andrade grinning as he leaves the room.
We see a vignette of Gunther, Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel, known as Imperium, as they dissect why they are going to bring the GPW World Championship to Europe, all three men taking part in the GPW World Cup over the next few weeks.
We now have the first glimpse at the women’s division to be seen, as the random pairings of Mercedes Mone, Dakota Kai, Bianca Belair and Millie McKenzie will take on Mariah May, AZM, Saya Kamitani and Toni Storm, with the winning team securing a place in the GPW Women’s Championship gauntlet in two weeks time on GPW: Fight Club.
Mercedes Mone, Dakota Kai, Bianca Belair and Millie McKenzie vs Toni Storm, AZM, Saya Kamitani and Mariah May
A frantic eight man tag, all eight women get time to shine in the match, with the second team in particular flourishing throughout due to the pre-existing allegiance between AZM and Saya Kamitani of Queen’s Quest. The British fans are fond of Millie McKenzie, who had made a name for herself on the Indies for over five years now. There’s some exciting sequences, however, the victory is picked up by Bianca Belair’s team after she hits a K-O-D on Mariah May for the pinfall.
Mercedes Mone, Dakota Kai, Bianca Belair and Millie McKenzie advance to the GPW Women’s Championship Gauntlet (11 minutes)
A big step in the right direction for these four women, who will now have a chance at the GPW Women’s Championship in just two weeks time. Mone wasn’t even tagged in the whole match, only making a few contributions to the bout. Afterwards, however, she sticks around, as AZM and Saya Kamitani are blindsided ringside by The IIconics! Billie Kay and Peyton Royce come out from the crowd and ram them into the barricade, before sliding in the ring and taking out Mariah May, before setting their sights on Toni Storm! Storm walks back, however, bumps into Mone, as MONE AND THE IICONICS BEGIN TO BEAT DOWN TONI STORM! Dakota Kai glances at Storm from the ramp, and even though Belair tries to stop her, she RUNS DOWN THE RAMP AND SLIDES INTO THE RING, HELPING OUT TONI STORM AND TRYING TO DEFEND HER FROM MONE AND THE IICONICS! HOWEVER, she is just overpowered, Mone hits a Mone Maker on Kai. She picks up the microphone, “This Women’s Division is in serious need of an intervention. These ladies don’t know their worth, but rest assured, when put up against Mone Enterprises, they will all fall like flies.” A huge headline coming out of the first episode of GPW: Fight Club, the establishment of Mone Enterprises featuring Mercedes Mone, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.
Will Ospreay is interviewed backstage following his six man tag win as well as being confronted by The OJMO, Michael Oku. Ospreay initially praises Oku, calling him an ‘Aspirational fella’, however, Ospreay cites his experience in the industry, saying that not every fairytale has a happy ending, and next week, he is going to dish up a slice of reality to Oku that will further better him.
In our semi main event, we see tag team action, as the House of Black pairing of Aleister Black and Buddy Matthews go up against Hirooki Goto and Mike Bailey, a showcase for four men who have automatically qualified for the GPW World Cup. Both teams make their entrances.
House of Black (Aleister Black and Buddy Matthews) vs ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey and Hirooki Goto
The synergy difference proves to be imperative, with Black and Matthews shining as a tag team while Bailey and Goto have little time to acclimatise to each other, being more individualistic in the match. A lot of the match revolves around the exciting duel between Bailey and Matthews, hard hitting and fast-paced. Towards the end of the match, Bailey pushes Goto out of the way so he gets hit with a Black Mass instead, however, the save has little effect as Matthews and Black ambush Goto and put him away for the win.
House of Black def. ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey and Hirooki Goto (8 minutes)
After the match, Goto thanks Speedball for the save for the Black Mass, noting his teamwork ability, despite coming up short. Before our main event, announcements are made for next week, as we will get our first four Round One matches in the GPW World Cup, as well as a Last Chance Qualifier for the Women’s Championship and in the main event, Will Ospreay vs Michael Oku for a spot in the GPW World Cup. The first round matches and the participants in the GPW Women’s Championship gauntlet Last Chance Qualifier will be announced on the GPW Twitter page over the next week.
For now, it’s main event time, as The Wrestler, Katsuyori Shibata, goes up against the Original Bro, Matt Riddle. Both men make their entrances, and shake hands before the match, there is a big fight feel in the air, the whole crowd standing up from the opening bell as the match begins.
Katsuyori Shibata vs Matt Riddle
The anticipation of the audience turns to a tense silence as the bell sounds, both men circling the ring and feeling each other out with a brief mat sequence, Riddle mounting Shibata and demonstrating his experience in MMA, which both of these men have. Shibata breaks free, targeting the arm of Riddle and taking him down, switching the roles as Shibata spends some time playing mind games with Riddle, before yielding and allowing a clean break for both men to get to their feet. While one could argue Riddle has the advantage of agility and physicality, Shibata’s mind games pay dividends, as Riddle becomes aggressive, swinging wildly for the Wrestler, who ducks every one and throws Riddle to the mat, asserting dominance.
You can see a toggle switch in Riddle’s head, as he alters his focus and his strategy, trying to keep the match away from the mat. The two do not leave the ring once during the bout. He finds a break when Shibata goes for a PK, with Riddle sliding under it and rolling up Shibata, then deadlifting him into a gutwrench suplex, following up into another. He then locks Shibata in an armbar, to which Shibata scurries for the ropes, hesitant at the explosiveness of Riddle in the moment. Eventually, Shibata seats himself, urging Riddle to do the same. They both sit cross-legged in the middle of the ring, exchanging strikes, stiff forearms and slaps, and Shibata riles up Riddle, who gets to his feet, rebounds off the ropes, SHIBATA FOLLOWS WITH A THUNDEROUS LARIAT AGAINST THE ROPES, HE LAYS RIDDLE OUT ON THE CANVAS, OFF THE ROPES, PK KICK! HE GOES FOR THE COVER, 1…2.. KICK-OUT, SHIBATA IMMEDIATELY LOCKS RIDDLE IN A SLEEPER HOLD! He could make The Original Bro fade right here and now! Riddle has nowhere to go, in the middle of the ring, any movements are corrected by Shibata as he has the Sleeper locked to a tee… RIDDLE POWERS UP ONTO HIS FEET, HE THROWS SHIBATA OVER HIS HEAD, BOTH MEN GET TO THEIR FEET, THE FINAL FLASH! BUT SHIBATA BITES THE BULLET, HE RAISES HIS HEAD AND SCREAMS TO RIDDLE! Riddle goes for it again, but Shibata pats it down, AND BITCH SLAPS RIDDLE! He hits a high angle German Suplex, and rolls Riddle over, he gets to his feet, he’s spins Riddle out, BUT RIDDLE CATCHES THE OUTSTRETCHED ARM OF SHIBATA, ARMBAR! ARMBAR! Shibata begins to fight out of it, so Riddle deadlifts Shibata again, gutwrench powerbomb, he mounts the back of Shibata and begins elbowing him in the back of the neck, and THE REFEREE RINGS THE BELL!
Matt Riddle def. Katsuyori Shibata (19 minutes)
An absolute war! The medical team tends to Shibata once the match is over, as Riddle recovers in the corner of the ring, his arm raised to the thankful Copper Box crowd, who were invested in the match since the opening bell. Shibata eventually gets on his feet, and although the medical personnel urge him to leave the ring, he insists on staying, as he pulls two wristbands from his boot, with the words “Makai Club - Fight Academy” on it. He hands one over to Riddle, as he puts on one himself. Riddle accepts, sliding it on his arm and fistbumping Shibata, before both men raise each others hands to end the show, with the formation of a new faction on the horizon….

2023.06.01 14:48 RiddledMeChris The worst of SCJerk (May 2023)

Section 1: Is SCJerk finally becoming self-aware?
In previous posts I've detailed how SCJerk has become one of the most toxic spaces on Reddit, with users consistently pumping out conspiracy theories and misinformation, whilst also engaging in bigotry and exhibiting almost-psychotic vendettas towards certain individuals. It finally appears, however, that some users have realised how far down the rabbit hole the subreddit has gone. Let's start with an SCJerker attempting to call out other users for making fun of Mercedes Mone's recent injury;
People jerking Mercedes Mone getting hurt is a direct shot at the majority of SCJerk pretending they’re not just as big of marks as SC.
The thread gets so heated that a mod has to lock it, but not without leaving this pinned message;
This thread is a shit show, and we're locking the comments before it gets worse. OPs point stands, so the thread is staying up. If you are going to post about an injury, at least find a way to spin it to a jerk, such as the Forbidden Door post.
The user who made the thread then makes this post a few days later explaining the harassment he received;
What the fuck happened to this subreddit? Earlier this week, I wrote up a thread about people using Sasha Banks’ injury as justification for openly shitting on her. I got called a mark. I got called a Sasha Twitter stan. I got downvoted relentlessly, even when I reiterated what other people said that were upvoted. It got so out of hand that the mods locked the thread but left it up because they agreed with me. It was this subreddit acting more like squaredcircle than I have ever seen in my, like, ten years on Reddit. This subreddit has gotten so fucking nasty with its jerks that’s it’s not even fun anymore. I don’t watch STARDOM and I don’t even like Sasha, but the shit that got sent to me, the shit I got inboxed to me, and the RedditCares messages I got from it, for having the audacity to say “if you’re using her injuring her ankle as a justification for your own dislike of her or her being bad, you’re a fucking Basement dwelling asshole” is fucking sickening.
In the same vein, an SCJerk user comments on others having a fixation with hating ex-WWE female wrestlers;
SCJ is more upset that Sasha and Toni Storm left the Fed than the Fed themselves
I take the "Toni Storm is a druggie" thing personally. A lot of people think I'm a stoner because I "give off the vibe" and talk a little slowly when I'm tired, shit gets annoying fast
Like her being a druggie here irks me. It started out as a joke and turned to a full blown fact here. Like being an addict is a worst kept secret and she would've went to rehab by now. Sasha like damn. Tell us on the Lilly doll where Sasha hurt you to some pepes.
The Anti Sasha stans are as bad as Sasha stans.
One user notes how tribalistic the subreddit has become lately;
There are few things more frustrating when it comes to WWE things than the discourse on this subreddit about Bianca Belair. Every time someone criticizes her, it becomes a race to type out the “durrrr Gunther duhhhhh except black woman” comparison. There’s absolutely no middle ground with the majority of people here and that sort of mindset is becoming way too popular and way too Basement-lite for me. It’s getting ridiculous how tribalistic people on here are getting nowadays. That stupid ass post bitching about the mod team was a big indicator of it.
Another user remarks on the low-key racism he's seen;
As a black Kenyan man, this sub has a lot of benevolent racism towards minorities where we’re treated like kids who need protection. Last night Bianca got booed by a full stadium of Puerto Rican fans and that was okay but online when she’s booed it’s because of racism from white people. What kind of hypocrisy is that? Not everything is racist when it involves black wrestlers because it is very patronizing.
Over on /Wreddit (which we'll come back to later), users talk about the amount of conspiracy theories being pushed on SCJerk;
The amount of stupid conspiratorial thinking that goes on within some Anti-AEW people, esp in SCJerk, is frustrating as hell. AEW will probably sell out Wembley and it'll be a big deal, stop acting like there's some sort of con afoot. I know these guys want AEW to fail but it gets old criticizing them for stuff that isn't even real.
Section 2: The discontent continues
Throughout the month SCJerk users continue to show their discontent at how SCJerk is being modded (i.e. mods are now actually removing edgelord material instead of letting anything and everything stay up). One user complains about a post being removed by the auto-mod, prompting other users to comment;
We should vote on what kind of content should be allowed in here. Every post having to be a parody of a basement post is pretty constricting.
Jannies shouldnt have this much power. No wonder this site is dogshit echochamber. Cowards dont even use their username.
Just a few days before this, another user had complained about one of his posts being removed by the auto-mod;
Waiting for this post to get removed. The jerks have come full circle.
The overcorrections with modding are pretty inconsistent now
That’s why this sub is dead now
One user sums up their feelings simply by saying;
Can you even post anything in here anymore without it being deleted by mods
As an added note, the auto-mod account SCJerk-ModTeam is not only still stuck on -100 comment karma (the lowest a Reddit account can reach) but new comments made by the account are still being heavily downvoted by salty SCJerk users very much unhappy with its continued existence.
Section 3: Does SCJerk actually like wrestling?
Earlier in the month, a thread about a Dax Hardwood tweet is made on SCJerk;
The amount of people that want wrestling to fail will never not blow my mind. LFG Wembley.
SCJerk users take this as an opportunity to calmly and rationally give their opinions on the state of the wrestling industry and AEW's place in it;
Not so much wanting wrestling to fail, just wanting your manchild boss to fail and fail harder than just about anyone ever in the history of pro wrestling.
I like how anytime someone criticizes/expresses dislike of AEW the fans/some of the talent/TK take it like theyre shitting on entire industry. I dont want AEW to fail because of some die hard WWE fanboyism, I want it to fail because fuck TK and all his dickriders
Nobody wants wrestling to fail. We want shit-head promoters like Tony Khan to stop showcasing ballet dancers, acrobats, and cosplayers as his feature attractions while actually good talent gets shelved or tossed onto a weekend show.
I want pro wrestling to succeed. I Iove pro wrestling. However, I want to see Tony Khan fail. I am so excited for the day AEW shuts down. Tony Khan has done serious damage to the US indie scene with his terminally online self, fan base, and the complete disregard for wrestler safety from both. Wrestlers are just toys to be played with and discarded when bored. There's a reason you don't see people making fun of Impact fans and NWA fans. Yes, there are less of them, but moreso they don't act like the petulant owner of AEW, and they don't have a post history from wrestlefap and they don't act like a shonen protag they so desperately think they are.
As has been the case for some time now, SCJerk would have you believe that they support the wrestling industry as a whole but that they simply don't like AEW. With that being said, let's look at how they react to other non-WWE wrestling promotions;
At least Sasha ended up in Japan. Naomi is in the dead zone that is Impact. I don’t care how good their women’s division is, it’s still a dead zone. I hope things are better there, compared to when their Knockouts Champion had to take a second job at a Sunglass Hut.
That Impact stream leading to Naomi's debut had less than a thousand live viewers. DAE she's so much happier making less money for less fans?
Speaking of irrelevant wrestling promotions...Does anyone have Naomi & Impact’s ratings? Did she increase them or no?
I don't know why the basement is rooting for MLW.
Rooting for the little guy. because none of them have watched the product and realize how bad the little guy is and how little he pays talent brutalizing themselves for nothing
This brings us nicely onto the next section;
Section 4: Wreddit is a Pro-Wrestling news and discussion sub, modelled after NBA to be open to all brands
The SCJerk affiliated subreddit which is described as 'the better balanced place to talk shop' surely has a better track record of positivity towards other wrestling companies, right? Here's a look at the diverse and wide-ranging discussions pertaining to non-WWE promotions this year;
When it's announced that AEW will be getting two more hours of programming a week with Collision, the response from users is less than welcoming;
Too much fucking wrestling.
There's not much variety here though. AEW, Impact and ROH are just indie spotfest fucking wrestling and WWE is bland boring corporate wrestling. Like yeah it is better that it's not just WWE and Impact but there's not much variety here.
I'm talking on a generalized basis, week to week it's majority indie spotfest wrestling with a mix of bad garbage wrestling thrown in.
So. Trash
Another A&W show that will tank in the ratings. It’s one thing for RAW to compete with a single MNF (and occasionally two), but these idiots really want to compete with college football with a roster centered around over 40 reject has beens and some never weres? I’m curious to see how Shad Khan handles this on his taxes.
Why? Genuine question: is there a need for so much wrestling every week? What's the total weekly amount of hours of new material right now? More than 10 hours are more than daytime soap operas must churn out, and they're notorious for just stretching stories beyond the limit of pointless filler. Wrestling has also reached that point IMO. Can't be a coincidence if ratings have been tanking and nobody really cares outside the inner circle of addicted and obsessed serial watchers.
How odd that a subreddit based around wrestling fans discussing wrestling has such a negative attitude towards a wrestling promotion announcing a new wrestling show. It's almost like these people don't actually like wrestling.
Section 5: Edgelord behaviour, miscellaneous nonsense & users we lost
In reference to Naomi/Trinity;
Then maybe it's better she isn't around, she has a record of not doing her job 100%. Shama lama ding dong is still wrestling. (For the touchy ones, I'm kidding.) Edit: I knew someone would get butthurt. Hahaha
In reference to Brodie Lee's passing;
He died of Post-Fed Syndrome and you need to apologize to Amanda right now, you can find her on Tinder in the greater Jacksonville area
In reference to the Outcasts;
"Will show tits for cash" seems more appropriate for at least two of them.
SteveStogers69 - Long time SCJerk member becomes the latest prominent user to be suspended from Reddit.
Section 6: Help Wanted
As you can tell, these monthly posts have been getting longer and more detailed as time goes by. If anyone who reads these wants to help out (e.g. sending me posts which I should include) then please feel free to message me or drop some links in the comments section.

2023.06.01 08:52 Cautious_Fish9864 Who are you making champions

Since we don't know who is going to be in the base game and who is going to be added in DLC let's just assume the whole roster is going to be in it as well as the ROH Belts and that create a championship will be a thing. Who are you going to have as your champions these are mine and reasons why I'm giving them the belt
AEW World Championship: Powerhouse Hobbs the main belt should go to the biggest monster on the roster
AEW International Championship: John Silver been a big fan of the meat man
AEW TNT Championship: Fuego Del Sol because I feel he just needs that push because he is just a fan favorite
FTW Championship: Anthony Ogogo i enjoy his matches on dark and I hope they can give him a good run when hey finally comesback plus I feel he's probably said FTW from the amount of times he's been needing to be out for his eye surgery
AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Butcher & The Blade because I feel the deserve a run with the belts
AEW World Trios Championship: Bandido, Rey Fénix, and Penta because luchador make some of the best trio teams
AEW Women's World Championship: Kris Statlander was a big fan of her since day one and I feel if she didn't get hurt those couple of times she'd already have a run with the belt
AEW TBS Championship: Leyla Hirsch enjoyed the matches she's had and looking forward to when she gets back from injury
ROH World Championship: Eddie Kingston badass tough guy feel like he deserves it and from what I hear he's a leader in the locker room and why shouldn't someone like that have the belt for the developmental brand
ROH World Television Championship: Hook he's had good matches but for the most part they've been squash matches so why not give the young star the secondary belt on the developmental brand
ROH Pure Championship: Daniel Garcia you may not have been considered one of the four pillars but feel he's going to do good things for this company
ROH World Tag Team Championship: The Briscoes if they add Jay Briscoe as a tribute like they are with Brody Lee. If not then Top Flight
ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship: The Wingmen I enjoyed their team work on dark and want to see more of them
ROH Women's World Championship: Abadon feel like she's always been kind of underutilized and I want to see more of her
And for the creat a belt I would do AEW women's tag team and give it to Tay Melo and Anna Jay or Penelope Ford & The Bunny because that hardcore match they had against each other was badass

2023.06.01 06:16 VandwichCommentary Season 3 was about the limits of Positive Thinking

I had these thoughts like midway through the season but decided to wait til after the season to post. This is kind of some thoughts on the whole of season 3 and why it had a lot of criticisms compared to Seasons 1 and 2. While those seasons seems to have a Ted Lasso-centric "win" each episode, regardless of what occurs in that episode; Season 3 had moments where it seems very anti-Ted Lasso both in quality and in form.
In some ways there was such a whiplash on how different season 3 was, it really did feel like putting people in a Empire Strikes Back position of how badly a position for the characters of the show. But I feel that Season 3 was emphasizing the limits of the un-ending positivity of Ted Lasso or the way of Ted Lasso.
Why I say this is this was exemplified by 4 things:
- Zava's motivational but ultimately empty quotes.
- Keely's hiring of Shandy but also her whole PR storyline in general.
- Rebecca trying to support Ted after the string of losses, repressing her rage with a frustrated "HAVE FUN TED" pep talk.
- Ted's panic attacks in general
And the turning point for the team was when they adopted Total Football, which made sense in a lot of ways. Not just how Trent pointed it out. I mean if you contrast it with Zava being on the team, yes they had wins. But together they had wins. Working together as a cohesive team they had wins based which allowed Zava to be elevated. But that does not represent the team, or Ted Lasso positivity, it represents Zava's skill. But when they became discordant with anger from the Nate tape, no amount of Zava skill or even Ted Lasso talking could have brought them back. It needed a system change that exemplifies the foundation of trust and respect that Lasso built in the past 2.5 years. It was Ted who put in the work to make the change, not Zava's Zava-isms that brought the change.
Keely's whole storyline I felt was basically what if it was Ted Lasso unleashed and unrestrained. Without any sort of focus on how your spread your positivity. Flower for the office each week that eats into the budget. It is amazing, it is great, but who is it for specifically? Does that effort of positivity garner the gains and growth say compared to....Ted buying books for all his team. I did wish the Keely storyline had a better ending than sort of being accepted back into the fold, it felt that she can only succeed through like minded, as opposed to being able to adapt to who she is win. But like how her interaction with Barbara, finally resulted her in acknowledging Barb's needs and POV (with the snow globe thing), it shows that positivity works if for the people involved you consider their POV over yours. Ted has always been adaptable to other's needs....all the while still sort of steamrolling over others with his unrelenting positivity, but I felt not in a way where it's my way or the highway. It's just there for anyone to accept it, and all the time Ted will be curios.
And obviously Rebecca trying to out-Ted Ted, well that is just hilarious. Once again really emphasizing that being "just" supportive isn't enough. Mopping the deck of the Titanic as it sinks so to speak. Maybe it needs a bollocking, maybe it needs pleading to win against this game which is important to them, maybe it needs a system change or consideration of firing Ted. All these negative things we experience is not antithesis to the Ted way, it's part of just addressing positivity in general. It's processing the bad so we don't end just saying "Diddly Doodly Ho" like Flanders and explode.
And with Ted. I'm glad that the foundation of his work has bore fruit. But I am also so glad that he expressed frustration and quiet anger to Michelle about her dating Jacobs. I was jumping my seat at the absolute progress Ted shown. And when you look at it....what Ted's mom did to affect Ted, you can also see how it transferred in affecting the relationship with Michelle. The constant positivity, the avoidance of negative emotions and sadness. It's a sadder version of Anne Perkins with Chris in the episode "Farmers Market", except without any resolution until Ted went to London.
So there are my thoughts. I am super glad that we gotten some good ole Ted Lasso feel good positivity in the end. Season 3 seemed a mess by comparison for some...but dunno if this kind of gives perspective to why it was written the way it was. So in the end of a feel good series, we also gotten one about dealing with mental health and grief, dealing with haters, dealing with bad fathers. I'm feeling like a goldfish right now and I have to (re)start Season 1 of Ted Lasso.

2023.06.01 03:19 Scary_Couple8243 [SPOILERS] Why I think Redemption is truly the best ending out of all the endings..

Disclaimer: This opinion is subjective and I still think that the other endings are good in their own way. I respect anyone who prefers or likes a different ending (yes, even Lone Wolf lol)
Redemption, in my opinion, is the best ending and a perfect conclusion to this amazing journey and game. I know many people may disagree with me on this but hear me out. Even though some people say that the ending felt unfair to Sean and that he lost too many years of his life, I still think Sean has his life ahead of him. Being 31 years old is not bad at all. Sean still has so many years to live after being released and he can become the person he has always wanted to be. Although Sean seems kind of broken after prison, he has his family and friends (Lyla if he kept in touch with her throughout) to support him through his hard times and heal his wounds. It’s definitely sad that Sean got unfairly incarcerated for something he didn’t do but I think it’s definitely much better than Daniel’s power being exposed by the FBI or the police. Who knows what they could have done to him. Another point that aids my argument is that Daniel and Sean are still together at the end of the day and they can lead comfortable lives without dreading the fact that they will be caught eventually. In PW, it’s confirmed that Sean is still being actively searched for and Daniel is monitored in case he reunites with his brother. In Redemption, they are together and they can definitely help each other heal from their traumatic experiences. After a few years, everything may return back to normal and Sean will be able to live a safe and relatively happy life after being treated for his trauma. What I also think adds to the ending is that Sean takes down the path of Brody, a vagabond (I think it was confirmed somewhere but I can’t exactly remember). Sean will travel the world and draw the amazing sights that he may come across. This may be a great way for him to take a break for himself and release all of the agony he has been carrying with him all these years. It might take a while, that’s for sure, but in the long run, everything will definitely work out. Subjectively, this ending provides the most sustainable life for both Sean and Daniel over the long run.
Sorry for this very long post! I just feel really passionate about this game and I love talking about it every opportunity I get! Let me know what you think. I’ve seen a lot of people think that PW is the best ending but I think it’s just a ‘temporary’ happy ending if that makes sense. Sean will still be on the run which can possibly be more mentally and physically draining depending on how difficult it is to hide in Mexico/Puerto Lobos. I still love that ending though and every ending except LW (for obvious reasons) hold a very special place in my heart. I would really like to hear what you think about the Redemption and what your favorite ending is and why!

2023.05.31 20:48 WilliamisMiB My Calculations on the actual Market cap of Gojo acquisition and what each sibling made. (Note show has inconsistencies)

What’s interesting is whether this takes into account the inheritance from their fathers death. Does this consider how many extra shares their father left to each sibling? During the Adrian Brody episode we could work out that waystar was worth roughly 87.5B (Aronson lost 350mm which was 10% of 4% stake). Forbes recently estimate it was worth 95-105B after Gojo sale premium. I would say it’s 33% premium at 192/share so let’s round to 115B (this is taken from 192 a share being roughly 33% premium from 144 original offer. So if 144 is 87.5B then 192 is 115B market cap)
Now if family owns 36% (as stated in earlier seasons) that’s 46B net worth of Roys.
Each Sibling had roughly 5% shares (from s1), Logan with 36%-(4kids*5%) or 16% himself)
So at 5% each sibling got 5.75B (0.05*115B) and if we expect Logan’s 16% to be divided by 4 equally, then each sibling has 9%.
With this I would estimate each sibling got 10.35 billion (0.09*115B) each in the sale if Shiv, Kendall, Roman, and Connor had equal weights of inheritance and had equal 5% to begin with.
Note: this seems way too high but it’s accurate if you follow the shows breadcrumbs of valuation. I think the writers imply that Kendall’s 2B offer from his father was equal to 144 a share valuation. So if we just start there then 2B x 33% premium at 192/share is 2.66B. And if he we include the calculated inheritance of 16% split evenly that would raise the 5%=2.66B up to 9%=4.78B
TLDR: So either it’s 2.66B each, or 4.78B w inheritance shares. Or it’s (my estimate) much higher at 5.75B each (5% of 115B) or 10.35B each with inheritance (9% or 115B)

2023.05.31 19:28 TremontRemy What's your personal most deserved and most undeserved acting win (both male and female)?

Here are my picks:
Most deserved win (M): Tom Hanks for Forrest Gump. He really captured the complexity of the character and I couldn't imagine anyone else to play that role. Some honorable mentions: Casey Affleck, Adrien Brody, Anthony Hopkins, Heath Ledger.
Most deserved win (F): Kathy Bates for Misery. One of the greatest performances ever and the best female villain performance for me. Honorable mentions: Julianne Moore, Mo'Nique, Frances McDormand (Three Billboards).
Most undeserved win (M): Alan Arkin for Little Miss Sunshine. Despite being a great movie, I don't think Arkin's character was stretched out enough to call it Oscar-worthy. (Dis-)Honorable mentions: Mahershala Ali (Moonlight), Rami Malek.
Most undeserved win (F): Kim Basinger for L.A. Confidential. I really don't see why her performance was even considered to be worthy of an Oscar. Even 87-year-old Gloria Stuart had a much better performance. (Dis-)Honorable mentions: Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady), Jamie Lee Curtis.

2023.05.31 17:35 saltofdaearth How y'all liking Behind the Bastards on Vince McMahon?

I'm finding it somewhat interesting but overall pretty meh. Been finding some factual errors that he's been explaining (like implying Bruiser Brody was murdered shortly after David Von Erich's death) and mispronouncing names like Iron Sheik.
The first episode isn't about Vince McMahon and they lose track through out the series to talk about other wrestling personalities instead of Vince McMahon himself. I feel like this wasn't necessary to be a 6 parter and one of the things the host does often is just cherry pick Vince McMahon quotes and deciding "That's most likely bullshit" or "that's likely real" based on his prerogative.
I have listening to this podcast for a good year and knowing what I know about Vince and hearing his podcast... makes me question his (the podcast) credentials A LOT now. How do you feel?

2023.05.31 06:46 vikkingss The Predator

The Predator

The Predator
Introduction

"The Predator" is a science fiction action film that revitalizes the iconic Predator franchise, originally created by Jim and John Thomas in 1987. Directed by Shane Black, known for his work on "Iron Man 3" and "The Nice Guys," this installment combines elements of the original film while introducing fresh and exciting narrative twists. Released on September 14, 2018, "The Predator" offers a thrilling ride for both long-time fans and newcomers to the series.

Summary:

"The Predator" follows a diverse group of soldiers and scientists who become entangled in a deadly battle with a new breed of Predators, an extraterrestrial species known for hunting formidable prey across the universe. The film begins with an intense opening sequence in which a Predator spacecraft crash-lands on Earth. Army sniper Quinn McKenna (played by Boyd Holbrook) is the sole witness to the event and manages to salvage some advanced Predator technology as proof.

Upon realizing the potential implications of the crashed spacecraft, McKenna mails the recovered technology to his home address for safekeeping. However, his autistic son, Rory (played by Jacob Tremblay), accidentally activates the advanced weaponry, drawing the attention of the Predators. Meanwhile, a government agency led by Agent Will Traeger (played by Sterling K. Brown) captures McKenna and attempts to silence him to prevent the truth about the Predators from spreading.

McKenna finds himself handcuffed alongside a group of former soldiers suffering from PTSD, each with unique skills and personalities. This group, including Nebraska (played by Trevante Rhodes), Coyle (played by Keegan-Michael Key), Baxley (played by Thomas Jane), Lynch (played by Alfie Allen), and Nettles (played by Augusto Aguilera), forms an unconventional alliance to protect themselves and Rory from the deadly pursuit of the Predators.

Driven by their shared desire to survive and protect Rory, the group embarks on a thrilling mission to rescue him from the Predators. Along the way, they encounter Casey Bracket (played by Olivia Munn), a biologist enlisted by Agent Traeger, who becomes an integral part of the team. Casey provides scientific knowledge and insight into the Predator species, aiding their understanding of the creatures they are up against.

As the story unfolds, it is revealed that the Predators have been genetically enhancing themselves with the DNA of other alien species, making them even more formidable opponents. This revelation adds an intriguing layer to the film, as the group discovers that Rory, who has Asperger's syndrome, possesses a unique genetic code that holds the key to the Predators' evolutionary plans.

The climax of the film takes place in a suburban neighborhood where Rory's estranged mother, Emily (played by Yvonne Strahovski), resides. The Predators descend upon the neighborhood, engaging in a climactic battle against the group and the military. With Rory's genetic code at stake, the group must not only fend off the Predators but also protect Rory from falling into the wrong hands.

In a dramatic finale, the group confronts the Predator Alpha, an even more lethal and massive version of the Predator species. With unwavering determination, they devise a plan to defeat the Alpha and save Rory. The battle that ensues is a thrilling display of firepower, clever tactics, and relentless courage.

In the end, the group emerges victorious, successfully eliminating the Predators and ensuring Rory's safety. The film concludes with McKenna, his son, and the remaining survivors, now bonded by their shared experiences, looking towards an uncertain but hopeful future.

"The Predator" is a riveting sci-fi action film that pays homage to the original Predator franchise while introducing fresh elements to captivate audiences. Directed by Shane Black, the movie offers a compelling story filled with intense action sequences, memorable characters, and an exploration of the Predator species' evolving nature.

With a diverse cast led by Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, and Jacob Tremblay, "The Predator" brings together a group of unlikely heroes who unite to protect humanity from an extraterrestrial threat. The film expertly balances pulse-pounding action with thought-provoking themes, delving into issues such as genetic manipulation and the power of teamwork.

"The Predator" successfully revives the beloved franchise, delivering a thrilling and entertaining cinematic experience. By blending familiar elements with innovative storytelling, this film appeals to fans of the original while attracting a new generation of viewers.

In the annals of science fiction action films, few have left as indelible a mark as the iconic movie, "Predator." Released in the 2000s, this film directed by John McTiernan and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger has become a cult classic, renowned for its thrilling storyline, intense action sequences, and memorable characters. Let us delve into the world of "Predator," exploring the aspects that made it both a groundbreaking success and a polarizing entry in the franchise.

Plot and Setting:

"Predator" takes place in the heart of a dense jungle, where a team of highly skilled commandos embarks on a rescue mission. Little do they know that an extraterrestrial creature, known as the Predator, lurks within the dense foliage, hunting them down one by one. The plot is a perfect blend of sci-fi, horror, and action, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats throughout the film.

The Good:

Revolutionary Visual Effects: Released in the early 2000s, "Predator" pushed the boundaries of special effects. The creature design was ahead of its time, with the Predator's camouflage technology and thermal vision making it a truly menacing presence. The movie's seamless integration of practical and CGI effects added to the overall realism.

Memorable Characters: The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, led by Arnold Schwarzenegger as Major Alan "Dutch" Schaefer. Each character is distinct, with their own unique personalities and traits. From Jesse Ventura's iconic turn as Blain Cooper to Bill Duke's intense portrayal of Mac Eliot, the characters leave a lasting impression.

Tension and Suspense: "Predator" masterfully builds tension throughout the movie. The commandos' increasing paranoia and fear as they realize they are being hunted creates an atmosphere of constant suspense. The cat-and-mouse game between the Predator and the surviving team members keeps audiences engaged until the heart-pounding climax.

The Bad:

Thin Character Development: While the characters are memorable, their development is somewhat lacking. Most of them are archetypal action heroes, with limited backstory or emotional depth. As a result, viewers may find it challenging to form deep connections with the characters, beyond their surface-level traits.

Lack of Diversity: The film received criticism for its predominantly male and homogenous cast. The absence of female characters and limited representation drew attention to the lack of diversity in the movie. This aspect has been a point of contention among viewers and subsequent analysis of the film.

Pacing and Third Act: Some viewers have pointed out that the film's pacing slows down in the middle, making certain scenes feel repetitive or drawn-out. Additionally, the third act introduces elements that diverge from the initial tone, leading to a tonal shift that can be divisive among audiences.
:

Released in the 2000s, "Predator" remains an influential film in the science fiction action genre, thanks to its innovative visual effects, memorable characters, and relentless suspense. While it may have some shortcomings, such as thin character development and a lack of diversity, the movie's impact on popular culture cannot be denied. Whether you are a fan of adrenaline-pumping action or a lover of sci-fi, "Predator" is a film that will continue to captivate audiences for years to come.

Conclusion:

Throughout the Predator movie franchise, spanning from its inception in the 1980s to the latest installments in the 2010s, the series has maintained its status as a beloved and enduring sci-fi action franchise. With its iconic alien antagonist, intense action sequences, and exploration of humanity's struggle against formidable extraterrestrial forces, the Predator movies have left an indelible mark on the genre.

The Predator franchise has consistently delivered high-octane entertainment, drawing in audiences with its unique blend of science fiction, horror, and thrilling action. The movies have succeeded in creating a menacing and memorable antagonist in the Predator itself, with its advanced technology, fearsome appearance, and relentless hunting instincts.

The films have also showcased the talents of several notable actors, with performances by the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny Glover, and Adrien Brody. These actors have brought their own charisma and intensity to their respective roles, elevating the on-screen presence of their characters and adding depth to the narratives.

The Predator movies have evolved and expanded over time, exploring different settings, time periods, and narrative arcs. While not every installment has been universally praised, the franchise has managed to maintain a dedicated fan base and continues to captivate audiences with its unique blend of sci-fi and action.

One of the strengths of the Predator movies is their ability to balance pulse-pounding action with moments of suspense and intrigue. The tension builds as the human characters navigate a world where they are clearly outmatched, pitting their wits and survival instincts against an extraterrestrial threat. The cat-and-mouse dynamic between the Predator and its human prey remains a compelling aspect of the franchise.

Furthermore, the Predator movies have contributed to popular culture, inspiring spin-offs, comic books, video games, and various forms of merchandise. The iconic image of the Predator itself has become instantly recognizable, further solidifying its place in the annals of science fiction cinema.

In conclusion, the Predator movies have established themselves as a formidable and enduring franchise within the sci-fi action genre. With their distinctive blend of thrilling action, memorable characters, and exploration of humanity's struggle against a deadly alien adversary, these films continue to entertain and captivate audiences. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer to the franchise, the Predator movies offer a thrilling and immersive experience that has stood the test of time since its inception in the late 1900s.

2023.05.31 05:30 Mini_Potato4525 Feeling stuck?

I get triggered by doods that I or other people perceive as attractive and freeze mentally, emotionally, physically. It makes me depressed emotionally and mentally absent. I completely disregard my discomfort o and desires trying to sift through my confusion. It’s not something I do consciously. It starts with a small thought, I try to entertain it when I knew I didn’t want to, and then I make myself extremely uncomfortable.
This is all depressing and all but I am genuinely trying to be nicer to myself. I was triggered today, this is something that happens too often to ignore now.

2023.05.31 03:07 InGen_Lab_Intern Is there any way to read Richard Matheson's original Jaws 3 script?

I'd love to read it. He's one of my favorite sci-fi writers.
His original premise was apparently about a shark that travels up a river and ends up in a lake. And the Brody family wasn't involved at all.

2023.05.30 23:54 Professional_Elk1921 WAMC- please help and be realistic.

Hey guys, first time posting here. So, I just graduated college after 3 years this May (was in an early college in high school) and I genuinely want some honest feedback on my application chances for right now and where I should shoot in terms of MD schools. I will be applying for 2024-2025 cycle.
I have ties to New York, born and raised in Long Island move to North Carolina when I was a freshman in high school, however a big chunk of my family and godmother lives in downstate New York still. Also have ties to central and southern Florida as another big chunk of family lives there too. (I have a big family as you see). And my immediate family live in NC.
Here's my stats for context:
uGPA: 3.62 sGPA: 3.45 strong upwards trend MCAT: 520
So, I would have to calculate my cGPA due to the dual enrollment courses taken in high school. I didn’t do as great in high school but I was 16-17 and not as mature then. So, my cGPA might actually sit at 3.4-3.5. I'm not sure how much my high school dual enrollment affects my application but please let me know!
Major: Public Health with a conc. in pre-health
Goals: to serve my community, advocate for health equity, leadership in medicine, work in underserved communities
non-Trad student, just graduated this may but will apply next year
NC resident, URM - Black (Caribbean), Latina (Caribbean)
Clinical paid: 1000 hours in urgent care in an underserved area will have 2000+ by the time of application
Non-clinical volunteering: 900 hours as group leader for kids at my church (have been doing it since high school) will probably be at 1000+ by the time of application.
Research - I did nonclinical research on STDs among college students for a semester approved by the Institutional Review Board. This research was required for my class so idk if this counts.
Shadowing - none yet, working on getting those.
Other ECs/Leadership:
Leadership: was an Ambassador for my Major for a year
was in a minority pre-health honor society for 2 years
was in 2 school non-profit organization of young professional and collegiate students who dedicate the time to push towards the advancement of women of color
