2023.05.23 18:46 ToveD17 A couple Q's – Insurance not paying, should I try pleading my case? And also has anyone been to one of the doctors in California (O'Dell, Jin Yoon, McHugh, Verma) and had a good experience?
A couple questions here!
First – has anyone gone to Dr. Karla O'Dell in Los Angeles, Dr. Mi Jin Yoon in San Leandro, CA or Dr. Richard McHugh in Sacramento, CA? I was planning to go to Dr. Verma in Irvine and had a consultation with him a couple weeks ago but I just read the thread on the Wiki where someone said they had a really bad experience with him and people on that thread are talking about how the dose he gives is super high and they have uncontrollable burps for a long time. So now I'm worried. Would love to hear experiences from anyone else with all these doctors.
Second – I just learned from Dr. Verma's office that my insurance denied coverage for the botox procedure? Are most people finding this is the case? Has anyone had success calling your insurance and advocating for yourself? Or if they deny it, do you have to accept it and just pay out of pocket?

2023.05.20 23:44 SunOpening1263 Need advice !!
Hi everyone! First time ever using reddit, I hope I’m doing this correctly! So I have quite a few questions and I hope I could get some help. I have been unable to burp my entire life, like most of you on here. Once I turned 20 ( i’m now 22) I had realized that this is becoming a big problem with drinking carbonation and even eating certain foods. I get the gurgling sound and pain in my chest as if a burp is coming up but doesn’t come out, instead it goes back down. On top of this, my whole life since 5 years old I have suffered from emetephobia and panic attacks. I’m controlling it with anxiety medication, but still have the phobia. I found information online about RCPD and done lots of research. I went to my local ENT doctor and go an endoscopy, motility test and so forth, but that all lead to him saying “you have acid reflux and need anti acids” which obviously is not what I’m trying to get at. I contacted Dr. Verma in Irvine CA since he’s closest to where I live, and they unfortunately don’t take my insurance and cannot do the procedure. I live in Sacramento CA, anyone know of a doctor here that can give me the botox treatment? Also, i’m curious to know from others who have received the botox how it has affected your body. I heard vomiting can occur from the botox for several week, and of course with emetephobia that freaks me out. Is it worth doing and putting in the effort to find a doctor? Thank you so much!!

2023.05.11 05:22 OwenE700-2 Last day tomorrow—Pasadena to Santa Monica Pier
| Picked up car in Milwaukee nine days ago. (Cheaper car rental than Chicago.) Got the classic Route 66 begins here photo and hit the road. Tomorrow is day 10. Nothing left to do but get to the Pier and declare victory. I have to admit to a little bit of Route 66 fatigue. Driving through the desert was melancholy in some places; being bypassed can be fatal to a town. Anyone else glad to get to the end of the road and park the car for awhile? submitted by OwenE700-2 to route66 [link] [comments] |
2023.05.11 02:46 Ccsaker I'm out
Use to recommend Acorns to everyone. Used too. Lost my wallet, happens to everyone, contact customer service to let them know and lock my card, go through the process, they let me know it'll be the standard 14 business days to get my card, it stings, but since that's all they say they can do I guess I'm out of luck right? Well then they tell me my cards still active. Excuse me? The card I lost is still active? So I clarified, its locked and I can unlock it right? No. The card is active. So I clarify again, you don't mean that I can unlock it if I find it and then use it, you mean that the card is currently unlocked and usable. Yup. That's what the rep confirms. Come to find this isn't true, it was locked the way it should be, and can be unlocked via the app. So it was a miscommunication right? No big deal.
So I have them give me my options to gain access to my money. According to them, the absolute, ONLY way to get access, is to use their transfer out button.I ask about Zelle, I'm told it's not an option. Ask about cash app, or any other form off 3rd party app transference, same responce. I ask about wire transfers (found out after that's not any faster), not only am I told it's not an option, I'm told they don't have any way to facilitate a wire transfer, even if it's requested from a different bank. This doesn't seem right, so I request escalation, they can't do that, I have to wait 1-2 business days. So I confirm that this will be escalated to someone that oversees their checking accounts, they say yes, so I wait.
A week later, I have to put in a second escalation request because I haven't heard anything, but I do get a call back the next day. Get the same information, but this time, I've got more information. I spoke with my primary bank to ask if they could initiate a wire transfer out of my acorns checking account from their end to my primary bank account. Absolutely! Not a problem, though it will take the same amount of time to transfer. In the mean time, I do a test with zelle to see if I could pull money through there, and wouldn't you know it, that worked too! So I relay all of this to the supervisor I'm speaking with, and all they can do is come up with excuses as to how that's not what the preliminary rep meant, but when asked to explain what they meant, they couldn't. Even doubled down that I couldn't do a wire transfer.
I finally asked this supervisor what it was they oversaw. They're just a standard customer support/app supervisor, they have nothing to do with the checking account. After I specifically requested a financial supervisor, and waited a week, I can't even speak with someone that knows anything about my checking account. I expressed my frustration with this, and suddenly the rep became very confrontational, cutting me off multiple times to tell me that they "don't offer financial advise" like it was a magical catch phrase any time the term "finances" passed my lips. This supervisor told me that they would escalate this "to the appropriate member of their financial department" and hung up on me. This was 2 weeks ago.
I've since gone to the BBB to make a complaint after multiple emails have gone unanswered, and I found out two things that were pretty important to me. Acorns Securities LLC is not BBB accredited, and while that's not the end of the world, I would expect a company that promotes themselves to be helpful and for the people would want to be accredited, just as a little extra "See? We're good!" For two, they hold an "F" ranking with the BBB, even though they're unaccredited, with 114 total complaints in the past three years, and 42 reviews in the past twelve months. I wish I had looked sooner.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

2023.04.28 23:20 snake_pod Kaiser Doctors
Hi,
I'm looking for decent doctors in southern CA. I've been avoiding the doctors for almost 2 years now. I got a recommendation in
endo for Dr. Paula Richter in Irvine and I saw her in 2021, but it wasn't a productive experience. I told her I'm having fertility issues and worsening pain and she told me to go on lupron. I have not seen her since.
I am hoping someone here can offer recommendations. I am willing to drive up to 2 hours from Los Angeles to see a good doctor.

I've just opened the box to see that the sticker on the pump says "Fuse [Not Included]: 10 Amps Required". Does this mean I need to buy a separate 10 amp fuse and connect it in series with the pump?
